Natasha has a Facebook. I couldn't find her through Facebook search, I had to search her name + facebook on Google, came up with a school reunion group result, and she was a member of that group.

Her last post was 21 hours ago (1pm her time) saying she had to work, by Blackberry for Facebook. I'm hoping they'll be able to ping her phone! Sasktel has good towers, I hope she's on Sasktel and not Rogers.

The article below says that they were also confirmed to be at a restaurant in the 600 block of Albert Street at 9:30 pm yesterday, which is near the Canadian Tire the newscaster spoke of.

http://www.leaderpost.com/Amber+Alert+issued+Regina+girl+Samantha+Martyn/3242076/story.html

The map in the first attachment is where Samantha lives. The address given by police was the 1400 block of 9th Ave N, not a particular building, so the marker is just 1400. You'll notice Ring Road just north of the marker, Broad St is a busy street and Ring Road is the main freeway in the city (goes in a circle around the whole thing, thus the name).

The map in the second attachment is 600 Albert Street. Albert Street is a busy street and one of the main drags in the city.

This keeps on getting worse and worse. Dad convicted of manslaughter.

"While police would not disclose the basis of that concern, the Leader-Post covered Martyn's trial in 1992 which ended with a manslaughter conviction in the death of an Oxbow businessman. Joel Olson, a 29-year-old garage owner, was killed in the parking lot of an Oxbow bar in November 1991 after confronting Martyn about money owed to Olson for car repairs. Martyn hit Olson with his car, dragging him for 4.5 metres before driving off. Originally sentenced to two years less a day, the appeal court subsequently upped the penalty to 4 1/2 years for what the court described as "motor manslaughter." Immediately after that incident, he fled across the border to the United States."

A restraining order — imposed last month when Christopher Alan Martyn, 39, appeared in court for a peace bond application sought by his ex-partner Natasha Sentes — was supposed to keep the couple apart. But now Martyn, Sentes and their daughter Samantha Martyn have disappeared — and police fear for their safety. Samantha was the subject of an Amber Alert issued shortly before noon Tuesday.
"It's believed that Natasha and Samantha were abducted," Regina Police Service spokeswoman Lara Guzik said Tuesday afternoon. "We have great concern for the safety of both Samantha and Natasha."
While police would not disclose the basis of that concern, the Leader-Post covered Martyn's trial in 1992 which ended with a manslaughter conviction in the death of an Oxbow, Sask., businessman. Joel Olson, a 29-year-old garage owner, was killed in the parking lot of an Oxbow bar in November 1991 after confronting Martyn about money owed for car repairs. Martyn hit Olson with his car, dragging him for 4.5 metres before driving off.
Originally sentenced to two years less a day, the appeal court subsequently upped the penalty to 4 1/2 years for what the court described as "motor manslaughter." Immediately after that incident, he fled to the United States.
Asked if Martyn had a record, Guzik would say only, "We're not going to go into past history at all." She did, however, confirm that there was a non-contact order in place that prohibited Martyn from having contact with Sentes.

Regina police were first alerted around 1 a.m. Tuesday when a friend of Sentes telephoned officers out of concern for the safety of the 34-year-old Regina woman and her daughter.
Samantha was last seen around 6:15 p.m. Monday when her father picked her up from a house. Guzik said Martyn had an arrangement to visit with his daughter, but she would not disclose who lived at the house where Martyn picked the child up.
"It was an arrangement. She was picked up by her father at that time. That was the last known sighting of both the father and the daughter," Guzik said.
An elderly resident at the home declined to speak to reporters when asked about the abduction. He said the police were taking care of the matter.
According to Guzik, Sentes left her job around 10:30 p.m. and was supposed to pick up her daughter. "The arrangement was that she was supposed to pick up her daughter at that time," said Guzik.
"We don't know what has happened after this time when she got off of work."

Friends and relatives of Natasha Sentes and Samantha Martyn in shock

Relatives and friends of Natasha Sentes and her four-year-old daughter, Samantha Martyn, reacted with shock Tuesday at news that the two were missing, and were believed to have been abducted by Christopher Martyn.

"It was just a shock. A total shock," said family member Audrey Sentes. "You wouldn't expect something like that to happen. I don't even know what to say, because we're just like, 'This can't be real.'"

Sentes' uncle, Kelly, said Tuesday evening that the family is "very, very worried."

Second-ever Amber Alert issued in Sask.

The Amber Alert issued for four-year-old Samantha Martyn is only the second such alert in Saskatchewan's history.

The Amber Alert system was introduced in Saskatchewan in 2004, and was used for the first time in this province in late July 2006, when a 10-year-old Saskatchewan boy and a Manitoba teen were abducted by sex offender Peter Whitmore.

A four-year-old girl who is the subject of an Amber Alert was spotted with her father at a gas station in Manitou, Man., police said.
Samantha Martyn and her 39-year-old father Christopher Martyn, who authorities are seeking in connection to the girl's disappearance, were seen Tuesday at 5:49 a.m. CT, according to video taken from the gas station, police said.
Police believe the girl's mother, Natasha Sentes, 34, who is also missing, may have been in the front seat of the vehicle but that "no visual was ever established.

That's a relief that there's been a sighting and that it appears that Samantha and mom were 'unharmed' as of last night.

Manitou is quite far south and appears to be well off the major highways. It looks like CM was either staying off the major roads to avoid any potential roadblocks or LE monitoring, or else he is headed to the border. The main border crossing to North Dakota doesn't appear to be that far from there.

Are there any locals on here who are familiar with the area? Are there other border crossings, including unofficial 'unattended' places where someone could drive across the border from southern Manitoba?

You would think that at this stage (well after their disappearance) that CM would be wary of customs officials being on the lookout for them.

This was reported from the CBC:

Ray Bamford, the manager at the gas station — Reds Cafe and Convenience — said a man came in with a little girl and they seemed happy.

"They walked in and went to the washroom and they got drinks and went out," he said, thinking nothing of it.

There was also a woman in the front seat who appeared to be asleep, he said.

"She was just comatose in the passenger seat. That's not uncommon either, you know, someone rolls in, they look like they've been driving all night," Bamford said.

Missing girl, 4, found safe in Regina
Last Updated: Wednesday, July 7, 2010 | 10:55 AM CST
CBC News
A missing four-year-old girl has been located in good health in Regina, the Regina Police Service said Wednesday.

An Amber Alert had been issued Tuesday for Samantha Martyn, whom police said might have been taken by her father Christopher Martyn.

Police said they were also concerned the girl's mother, Natasha Sentes, had also been taken.

Around 9:30 a.m. CST, police cancelled the Amber Alert.

At 8 a.m. the same morning, police said they received information from a relative that the three had arrived at a residence in the 1300 block of 8th Avenue North in the city's north end.

Samantha and Sentes were found to be in apparent good health, the police said.

Martyn has been taken into custody.

Police said they would provide more information at police headquarters at 11:30 a.m.

So glad she was found safe! I was following this story last night and then hopped on today...my hometown is Manitou! Now I live in the city (Winnipeg) ...Manitou is VERY close to the border....15-20 miles tops...
There are many little border crossings...but most close at 10pm...it used to be common place 'back in the day' ..I'm talking at least 20-30 years ago or more...the farm neighbours would go back and forth all the time...they are all neighbouring Canadian/US farms down there along the border line...but..you'd have to be very familiar with the area to know the small border crossings...The 2 large ones in Manitoba which I do believe are open 24 hrs...are at Emerson and the Peace Gardens...
If he was heading east...he was already past the Peace Gardens crossing...if he was counting on crossing from Manitoba to North Dakota...he was probably heading for Emerson....I wonder why they suspected he was heading across the lines?
All I know is I saw Manitou of all places *800 people!* and I was like...wha? SO glad she is back home safe and sound....that's what matters!

I'm glad Samantha is safe and I hope her Mom is okay. I hope they charge him with more that breaching the restraining order, but I would be very surprised if they do.

Regina man charged in Amber Alert case

Christopher Martyn, a Regina man arrested in connection with an Amber Alert missing child case, has been charged with assault causing bodily harm.

Martyn, 39, has also been charged with two counts of failing to comply with court orders, after making a brief appearance in Regina provincial court Thursday morning.

Martyn was arrested Wednesday after a day-long search for his four-year-old daughter Samantha and her mother Natasha Sentes.

Police said there had been a court order preventing Martyn from making contact with Sentes and Martyn would be charged with violating it.

Martyn was arrested after Wednesday morning's safe return of Natasha Sentes and her four-year-old daughter Samantha Martyn. Police have said Sentes suffered minor but "visible injuries," while Samantha, who is also Martyn's daughter, was "in great health."

Christopher Martyn denied bail, facing more charges following Amber Alert

A ban on publication prohibits releasing details of the lawyers' arguments during the hearing or the judge's reasons for denying bail.

On Friday, Regina police announced that Martyn was now facing two more charges in addition to those laid earlier this week. He's now charged with unlawful confinement and a common assault.

He was already facing charges of assault causing bodily harm and two counts of breaching undertakings. Those alleged breaches stem from his release on a peace bond application made by his estranged common-law spouse last month.
