Are we to presume the husband had something to do with the wife's death? It seems odd that nothing was taken from the home.

"Authorities also are not sure whether a crime was involved."

What kind of a statement is this? The woman was found shot to death.

Sorry, I can't copy this for some reason. It was determined murder suicide. I think their interpretation of how the husband did it is far fetched. Please read for yourself. I cannot believe that this 73 year old man could climb a tree and go into the attic and kill himself. My dad is that age, and in better health than this guy, and I can't see him doing it. Also, I read in another article that he was found half sticking out of a barrel. How do you shoot yourself and fall into a barrel? Doesn't make sense to me. I so sorry for their loss.

This was an older couple. If the husband decided to end his life because of his health problems why shoot his wife and THEN drive the car back a mile and hide it in some building with the doors closed and THEN WALK all the way back to where his wife was and THEN do all of that climbing just to get up there to shoot himself. That just doesn't make any sense. Why wouldn't he have parked the car...shot his wife and then shot himself?

Sounds to me like it was someone that they knew because the house hadn't been broken into. Then that someone went to all of that trouble so that they wouldn't be found right away. But why would someone go to all of that trouble to take the husband way up there just to shoot him? Something is off here.

Why would they have propped a kitchen chair under the door knob? If they left to commit murder/suicide who would care if anyone could get into the house? I don't know but if I was one of their kids I would have a problem with this story unless LE explained it better then we are reading it.
