OMG...I don't know if this is still funny or is it just sad.

SATA

He scraped the skull and kept it for possible testing and then was told it was tested by the county or he doesn't know who. He understood it was going to be sent for testing.

So you don't know if that is brain dust or debris do you?

He doesnīt care - as long as he gets to go on TV, heīs happy. I donīt like this man.

SuziQ
06-18-2011, 11:56 AM
Dr. Spitz appear to have a "god complex", imo.

Seems to be an affliction that affects the entire LKB bunch, Dr. Baden, Dr. Lee. They all show up in high profile trials and are obviously less than honest.

MissJames
06-18-2011, 11:56 AM
I know some are feeling sorry for this man because of memory problems but I don't think it's memory problems. I think he's just lying. I think he DOES like high profile cases and loves the media attention. Professional witness.

Oh,I agree. His history speaks for itself, but I think we are seeing both. Why would he lie about not remembering an interview done this week? It's public.
I think he really does not remember. I lived through this ,but it's still JMO.

TortillaChip
06-18-2011, 11:56 AM
okay, he got him here, by saying that he did not examine the residue, and that it was under water.......this was all he needed, imo, GO JA.

Storm

I don't think so. JMO

Dr. S is too proud and determined to admit he has no clue what is going on ^i^

I think Ashton is doing a great job; I don't think he's trying to embarrass Spitz, but he is getting right at the facts and impeaching Spitz. Spitz is babbling on and on...painful to watch.

fla*mom
06-18-2011, 11:57 AM
And he has nerve to say that Dr. G's was shoddy!

06-18-2011, 11:57 AM
How is it going for the State? Do you think Ashton is making headway?
Headway is putting it mildly. He's rocking this cross like there's no tomorrow.

Solomisskitty
06-18-2011, 11:57 AM
Sometimes he remembers, and sometimes he doesn't. What good is his testimony?

Some of the lapses may be a matter of convenience.

Kimster
06-18-2011, 11:57 AM
Sometimes he remembers, and sometimes he doesn't. What good is his testimony?

Personally, I think he remembers. I think he would rather not tell the truth.

I don't like this witness and I hope this ends his career as a "professional witness", which I'm putting lightly. What justice is there in a witness like this?

CementPond
06-18-2011, 11:57 AM
Then he says if someone else wants to test it, go ahead. NO!!! YOU SHOULD HAVE done that!! WOW!

I can't cut/paste from this article because it is copywritten, but see especially: Section h, #vi (6).

(vi) Palpate the head and examine the external and internal surfaces of the scalp, noting any trauma or haemorrhage. Note any skull fractures. Remove the calvarium carefully and note epidural and subdural haematomas. Quantify, date and save any haematomas that are present. Remove the dura to examine the internal surface of the skull for fractures. Remove the brain and note any abnormalities. Dissect and describe any injuries. Cerebral cortical atrophy, whether focal or generalized, should be specifically commented upon;

Drama Queen

"Believe me, please believe me....."

You couldnt write this stuff.

Casey is NOT happy or amused anymore. I think it is dawning on her the circus of her defense.

Any person who needs to plead for people to believe them is not trustworthy in my opinion. :loser:

He just pointed out the hole in the skull....

Donjeta
06-18-2011, 11:57 AM

Ouch. Slam dunk.

pinkfly

"salty water.....so called saline".......is he questioning that Dr G used real saline solution?

Ashton tells the witness that the skull was rinsed before he (Dr. S) received it.

Chiquita71
06-18-2011, 11:57 AM
Skull of KC Anthony...you mean Caylee Anthony.

Believe me please...

This is the end of the road for him IMO. THis case has ruined him.

:blowkiss: SOTS (missed you yesterday)

He needs to be DONE! He should not be allowed to give his opinion on the price of bread. IMHO.

He is just babbling. Talking about soft tissue and that it was just deomp and then says this is the lower jaw. he does not need to research to know what is happening. He does not need that, it speaks for itself: repeated over and over again.

JA: so you don't need a chemist or a lab tech or anything you just know

if somebody would look at it I would have no problem with that.

This WITNESS did no examinations on Caylee's remains. NEXT!!!!

MissJames
06-18-2011, 11:58 AM
I understand. But it's not fair either that he keep working, keeps testifying in important cases, if he's not capable of it anymore. His job is very important and if he's not able to perform at his best, then he shouldn't in my opinion.

I agree. Sadly,it's hard to convince them that they have a problem.

barrysgirl
06-18-2011, 11:58 AM
I don't think that his age has anything to do with anything. if you look back at his history of testifying, he ALWAYS acts this way on cross. He gets mad as all heck when he feels like people are asking him questions that he deems unimportant. In his mind, he is all important and should NEVER be questioned. What you are seeing is not dementia, it is ego.

ohiogirl
06-18-2011, 11:58 AM

Troll time.

Okay. Everyone have a nice day. I can't sit on my hands hard enough and I am a big big woman.

:blowkiss:

JUSTICE FOR CAYLEE!

Chiquita,
Nooooooo......Don't leave!

Overly huge woman here. No way can I sit on my hands too long or I will stop all circulation, possibly causing permanent damage so I put the keyboard on the other side of the room.
It means I have to
get up off my fat arse and walk across the room if I have something to add to this discussion.
Gives me a chance to cool down a bit before I type something I am gonna regret or something that will get me bounced into next year. :)

I was soooo ready to make comments about Dr. S's testamony but knew my comments would be too negative so I was glad at that point that the keyboard was across the room. :)

At least give it a try.............before you decide to leave.

Dr S believes he has the ability to just LOOK at things and know what it is. He is so good, so experienced that there is no need to run tests.

What is he talking about "sleeping drug medication"???? He's talking about other autopsies, I think. I am concerned that he gets his work all mixed up.

word of the day: kerfuffle

Definition of KERFUFFLE
chiefly British
: disturbance, fuss
Examples of KERFUFFLE

1. <predictably, the royal scandal caused quite a kerfuffle on Fleet Street>

Origin of KERFUFFLE
alteration of carfuffle, from Scots car- (probably from Scottish Gaelic cearr wrong, awkward) + fuffle to become disheveled
First Known Use: 1946

word of the day: kerfuffle

Definition of KERFUFFLE
chiefly British
: disturbance, fuss
Examples of KERFUFFLE

1. <predictably, the royal scandal caused quite a kerfuffle on Fleet Street>

Origin of KERFUFFLE
alteration of carfuffle, from Scots car- (probably from Scottish Gaelic cearr wrong, awkward) + fuffle to become disheveled
First Known Use: 1946

wenwe4

JA to Dr. Spitz - you like high profile cases?

involved in Phil Spector case, OJ case....yes
menedez brothers? no

when opened skull you broke it didn't you? I broke it I didn't know I broke it...I don't know that I did that I saw break...

Spitz did not do any chemical tests...scraped some if it and gave it to....kept it for possible testing by police lab...
don't remember who did it...don't remember it is brain dust or debris do you? that is settlement of a decomposing brain and surrounding soft tissues by decomp...believe me this skull of Caylee is not the first decomp skeletal remains opened and found this kind of residue ....routine finding and mentioned in his book....without examining can't know if brain dust or just dirt...not just dirt...residue by decomp brain by gravity...

get information about area where skull was found...Spitz went there - given info this are a is under water occassionally....yes understand that...underwater...residue of brain dust...not just sediment...yes it is decomp brain falling...it couldn't be dirty water enter skull ...this sediment is so common in skeletal remains subjected to extensive decomp of brain and soft tissues...almost as definitive a finding as to say this is lower jaw...dont need to research it ...it speaks for itself...don[t need to bother to have sediment examined by geologist, chemist, know better than anyone else you know that is brain dust...if someone wants to analyse it they can....that is Spitz opinion

wash the skull to get trace elements from skull...aware that ME took saline put it thru the hole where he put finger/pen - swished and removed whatever came out...no posible way the settlement of water....reason sediment is on that side is cuz weight to it ....not first autopsy..object sustained cm's

requested by prosecutor of Riverside Calif...skeleton buried in mountains of Riversice opened skull - same residue sediment in the bottom noted sleeping drug in the sediment...that is why finding here....determine skull must have been on left side...otherwise he would not be here...this brown sediment did not respond to swishing it is sticky ...sticks to bone....it will be there....in other case sent the sediment for chemical analysis....there was someone to give it to from prosecutors office. an advantage having 2 people doing autopsy....if he was there with Dr. G he would havedemanded .....open...instead of inject fluid into closed box could have avoided Kerfufle...he doesn't have a lab to analyse....put your skull back together & approach witness?

your theory this skull decomposed on left side of the face...@ time of decomp brain is still relatively intact....skin on face and hair on skull,....decomp hair is sluffing off the skull....force of gravity hair would naturally fall this way...no hair would move but directly fall not sure....hair is kind of clumped together ....much of tissue is received creamy salty stuff keeps hair together...when disappeared the hair will stay on the scalp...many people come and move it the hair would move to...
skull in this position, skin and brain completely decomp...hair still in place? it would have fallen....difficult to hear)

mass of hair top of skull ...hai would go down no t up..mass would fall this way...some would fall that ...mass of hair would be on the side? some could be on right side...some would fall off the back...some spread on skull when picked up (kc turns away) sticky material....#219

Sociopaths are very observant and mimic emotional response from others as they are unable to genuinely feel them. Much discussion now about Caylee's hair and which way it was falling. Dr S says she has long hair and the hair is sort of glued or sticky to the bone. That hair which matted itself to the skull when the head was placed in that location.

That makes totally logical sense. When I worked at the ME's office here in Orlando (Dr. G's office) we did an average of (5) autopsies per day. So let's say if he worked 5 days a week that would be 25 autopsies performed per week which averages out to 1300 per year. Keep in mind the ME's office doesn't close for the weekend, they are available 24/7.......so performing a 1000 autopsies in one year is totally logical.

As a Paramedic here in Florida I have taken care of thousands of patients in 27 years........

Casey really gets freaked out by skulls, appears to the point of phobia. I wonder why. Perhaps I should send her some skull stickers. This case has made me mean! lol

Yeah, well, she liked them well enough before she went to jail, if I recall her photobucket images -- plus her well-known love of snuff films and death lyrics...

This case has made me think and say things I did not know I felt.

Witness is not senile, he is slimy. IMHO.
