I wonder if he wants citizenship or asylum?? I hope he IS safe and it's just a case of wanting to get lost and no one has taken advantage of him being foreign and unfamiliar with his surroundings and the country.

I am so happy that he has made phone calls and emails to the police.
My late husband was in Ghana many times with our two commercial fishing boats.......It is quite an unusual Country and I might add a very backward Country compared to the U.S. ,but I don't think that he would be looking for asylum here in the U.S. Year's ago when we took the fishing boats to Tema Ghana we brought over 18 young men to crew and they all had dinner at our house. They were very shy.....asked many question's but well mannered.
I do hope for this young's sake and his parents that he is found safe.

Missing Ghanaian found
BRIGHTON — The Brighton Police Department has canceled the missing person status for a 20-year-old West African resident who came to Rochester to study and play soccer at Monroe Community College.
Thomas Fokuo of Ghana returned to Rochester by bus from New York City about 4 p.m. Wednesday, according to Sgt. John Mallaber.
He was met by Police Department officials and college staffers and was cooperative with investigators. Fokuo is now with MCC staff. The Police Department closed its investigation when Fokuo was found.
Cynthia Cooper, MCC spokeswoman, said she has not spoken with Fokuo so she was unable to comment on why he left the area.
