This happens more than we'd like to think. It's only years or decades later when a sibling or other family member starts asking questions that it's brought to light. The Adam Herrman case is one I can think of off the top of my head.

I firmly believe that this would have happened to Caylee, if Cindy hadn't of freaked out and called 911. They would have explained it away as an adoption or something.

Wednesday officers and detectives searched the property of a Lee Street home where the remains were found.
The JPD Crime Scene Van left the house at 3685 Lee Street shortly before 6 p.m. after a day long investigation into the death of Keith Cassidy, Jr. who police say would have been five years old.
According to Jackson police, concerned family members informed them that the child had been missing.

It's being said by someone that knows the family that the parental units claimed that the baby was living out of state with the father's family.:(
4 older kids in the house, why was the baby "sent away"? Did noone question this?

Aaron Thompson from Colorado is another case. IIRC, she was missing over two years before it was uncovered.

Did they ever find her body? There have been so many cases over the years that I have been on WS, it's hard to remember the details.

Sadly no. Her father was recently sentenced to 80 years for child abuse.
