I agree...we have

1.) GA
2.) CA
3.) LA
4.) Tow Lot Owner
5.) OCSO CSI (Bloise) - testified on Saturday
6.) Voss

Anyone else?

Yuri Melich, the dog people, ICA herself (something died in my car, squirrels crawled up there, dead animal plastered to the undercarriage)

If it were that simple, something tells me that the video's would have been ruled out as something significant and released a long time ago.

The State may have only just found them.

because a person who drowned wouldn't show signs of trauma to the skeleton. Truly one of the most specious bits of reasoning I have ever heard. She could go on to say the skelton is consistent with suffocation, aneurism, heart attack, stroke, or any other non traumatic event. Truly truly a wicked and twisted rationale. Horrifying.

I don't think their ME gave a cause of death...all we have heard was it can't be murder if there isn't a cause of death.....(which drives me nuts)

The Home Depot videos (or their mention of existing) were released in a 4-08-11 Doc dump previously linked on this thread and the dates are:

24. CD-R - Home Depot Video, 5-23-08, 6-29-08, 7-5-08
25. CD-R - Home Depot Video, 5-29-08

Two of them are obviously well before Caylee died, so if there is any evidence of her buying chemicals, masks, duct tape, etc. in Ma it will point to premeditation. The one on 6-29 might be her looking for a gas can and who knows what she was there for the day AL was returning home.

It's odd to me that she would be spending any stolen money on anyone but herself unless it was something important. I mean, it's not like you can buy sunglasses, bras and beer at Home Depot.

I am very curious about the May 23 and 29 2008 videos...can't wait to see them.

I will have to go back and look at the pings..I thought she spent Sunday June 29th with TL? she drove him to the airport the following morning..

July 5th was the day Tony was due back in Orlando and also the day Casey was out shopping with Will Waters.
They went to Ikea next to the Mall at Millenia, of note, there is also a Home Depot in that retail area on Millenia Plaza Way

I was thinking about the jury during lunch break. They can't discuss the case with each other as Judge Perry's instructions.

My guess is that the jurors respect that and most likely talk about "their lives" or their children or careers.

I thank the jurors for taking on this long trial for the benefit of justice. God bless them!

I know LP bailed her out and then later revoked. Why did parents not bail her out? Or did the bail increase after CA's remains were located.

Thanks from a newbie.

Did not have the cash to put up the percentage of the total bond requires. In debt up to their eyeballs...

I was just about to post that! I couldn't believe my ears when she said that!! How can a skeleton be consistent with drowning?????

Inquiring minds want to know! :banghead::banghead::banghead:

I think what she (LBK) is claiming is that there were no signs of trauma to the bones (knife marks, bullet holes, broken bones, etc.,), therefore it COULD BE consistent with drowning. HOWEVER, what she fails to mention, along that same line of thinking, is that it could also be consistent with smothering/suffocation - the extenuating evidence in this case supports the latter rather than LBK's claim.

No, Ryan whatsisname from IS gave LKB a flattering comment along the lines of, "where is she, seems like this defense needs her" and she said "I know, I feel like that's my baby out there (the defense case) and I'm not with it."

This followed a bit where they were discussing how LKB had been a DT member and did some depos for them last year.

okay I get it now...her baby may be the deposition of Dr Vass and she would have done the cross IF IMO she did not bail on this case.

Casey Anthony Trial: Air Samples of Anthony's Trunk Could Be O.J. Simpson Moment"Snip" By JESSICA HOPPER

The judge in the Casey Anthony murder trial is expected to decide whether to let jurors smell air samples from a car trunk that witnesses have said reeked of human decomposition.

Racoons with 9 inch hair that has female Anthony mitocondrialDNA in it! What are the odds??????
:floorlaugh: Shhhhh! Don't point out the obvious mistakes yet! Let the DT argue this in their closing argument and then let the prosecution give their rebuttal argument and use this as a primary example of the quality of the defense logic.

"They would have you believe that reasonable doubt exists because a mythical racoon with 9 inch long hair with the female Anthony mitrocontrial DNA in it -- COULD have had the hair band. Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, this is the kind of "pie in the sky" theory that does not form the basis for a reasonable doubt. That leaves you with the truth as shown by the State's evidence; a death band was on Caylee's hair in the trunk of the car that was being actively used only by Casey."

DT gets no more opportunities to speak after that. It is the last thing the jury hears other than the judge's instructions before they go into deliberation.

Does the evidence support an accidental drowning? IMO I don't think so

Duct tape on Caylee...a few pieces of duct tape..
Levels of chloroform so high..much higher than normal compositional events
Computer searches for How to make Chloroform...
and so on...

So the above leads LKB to believe it was an accident.:waitasec:

So to summarize Dr. Vass' testimony (at least regarding the odor signature of human decomposition):

1). Dr. Vass smelled the distinctive odor of human decomp from the carpet sample taken from the trunk of ICA's car.

2). He analyzed air samples from various locations inside ICA's car, and found that chemicals associated with human decompostion were present in the air samples taken from ICA's car.

3). Dr. Vass concluded, from both of those findings, taken together, that a decomposing body was, at some point in time, in the trunk of ICA's car.

Seems pretty cut and dry to me.

Another poster determined it was made from IIRC, a town an hour away from Orlando. My question is, could that be where the IP is 'registered' or something similar, and the actual device that it was done on be in another location?

I'm looking at his page now, and in the Revision History section the most recent one I can see is November 2010.

Can someone help me find where you can see the biochemist removal part?

Here is how the Wiki Edits broke down:

17:55 - Someone added [sic] "bichemist"
17:55 - Same Person corrected spelling to "biochemist"
17:56 - Different IP address removes the word "chemist" and "biochemist"
17:57 - Original person added "biochemist" back to the entry.
17:58 - 2nd IP again removes the word "biochemist" and changes "Forensic Chemsitry" to "Forensic Science"

Interesting exchange.

Re: that tweet ---
My son is not a "chemist" but he plays one where he's employed; and that is his official job title. lol

Sooo, just because you are not a chemist, in the true sense of the word, doesn't mean you can't perform work that a bonafide chemist would/could do.

The bombshell the JB didn't know the answer to was why Dr. Vass didn't include the air sample from the trunk in his 'chart' in the report - because no trunk liner was there

It could have been the differences between draft rpt and final rpt (he listed different amts of chemicals found and said that is because some of the same checmicals have different names and he failed to cross duplicate items off the draft rpt)

It could have been the 3 cars in draft rpt and 2 cars in final rpt which Dr. Vass said was also an error which he signed an affadavit regarding - there were 3 samples and 2 cars

Do you feel the same way about scientists who believe in a Being who listens to their prayers, answers them, and will some day be together in a place called Heaven?

I'm just curious, because I don't think a scientist's personal beliefs should matter. Divining rod or God, both are unfalsifiable.

It's the science being testified to that matters, IMO.

It's not really the same thing. Here we are talking about the relatively unverified methods Vass is testifying about and I think that can be seen to parallel his belief in diving to at least some extent. I thought Baez did a good job in his final cross trying to point out Vass overextending himself in his opinions and that type of thing might be buttressed by his affection for divining.

Objectively speaking, there were points Baez should have pressed Dr Vass on, but he didn't, which hurt Baez badly, which hurts his client far more. If he really cared about a vigorous defense, he would have passed Dr Vass to Sims. At least she has practical experience, IMO. I have the utmost respect for Dr Vass and his work, but a better lawyer could have done damage control and given Dr Vass' testimony a problem, so to speak.

I'm glad Baez's cross was a fail; he made very little headway and no real dents in JA's direct exam, but I can't help but think Baez's failure is mostly due to his inexperience.

I wonder what the jury must be thinking after Baez's cross.

Iactually am not surprised that there wasnt alot of fluorine element in Caylee's decomp fluid ()..she was less than 3 years old...yikes We are in general a toxic garbage bag of all the ca&&olla we shove into ourselves over the years..so NOT surprised Caylee didnt have such an accumlation..JMOO of course..Most certainly nothing that should compromise the results found in the findings:twocents:

I don't know what was the best moment from today!

1. Baez unable to spell iron or magnesium
2. Bringing up the use of recreational drugs & tying them to the inmate
3. Baez unable to pronounce the names of basic scientific instruments or Greek people
4. The thought of eating multiple pounds of raw hamburger meat in a trunk with a plastic bag on one's head
5. Vass being able to talk about "the stain" on multiple occassions in front of the jury (What you talkin' bout, Willis?)
6. Baez objecting to his own question.

Ah, Baez. He really is the gift that keeps on giving. Anybody need a new bikini?

If Baez were smart, he wouldn't have gone after Vass, but instead driven home the point that Dr. Vass didn't collect these air samples personally, and thus can not testify as to whether nor not these air samples were contaminated or not.

Gosh, I never knew it took such a vast amount of knowledge to be a lawyer. I had often thought I had wanted to go in that direction. You have to be alert in so many areas! And a defense lawyer as everyone on tv is saying "doing their job", encroaches involving so many low brow tactics. How can an honest person ever be a defense lawyer?

Wow, I nodded off and got left behind...........I can't help but think that there was also cloroform left over from other times that she "put" Caylee asleep. I certainly don't think that this was the first and last time that she used cloroform.

During Dr. Vass's testimony, IIRC, he said the chloroform had a high evaporation rate and that the high levels achieved "over time". That said, to me, this was used over and over and over. To add to that, I believe he said at some point over the course of 8 hours of testimony, he referred to it as not only chloroform, but "manufactured chloroform". Anyone else catch it?

Everything was new at some point. I think he's a very courageous man. He's basically going where no one else has gone before...and with such passion and dedication. Scientists can be so emotionless when it comes to their work...but this man sees the good it brings to the world and you can feel it.

That terrific and for Caylee's sake I hope the jury shares your view. But that's not what scientific testimony in these types of trials should be about. It should be about science that has been thoroughly vetted, shown to be reproducible, and about results that have been generated through highly controlled conditions.

During most of this trial I have just sat there scratching my head thinking wth is the DT doing? Yeah go with the accident theory it's all you have but why attack the forensic evidence in this case? Just go with it you already admitted Caylee was dead on the 16th so why contest the evidence of decomp?

My theory. It's not the decomp that scares the DT. Its the elevated levels of chloroform that Dr. Vass found. Since the DT can't make the chloroform go away they are forced into arguing against all of the evidence Dr. Vass analyzed. It's that double whammy of chloroform and duct tape that is going to be in the jurors minds. Especially when they start deliberating premeditation.

That or the DT has absolutely no idea what to do and is just tossing stuff into a fan and praying.

Curious Me

I heard on a talk show last night something about it being real...meaning as a sexual abuse survivor she's checked out? Why do you think that wasn't expressed to it's best advantage by the defense. They had LKB,when Dr. Vass' findings came out. They have Sims and they certainly have had time to get experts to ,not only rebutt, but to help them form a good cross.

It's up to the defense to raise these issues ,in such a way, that it helps their case.

I agree, Turnadot, but I think it has even more to do with his overblown EGO, than just his inexperience.

I think Baez was hoping to dazzle the court with his imaginary brilliance.

I also think Baez was very aware that this was ground-breaking testimony, in the way DNA was ground-breaking testimony not too long ago- and Baez wants his name in those legal history books.
