PLEASE avoid posts that are:

I'm going to try to clarify a few things so hopefully we are a little clearer about what is okay to post in this thread and what is to be saved for Sidebar. Hope this helps. :)

Re: posting Tweets - Previously we have requested that all tweets be restricted from this thread and posted in the Twitter thread. Posting single tweets from anyone inside the courroom that can shed light on what we are unable to see via our monitors are fine to post here. (note: repetitive, multiple posts of the same tweet will be removed at mod discretion so they do not clog up the thread.) Most all of these will be from MSM reporters - I really can't think of any exceptions off of the top of my head. If they can tell us how jurors are reacting, that is huge, relevant info and we need to see it here. I ask that those of you who do post tweets still include them in the Twitter thread because we have many members who log in for a quick update and depend solely on that thread.


Re: posting about the demeanor of the defendant or witnesses -
This is the deal:
It is perfectly fine to post FACTS & OBSERVATIONS about their demeanor. (e.g., Casey is emotionless; Casey is giggling while listening to this testimony, etc...)

It is the "Casey's blouse is so low cut she must be trying to get the attention of Juror #11, the George Clooney look-a-like"; "eyebrows and hair" ('nuff said :aktion1:). Bottom line, if it doesn't add anything to understanding what is going on during TRIAL, then save these comments and post them in the Sidebar. Express those sentiments there. (Remember! TOS and Rules of Etiquette still apply in Sidebar: no namecalling, bashing and derogatory remarks simply intended to be snarky.)


Okay, I hope that helps clarify a few things.

Morning all....one step closer to Justice for our little Caylee!

Finally able to get caught up from being gone for over a week on my cruise, but yesterday bored me to tears! Lets hope today is a little more "exciting" and then I wont have to find some housework to do, lol!

With all this attention to this trial,I just realized last nite that I am missing the Jason Young trial,it is on at the same time and I really wanted to watch that.Hope he gets his too,that was a viscious murder.Watching KC I truly believe she is a sociopath.

I'm a Type I (juvenile) diabetic, and I only need to check before I eat (or if I suspect I'm having a hypoglycemic episode). Not really sure why JB needed to bring that up.

From what I can tell that is getting not even a fraction of the attention that the Cooper trial did. Maybe because that's a forgone conclusion?

That's not necessarily true if he is a type one diabetic. Stress messes with your blood sugar big time. If the dude happens to be newly diagnosed, he may be nervous about how it all is going to effect his BG. Don't make these types of assumptions people.

I can test up to 5 or 6 times per day, depending, but in a 30minute to 2-hour time frame (expected for the witness), I would only have to test if I felt there was a reason.

Two of my four children are Type I...agree. They would never want that brought up. They both have insulin pumps and are quite discreet.

I am type 2, and I check 3 times a day, but type 1, I think they have a routine and they pretty much know how they are doing, unless he is sick or overly stressed. I think it wouldn't be a problem if you tested yourself before testimony and an hour goes by no worries. Hmmmmm.......

That's not necessarily true if he is a type one diabetic. Stress messes with your blood sugar big time. If the dude happens to be newly diagnosed, he may be nervous about how it all is going to effect his BG. Don't make these types of assumptions people.

Type 2 here and I check 6 to 8 times per day in order to maintain tight control. Each diabetic is controlled individually and testing is an individual thing. He may be a 'brittle' diabetic which is a uncontrolled type of diabetes and can be caused by many things.

Not to knock this young man's accomplishments, because he seems to be bright and accomplished, but it will be hard for him to discredit Dr. Haskell's testimony...I am sure he knows of Dr. Haskell. Wonder if he is nervous:)

Good morning all! My late husband had diabetes and eventually was on dialysis, he only checked 2 - 3 times a day per doctor before meals. Between meals a small snack is all that's needed.

JB just wants to drag it out! :maddening:

I'm a Type I (juvenile) diabetic, and I only need to check before I eat (or if I suspect I'm having a hypoglycemic episode). Not really sure why JB needed to bring that up.

No kidding....especially since during hearings he was SO super secretive about Dr. Spitz and his infamous chicken bone. He practically begged to have that info sealed and was befuzzled when JA just out and talked about it in court! :loser:

Training - His entire focus has been forensic entomology - insect evidence.

Certified diplomate of the American Board of Entomology - the only certifying agency in the world for forensic entomology. There are 15 members in the U.S.

He has several publications and book chapters, as well as non-peer reviewed papers.

He has conducted several studies. Entire graduate career focusing on forensic entomology.

Consults with LE and works as a deputy sheriff.

OBJECTION - SUSTAINED - disregard last statement

Received awards from U of Neb and ABE.

OBJECTION - OVERRULED

Consulted for law enforcement 65 times. Likes to go to the scene when possible. Other than that, it gets sent to him.

He has done a number of invited presentations to a number of different agencies, has traveled outside country, teaches a class at U of Neb as an adjunct professor and teaches at Concordia.

Diplomate of the American Board of Forensic entomology - highest level. Qualifications - submit case studies, level of education and publications. At the time he joined, he was the second member to join. There is a 12 hour exam.

From what I can tell that is getting not even a fraction of the attention that the Cooper trial did. Maybe because that's a forgone conclusion?

Tried to catch up a bit on it last nite,seems to be mostly local coverage,but at the time it happened it got national coverage,guess that's why defense lawyers like lots of time to pass before trial,in most cases the public's interest does fade over time.

I don't think that JB has much to get from this guy. JB just goes on and on about stuff (now we get the history of entomology). He tries to fool the jury that he put on some info for the case when most of what his witnesses say don't mean anything to this case. By the time Baez makes his point the jury and the public is asleep from boredom.

on tv today they said a fight broke out betweeen group of woman and a man . the ladies-lol- hit him with a water bottle!! no one arrested. i went to trial 3 times and got in but i now stay home and watch on tv- too nuts!!!

JB having the witness start again because he was drawing too small. Using modern technology would really stave off these kind of problems!
