WOW, it's here. The day we've all been waiting on is finally here. It's almost hard to believe, isn't it?
We've been together holding vigil here for almost 3 years. Hundreds of devoted members spending countless hours working together - sleuthing the pings, the duct tape, the fibers, the stain in the trunk, reading thousands upon thousands of pages of documents, watching hundreds of videos, and disecting them all with precision a neurosurgeon would strive to achieve. The work done here has been remarkable. Nothing short of amazing. I am truly honored to be a part of such a wonderful group of people - dedicated to one cause - seeking the truth in the quest for justice for Caylee Marie Anthony. So, THANK YOU ALL FOR EVERYTHING OVER THE PAST 3 YEARS! I could not be prouder of us and the work we have accomplished. We now move on to the final phase - Justice.
There is one very important mod issue to take care of and it is for everyone's own good, so please read carefully.
As stated in the Rules, Websleuths is a victim friendly forum. It is also a juror- and witness-friendly forum. Being called as a witness for one side or another does not cast a shadow on one's reputation. Attacking or bashing a witness is not allowed. Discussing witnesses' behavior, good or bad is fine, but do so in a civil and constructive way and ONLY IF IT IS RELEVANT TO THE PROCEEDINGS.
We are so VERY adamant about this issue that:
No one will be permitted to post in this real time thread until they have "thanked" this post so we know you have reviewed it and are fully aware of this rule.
The consequences for sleuthing, bashing, or posting any speculation unsupported by live links on any witness are severe - IF ANYONE SLEUTHS, BASHES, OR SAYS DEROGATORY COMMENTS ABOUT ANY WITNESS, THE POSTER WILL BE RESTRICTED FROM POSTING IN THIS FORUM FOR THE DURATION OF THE TRIAL.
Don't forget to "thank" the post if you intend on posting in the real time threads. Anyone who has not thanked it will not be permitted to post in the trial threads.

Back to whining about needing the SA's witness list so they can pull files. HHJP is NOT a happy camper about that - saying if you're gonna play these games, then I'M gonna play. If this isn't fixed - then you got 35 minutes for lunch and we'll go late. Also, said they will be working half day on Sundays.

This is a completely different Judge Perry that we are seeing. I'm just thinking back to all the previous hearings and even last week during jury selection and how relaxed he was but he sure isn't like that now. Wow, what a way to start the day Mr. Baaaeeezzzz.

State has not provided a list of witnesses (did anyone catch who they were calling next? I didn't recongize)... and the D of course isn't ready...
Judge says get it together, or you'll be running by my times... half days on weekend.
I agree, the State should atleast let them know the morning of who they plan to call.

What's with the file issue? Shouldn't there be some sort of standard protocol for this? Why doesn't JB know what that protocol is? Where are all the states files? Put em next to those ! ;)

In this day and age, who drags around a bunch of paper files? There are tons of Case Management software out there. They should have had all of this stuff scanned, digitized, OCR and indexed for quick, easy searches on their computers!

The judge told the DT that he would get them storage last week. The witness list was discussed last week and the DT knew they were NOT going to have a list.
Once again the DT struggles to perform in a professional manner.

There is no reason they should not know who the witnesses for the day are.
This is supposed to take 8 weeks. These shenanigans could make it take a lot longer.

That woman (ICA) has to be medicated, just has to be. For a majority of the time she's got that glazed look in her eyes that only someone who's on something shows.
I found it interesting that most news outlets barely reported on the states opening, it was mainly about the 'bombshell(s)'. I guess in that respect JB got what he wanted, attention focused somewhere else.

I think HHJP is unhappy with the delay. The defense filed a motion last night for more investigative hours. I think that delay is what the judge is not happy about.

Some may think this is silly, but I believe both sides have the right to know each witness is going to be called. How on earth is the defense going to get ready for cross if the SA picks a witness out of their hat and the DT doesn't have the file.
Or, am I getting the wrong end of the stick?

:twocents: Heck, if the SA has to give a list of 40 names......I'd offer them perhaps 60 or more per week!...It would keep the order some what a secret yet still keep HHJP a "happier camper". However, I'm betting EVEN with a ROAD MAP of witnesses, JB would be lost BUT DCS would be the organized one!
BTW: Imagine IF the SA had provided a list for ummmmmmm say day one and THEN they had to "bump up" GA to first, betcha JB would be whimpering about THAT!:banghead::banghead:

Baez asked for this list last week showing in which order the SA was going to call witnesses but HHJP said legally the SA did not have to provide it. I guess after yesterday JB decided he needed it.

I don't know? Maybe be organized and have the files in alphabetical order so they can find them quickly?? Their lack of organizational skills in a first degree murder trial is not the State's fault. They have no obligation to the defense to release the order of their witnesses. It's just the defense wanting the State to continue to do their job for them!

This just seems to be a bullying tactic by Baez to get the list of witnesses in order. He knew by pushing this issue, JP will lean on the prosecution to just give him the list so as not to waste time.
eta: I'm actually a little disappointed that JP doesn't see through Baez's method of getting what he wants and seems to give in to it.

That woman (ICA) has to be medicated, just has to be. For a majority of the time she's got that glazed look in her eyes that only someone who's on something shows.
I found it interesting that most news outlets barely reported on the states opening, it was mainly about the 'bombshell(s)'. I guess in that respect JB got what he wanted, attention focused somewhere else.
I am STILL perplexed by her constant "clenched jaw look"...
Sure wish someone who knows how (cause I don't!) would post a side by side photo comparison of KC in previous court appearance against one from now...
It almost appears to me that she has some kind of dental prosthetic in her mouth...hmm...

HHJP knows that JB is unorganized, but I think he is starting to get a little angry at the way the SA continues to try and make him look foolish. The judge wants this case tried with speed, so the more games he thinks the SA is playing to try and make JB look foolish, the more time it wastes with JB complaining about it.
Basically HHJP just wants the SA to be upfront, since they have the slam dunk case, and get this over with, with as little JB whining as possible.

Will Anne Finnell just show up for the penalty phase now? I did not see her yesterday and I don't see her today.
I don't blame her even a little bit for wanting to stay away as much as possible from that fantasy OS Baez gave yesterday. She is about the only defense team lawyer I have any respect for and if I were her, I too, would try to do my job and keep a very, very low profile as long as I was associated with this...er, bunch.
I doubt we will see her too often, but probably sometime before penalty phase. :dunno:
I'm surprised the DT can find anything - remember their table at the hearings.
Why aren't their files in digital format?
If the SA gave them the names at say * am, they should be able to have them ready by 9 AM
can we say "whining and stalling"?

Some may think this is silly, but I believe both sides have the right to know each witness is going to be called. How on earth is the defense going to get ready for cross if the SA picks a witness out of their hat and the DT doesn't have the file.
Or, am I getting the wrong end of the stick?

The problem is the DT has been too busy on national TV interviews to have properly prepared their witness notebooks and organize their files to be easily accessible. :loser:
The SA is not required by law to give them crapola, so why should they have to ONCE AGAIN do the DT's work for them?
It's simply another delay tactic and an excuse for the DT to whine that they are "disadvantaged". :loser:

Putting all documents on a CD would cost money and most likely it would be on JB's dime. Hence no documents on CD.
If I were the SA, I'd give them a large, secure room in the Courthouse to store all their files so I would not have to give them my witness list, but that's just me :)

No suprise to me that DT do not have their files scanned and available in a database for instant retrieval. JB used a freakin' whiteboard yesterday with a pen that ran out!
CM & JB are not ones for new fangled, fancysmancy technologies - remember the debacle early in the case when they couldn't view evidence from a CD or some such thing?

Baez asked for this list last week showing in which order the SA was going to call witnesses but HHJP said legally the SA did not have to provide it. I guess after yesterday JB decided he needed it.

The DT has the witness list just not the order that they are going to be called in.
HHJP ruled last week that the SA did NOT have to provide it. That is like the SA having to turn over their game plan.

The problem with that is HHJP has already said to the DT that he can't make the SA give him the list and in order to accommodate them he would provide more storage room for their files. In essence he was saying come prepared.
Yes the SA out of professional courtesy could give them the list. However the DT in this case hasn't shown the SA any professional courtesy. It's a two way street I'm afraid.
