POSTED: 6:28 am EDT August 2, 2004
UPDATED: 6:29 am EDT August 2, 2004

STOCKBRIDGE -- The search was expected to resume Monday for a missing Henry County boy, who disappeared early Sunday and has not been seen since.

Henry County authorities said David Tippin slipped out the back door of his home on Holly Street in Stockbridge early Sunday morning.

Relatives told police the boy was "slightly Autistic."

Police do not suspect the child was abducted.

He was wearing an electric blue "Finding Nemo" T-shirt and gray shorts.

This is so scary. They were showing clips of the family and friends at a special prayer service yesterday, just weeping with fear over what has happened to this child. They are searching lakes and woods and everywhere.

Interesting point - the parents spent the day yesterday taking polygraphs (I hear they passed) and being interviewed by police. He has wandered before. A family friend said the door had not just locks, but a cowbell on it b/c they were afraid he'd go out again. I hope they find him safe.

So relieved. The picture of this precious boy with his dad on the front page of today's paper made my day!

I was glad to hear that this young man was found. This goes to show that not every time a person vanishes, that it ends in a bad way. I'm glad this young man was found and we can file this in the located section.
