Dear Morgan,
We want you to know how special you are! You are a blessing we cannot live without. We feel cheated every day that goes by that we do not see your smile, hear your bubbly laughter or listen to your thoughts and ideas. We have never stopped believing that we will find you. We are saving all our hugs and kisses for you. Always know that you are loved. Most of all, don't ever give up. We will find you. We promise!
Love, Mom and Dad

I came across this letter on The Morgan Nick Foundation website and it broke my heart. Morgans parents believe she is still alive. PLEASE HELP US FIND THIS CHILD.

I was sure there was a thread for this little girl, but I couldn't find it.

Morgan Nick was abducted from an Arkansas ball park on June 9th 1995. She was 6 years old and incredibly beautiful. Witnesses saw a man talking watching Morgan as she played.

PLEASE LOOK AT THE COMPOSITE SKETCH OF THIS MAN AND AT MORGANS PHOTO . (See bottom of link page) DO YOU KNOW THEM??

http://www.pollyklaas.org/missing/kids/morgann.htm -including composite sketch

Please also bear in mind that this is a sketch of this man as he would have looked in 1995. BUT SOMEBODY KNOWS HIM.
The witness also saw a red Ford pickup with a white camper parked nearby that disappeared at about the same time as the girl. The camper is possibly damaged at the right rear, and was described as four or five inches too short for the truck, which has a short wheel base and paint dulled by age. The truck is believed to have Arkansas license plates.

The unknown man was described at the time as Caucasian, approximately six-feet tall, in his late 20's or early 30's, muscular build with short dark colored, or black hair and a short mustache and beard (3 to 4 day growth of facial hair). The man was wearing only cut-off blue jean shorts (no shirt or shoes). Individuals who saw the man say his chest was "hairy" and his voice/dialect pattern was described as "hillbilly".

Does something look familiar about this sketch?? Do recognise the vehicle description?

I have been following this case for a while, and am wondering if there's any breaks in the case. Has the vehicle ever been located or identified?

For Morgan.

Sorry missingchild- for some reason I didnt get my usual notification that you'd replied! In answer to your question there has been no movement in this case at all.

June 9th marks the 10 YEAR anniversary of the disapearance of Morgan Chauntel Nick. Does anyone live in the Arkansas area have any more information on Morgan?

Please go to her site and think of Morgan for a moment.

She is so beautiful.

If Morgan is still alive, one day as an adult, she will remember and want to come home hopefully..... I pray that this is the case. Sadly we may never know what happened to Morgan...at least not in this lifetime.

Have they ever contacted a Psychic?

My son and I discussed this just yesterday, we are believers and the bible says we shouldn't do such things. However, if my son was missing, I think I would out of desperation. I have read they were also believers and maybe this is an avenue they didn't take? I am curious about this.

Alma: Police quell rumors about Morgan Nick

Alma: Police quell rumors about Morgan Nick

The 10-year-old investigation into the disappearance of an Alma girl remains active, Alma police said Monday, because the case remains unsolved.

Alma Police Chief Russell White said his department has been flooded recently with calls from residents, the media and law enforcement, all asking about a rumor that Morgan Nick had been found alive. The rumors, White said, are false.

Calls about Morgan started pouring in to the Alma Police Department after missing Idaho 8-year-old, Shasta Groene, was found alive July 2, White said. "Our dispatcher can’t keep up with the volume of calls," White said Monday. "It’s been going on for a week solid. When you have other law enforcement agencies thinking she’s been recovered, it’s time to put a stop to it. We don’t need anyone stopping in the search for Morgan."

Even the FBI asked Alma police whether they’d solved the infamous Arkansas abduction, White said.

Morgan, 6, vanished June 9, 1995, from a downtown Alma ballpark. Police believe she was abducted by a man who witnesses saw hanging around the park in a red truck.

Morgan’s mother, Colleen Nick, said the recent rumors are painful.

Nick said the 10-year anniversary of Morgan’s abduction has rejuvenated interest in the case, as has the June filming of ABC television’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, featuring Nick and her family. "Who knows what starts rumors like this," Nick said Monday. "The heightened publicity, the TV show, Morgan’s on everybody’s mind."

Nick and her children, Logan, 13, and Taryn, 11, are the show’s recipients of a 6,000-square-foot home built last month in Alma.

The episode was supposed to air Sunday, but was pushed back indefinitely, an ABC spokesman said Monday.

The spokesman, who didn’t want to be named, said the postponement is not related to the rumors regarding Morgan.

White issued a press release Monday, saying "Morgan has not been found, and these rumors are false."

White worries that someone with information about the case might mistakenly think it’s been solved. "That’s happened before," he said.

Alma police have dealt with rumors about Morgan in the past, but the talk quieted naturally without police addressing them publicly, White said. "This thing just keeps growing and growing," he said.

It sure is a big coincidence that the FBI is suddenly asking questions now. Since the FBI was suddenly asking questions, at this time, that probably means they are checking for any connections to Duncan.

This case had been on my mind. It might be too late to jog people's memories, but they need to do an artist's painting of the truck. It's so hard to read through a description like that and end up with a clear idea of what the vehicle looks like - and a clear, detailed composite of what the man looked like. Pictures are better.

Prayers she is found. What a sad story. My middle son is now working concessions at our local sports plex, and they are told in training to be on the constant look out for pedophiles - and watch people who don't seem to have a "function" at the park. Coaches, parents, kids, players, siblings, are all there, and among them, every weekend, are pedophiles lurking. Scary.

Just a reminder this was sent to a list I belong to:

ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and John Walsh, co-founder of the
National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) teamed up to focus on the issue of missing children in a two hour special airing Sunday, August 14 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM CDT. The show highlights the abduction of 6-year-old Morgan Nick from Alma, Arkansas and the journey her family has endured since her disappearance ten years ago. Morgan’s mother, Colleen, and her siblings are the latest recipients of an Extreme Makeover and through telling their story hope to try and locate Morgan as well as other missing children across the country.

I saw the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition featuring Morgan's family. I cried through most of it. :( It was interesting to see the pictures of the missing children when John Walsh was on. I recognized most of them from reading here. Although I was cery disappointed that there was no information given on the little blond boy. Someone (can't remember who it was now) was talking when they featured his picture, and they never said his name. I hope that Morgan comes home to sleep in her purple room.

I saw most of the show but only taped the first hour! I did not realize it was broken up into 2 segments: 7-8 and 8-9. Can anyone who watched the second hour please list the children that were shown when John Walsh was talking? I would appreciate it!

It is so nice that Morgan's case and some other faces got national exposure. I hope some promising leads come in!

That was very interesting! I once read that this man asked the girls 2 questions but LE will not devulge what they were. After all this time, I think the questions should be known. It might help to locate a suspect if this male is a serial offender.

I wonder what the surrounding area is like. If this man had a camper were all campgrounds in the area throughly checked and searched? Where is the closed wooded area from the ballfield? This case needs to be made a priority! With help from the public, it seems solvable.

My 9 yr old dd and I watched Extreme Makeover together but I didn't think it was on 2 hrs here. The hr we watched started w/ showing pictures of missing children and then the remodeling of their house and the end results. My dd loved the 11 yr olds room. What was the 2nd hr about? Morgan's mom has such a strong belief that Morgan will one day come home. The outside light fixture that will be left on waiting Morgan's return was a beautiful touch. My dd asked if I thought Morgan would be found and I just said that it would take a miracle to find her alive. My dd then said "yeah, and another miracle would be to walk into a Wal-Mart and not see anymore missing children posted."

I just keep remembering Steven Stayner". He was 7 and remembered his real name. I'm absolutely astounded by the strength and courage Morgan's mom showed on the show.

Why I believe her about Morgan being alive? I TRULY TRULY believe in mother's instinct.... it is incredibly strong. I think this is one of the few children that maybe alive. Most likely living a very sad existence. But love can conquer all! I hope and pray God will allow something to happen soon to have this girl back home.

I am starting to believe that the suspect is not from Arkansas. No other non-family abductions have occured there in the past 20 years. I would not be suprised if he travled a lot and maybe lived out of his camper. I just think about the other girls calling him "creepy". I wish LE would give more details about what he asked them. It is more than time for them to devulge all info and ask the public to help.

Unless someone calls in a tip with a name of a person who fits his description or has inside knowledge of the crime, this case will go unsolved.

I have not been able to stop thinking about this case since the Extreme Makeover show. It was a great show and helped put the spotlight on missing children cases but I wish they would have given more details.

It points towards the fact that he had it all planned and just moved on afterwards. We have a programme called "Crimewatch" over here which solves a large propotion of of the crimes it features in its programme- and its only on once a month. When you get a really popular programme like "extreme makeover" featuring morgan and others- it only takes 1 person to see the pogramme and connnect a couple of dots and it could be broken. Somebody knows this guy. What happens a lot over here in the uk is that a policeman will call in and say "yeah I arrested this guy for such and such last week". I hope someone can bring Morgan home.

I had a dream about her the other night. I keep thinking that the man who took her drove to a campground that night. It was not very far from the ballfield. I wonder if police every throughly searched the campgrounds in the area and showed the suspect's photo to see if someone recognized him or his vehicle? I think this man was similiar to Joseph Duncan.

I live in Fayetteville, Arkansas, which is about a half hour from Alma. I'll never forget when Morgan went missing, for I had two boys ages 6 and 3 at the time. My oldest son and Morgan are now the same age.

This area is the Ozark Mountains, folks. It would not surprise me one bit to find out Morgan has been captive in these mountains all this time. I have heard of adult women that went missing from just driving through one county that is very rural and have never been found.

My husband and I both cried through the entire Extreme Makeover show. If anyone on this earth deserved that, it is the Nick family.

For those of you who want to read a lot of detail about this story here is a terrific link

http://www.ardemgaz.com/prev/nick/index.asp

The story is only updated until 1997 but gives a lot of background. I found it interesting that the sketch of Morgan's possible abductor was from another abduction attempt, in another part of town, according to the article. Its especially significant as there have been so few stranger abductions in that area (all explained in the article).

This is such a sad case - I am a mother to 2 young children and I often beat myself up about how over protective I am of them, as this mother seemed to when she let her guard down for just that little while. It must make things so much harder to know that her instinct was so right and a predator was infact lurking.

What intrigues me is the 2 questions or rather the question and the comment that were made to the kids and why that hasnt been released. What could possibly have been said that needs to be kept so confidential?

The Arkansas mother of a girl who has been missing since 1995 said she was surprised when she was asked to present a scholarship at what would be her daughter's high school graduation.

On Friday, Colleen Nick will present a $750 scholarship to a graduating senior, who would have been one of her daughter Morgan Nick's classmates at Ozark High School. Morgan Nick vanished from an Alma ball field almost 11 years ago.

School officials say the decision to create a scholarship in Morgan Nick's name came from the entire senior class. The 110 students in the class had money left over from various fund-raisers and used the money for the scholarship.

There will be two empty chairs at the graduation: one for Morgan, and the other for a student who died during the school year.

This is so sad. My son is also graduating this year, and there will be an empty chair honoring one of his classmate. She was killed in a bad accident a few years ago. I think it is great that Morgans class is remembering her on what would have been her graduation, but bittersweet for her parents.

I saw a show on this case yesterday...don't remember what it was called, but it was on A&E and it featured a host of psychics and cases that they had solved....Morgan's mom was on the show saying that she had heard from many psychics and it had led to misery, not answers in Morgan's case.

This was not CourtTV Psychic Detectives, but some of the same psychics were on it (e.g., Noreen Renier).

Are there other children who were kidnapped when they were young and united with their parents at a later age besides Elizabeth Smart and Steven Stayner? I can't think of any. It seems that it is pretty rare unless they are taken by a parent who didn't have custody which is way different from a stranger.

Both the abductors of Elizabeth and Steven kept them to use them. That male creep who took Elizabeth wanted her for a wife. Even though Elizabeth seems to be 100% alright I find that a little hard to believe. That horrible creep used her for 9 long months. There have to be some deep wounds. Steven Stayner's abductor kept him to use him for sex and then when he was in his teens he had Steven abduct little Timmy. That is when Steven determined that the creep wasn't going to hurt Timmy and took him to a police station.

I hope that Morgan is still alive but if it was that skanky guy from the baseball field that took her and it seems that it was I have my doubts that he kept her with him for long. If she is still alive I wonder if she remembers her parents and brother? She was probably told some story about her parents like Steven Stayner was. I think it would be hard to keep memories alive without someone to talk about the family and things that they did together like people do when a child has lost a parent. I think it would be hard to keep a positive attitude after all of this time. I don't really know though because I'm not in Morgan's family's shoes. Bless their hearts for never giving up. I guess each person deals with a situation like this in the way that is best for them emotionally and mentally. My heart goes out to every family of missing children/adults.

You never know what these loons have told the kids they take though. I mean adukts can be brainwashed if someone chips away at them long anbd hard enough so for these little ones at such a vulnerable age they could have been told anything. Didnt Stephens abductor say the family didnt want/ couldnt afford to keep him any longer.

What have the psychics told Morgans family? Are they under the impression that Morgan is deceased or have they told her mother where she is only for her to not be there? Just a shame they havent helped at all in this case.

It's no surprise that psychics have not found Morgan. There is not one single case in which they have solved a missing persons case using paranormal means. If it was real, every police dept would employ one. Insurance companies would have one on staff to help with fraud cases. The list goes on and on, but we don't see them employed anywhere other than for themselves.

Yes, that is what that creep told Stephen about his parents. I thought it was so sad that Stephen had such a hard time after he got home and then he met his future wife, got married, had two kids, and then was killed in a motorcycle accident. That just broke my heart after everything that boy had been through. So darn hard to understand....so unfair.

The thing I have noticed about psychics is they can't give a person the name of a town, anything that will help find a person. They say...a body of water or a house and describe the house. Nothing that would help just general stuff.
If they charge then they should be ashamed. They talk about their abilities being a gift...then they charge for the gift that doesn't do any good anyway!
Sylvia Brown charges $400 for a session. My daughter's friend's mother was murdered when the friend was in the 7th grade. The killer was never caught. As an adult she wanted to know what happened to her mom and called the number for Sylvia Brown....$400...she said to forget it!

Yes surely if you did infact have 'this gift' you would feel the compassion to help people in this situation as much as you could.

I think perhaps some of the psychics perhaps want the notoriety of being 'attatched' to a certain case.

I have just finished reading the book by the father of murdered English schoolgirl Holly Wells and there is alot of interesting stuff on psychics and how they came into that particular case in that book. Quite interesting. Its called 'Goodbye Dearest Holly'.

Anybody want's to charge money for there help in a sad case like this Watch-Out they just in it for the money is my personal belief...Some Privite Investgater's is no better and maybe worst that the crook's they try to catch..Most missing kid's 60% or more I think will cross the state line's right after they are grab..Look like the Federal Govt. would have special crew's that only work on these type of case's if anything this be very good training for new agent's paired with a few older agent's and myself I think each state should have special state trooper's that only will work these type of case's too Missing kid's and missing adult's I think each state has enough case's to keep them busy..This don't happen in all case's but what I seen some LE will put more time in a $175. dollar store robbery than a missing kid case mainly over not they don't want to look for the kid but "higher-up's" put a priority on there case's..

If I had the gift of being able to find missing people I would be all over the place helping people. It would be great.

I think each city should have certain detectives strictly for missing people too. Especially in the larger cities that have so many missing. The smaller towns have less missing and the departments can't afford special detectives.
I don't remember there ever being a missing child from my county. I don't even remember any missing adults. I'm not complaining though. We've had some murders but not many. But I do have to say that even though LE here isn't handling murders everyday they did an excellant job on my daughter's case and they never gave up looking for the killer after he ran. It took 8 yrs to catch him but I know that they tryed everything possibe to catch him.

Bobbisangel: you make me feel like Iam not the only one with these new idea's..These idea's are not that hard to make come true!!!! We have something politician's fear the most The power of vote...This site here be a good place to lauch a petition drive if the people that run it don't mind..We get enough name's on a petition about what we want changed in our govt. our Politician's will help our dream's come true.. Now the road is not allway's easy or paved and we will have to stay together on our change's we want.. A new trick some of the most dirty Politician's use is get some of there special people in the group in question and cause trouble because they have there own Pet Project's and they don't want to rock the boat too much so there own Pet Project's will get passed,,But if we put a stop to any action like that what so ever and stay on course on what new law's we want I see no problem of us getting what we want. You can just look at this site at all the missing children we have in this nation and you can tell we do have a major problem and any new law's that has been passed so far is not slowing down much of our problem... The more name's we get signed on board with us the less problem's we will have getting what we want......I been watching this missing Morgan Nick search and this is a very sad case to say the very least..Myself I feel it should of never happened...I might of missed it but I didn't see where any on-duty LE was there....And I only could wish the adult's was told about this "creepy" person was talking to there kid's as soon as it happened.. I know myself armed with a gun or not I sure would not want to see 30 or 40 Adult's walking toward's me with softball bat's in hand....I still can't get over how brave this creep was This I don't think was the 1st kid this guy grab..

Yes, whatever this guy said to Morgan must have made her think it was ok to go with him.

Its strange, but reassuring isnt it how many people hear about this case and feel that Morgan is still alive.

If some pervert got ahold of little Morgan I don't think that she would still be alive. They usually don't want to drag a little kid around with them. It's hard to tell though. I understand her mom still having the hope that she is alive. I can't say how I would feel because I haven't been in Morgan's mom's shoes. Sometimes these perverts do keep the kids but not often. If he did keep her I hate to even think of what her life has been like. I just wish that her mom and dad would find out one way or the other. It has to pure hell to have a child missing. I can't even imagine what it would be like. I honestly don't know if I could survive having a child missing for years and years.

Welder...

There is a group in Idaho who are trying to get a bill passed that will keep a child sex offender in prison for the rest of their life after the 1st time of hurting a child. It didn't pass this time but they expected that. If I get another email from them I'll post it here and maybe we can all sign the petition. I think that is all a child sex offender should get. You hurt a child once and it is bye bye and you don't get a chance to do it again. The group is tied to Dylan and Shasta Groene. I think the group mostly covered the state of Idaho but they are trying to get the info spread out now and into other states. I wish Mark Lunsford had created "Jessica's Law" to read this way instead of giving the creeps more chances.

bumping for Morgan....

how amazing to still have hope after all this time..nearly 12 years. Of course, hope is probably what gets them through the day...

Morgan, I hope that you are home soon. Whether it be the way we all pray you will come home, or in a form that will give your family closure, because this torture of not knowing where you are is worse for them then not knowing at all.

Bumping...

It's been a year since the public was reminded of these families' torment when Shawn Hornbeck, then 15, and Ben Ownby, then 13, were rescued from the Missouri pizza-parlor manager who had kidnapped and sodomized them. Shawn had been held captive for four years; Ben, for four days. The older boy's recovery reignited the possibility that other coldcase missing children might be found alive. "It's proof positive that missing children can come home," says Colleen Nick of Alma, Arkansas, a national advocate for missing children whose 6-year-old daughter, Morgan Chauntel Nick, was abducted in 1995 from a Little League baseball game.

Bumping for Morgan.

I saw her story profiled on an E True Hollywood Story about kidnappings last night.

I pray that Morgan is reunited with her loving family one day soon.
