For a robbery, sure, phones are taken...but it sounds like only phones and a baby were taken here...

Yes, but we don't REALLY know if anything else was supposedly taken in this case do we? I know we haven't heard of anything else...but I know someone earlier said that perhaps it started as a robbery. I personally now don't believe it was, but I'm keeping my mind open.

Capt. Steve Young said he never said that mother failed miserably and blamed mom for saying that...Fox said "We have that confirmed by law enforcement official" and Steve Young said "I won't answer to that, I am the speaker for this case."
He won't give details as to why family won't cooperate. But it was CLEAR they said cooperation is done.
Said their door at police is open and they've NOT spoken with family since yesterday when they "said no more cooperation by us."
Wont comment on cell phone records.
Can't say about that 2:30 am phone call as part of case.
Dont read much into the mobile command post coming down. It was due to logistics to be close...still investigators together and command post is now elsewhere.
Said not for him to say if family has lawyer.
Absolutely would love to interview family again and feels the family could help with investigation.
Said "I am the voice of the investigation"
Father said he came home from work at 4am.
Young said he doesnt know where he was at work at. (I DOUBT THAT STATEMENT)
(reporter)People worried mother has something to do that mother has something to do with baby.
Young...investigation driven by facts, and no suspects right now.

I had brought this yesterday's Orlando news story up earlier this morning:

A 70-year-old woman who was beaten and robbed by home intruders.

AND...

Deputies are still searching for the robbers, who also took a cable box and several phones from Bell's home.

http://www.clickorlando.com/news/29409403/detail.html

What is it with missing phones?????

Crazy, right? But, I've seen lots of stories where perps invaded a home specifically to rob it - taking everything they can grab and tossing what they can't sell. This could include cable box, phones, and anything they could easily apprehend (especially if disorganized thieves needing drug cash). They might harm or kill a homeowner in the process. But, to grab phones and nothing else when the mission is to abduct a baby undetected makes no sense. Never heard anything like it. Nothing indicates that robbery was the intent here, so I think the only reason the phones were removed from the house with the baby is because the phones contain evidence related to the child's disappearance.

O/T: I read a local story where a druggie robbed a guy at night. Took his wallet and his cell. PD caught him the next day. They called the cell pretending to know the guy who answered (high as kite) and asked him where he was. PD went to the location, called the guy again on the cell, heard it ring and watched the guy answer it. Unbelievable.

Can't confirm why - that's an interesting way to put it. I've never seen LW announce the parents are not cooperating like this in this manner, but then also state they have no suspects. What is going on??

"Irwin, an electrician, said he returned from work around 4 a.m. Tuesday and discovered Lisa was missing. Bradley said she last checked on the child around 10:30 p.m. and that when Lisa disappeared she was asleep in her bed with her 6-year-old son and a stray kitten they found earlier in the day. "

It's actually been reported both ways.

Wasn't it In da Middle that said last night that pick-up on that street would be Friday (today)?

That could explain why searching landfield today....LE may have had that neighborhood's trash placed in a specified area so it could be gone through easier that sorting through half the town's.

Lisa Irwin timeline

Monday October 3, 2011

Abducted by intruder through bedroom window. Far right window of house.

UPDATE—according to police spokesman window may not be correct.

3620 block of North Lister 64117

CORRECTION TO ABOVE GIVEN BY JEREMY IN PHONE INTERVIEW 10-6-2011

Lisa in bed at 7:30 p.m. Debbie in bed at 10:30 after checking on Lisa. 5 year old son slept with Debbie in parents room. Point of entry by abductor was unlocked front door, window mentioned earlier was NOT tampered with.

UPDATE 10-6-11 3 cell phones also taken. One does not even work. Also, dad came home to find front door unlocked, most of the lights on and front window open.

Jeremy Irwin, Lisa’s father, told local media that whoever took his daughter also took all three of their cell phones so they couldn’t call anybody, including 911.

~she grabbed the boys and went out into the yard and flagged down LE when they pulled into the yard

~she said nothing else appeared to be missing but she does not know

(thank you NBM)

Other two sons asleep in different bedrooms. (sons are half brothers to Lisa-the 6 year old is Debbie’s and the 8 year old is Jeremy’s from previous relationships.)—Correction. One son—the 6 year old was asleep with the mom and a stray kitten he had found earlier in the day.

Father is electrician that works nights. This night was the first night he EVER worked at night.—Jeremy http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/video/miss...olice-14688735 (http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/video/missing-baby-lisa-irwins-parents-stop-cooperating-police-14688735)

Mother is a SAHM--Debbie

Monday October 3, 2011 10:00 p.m. Last seen in crib wearing purple shorts and purple shirt with white kittens on it.

**Possibly seen by Mr. Parscale (a man that lives in the area) according to his wife Lisa around 12:00 a.m. Tuesday wearing only a diaper being carried by a male. Quote from Lisa--“He seen the guy act like he was going to go into a residence,” Parscale said, “but then my husband drove off so we’re thinking that maybe he was just doing that so that my husband would leave.”

**Parscale says her husband saw the man walking on a street perpendicular to North Lister, where Lisa Irwin lives with her parents and brothers.

Tuesday October 4, 2011 3:30 a.m. (first report stated it was 4:00 a.m.) Father returns home from work and discovered baby missing from crib.

UPDATE at 2:00 p.m. October 4 presser Capt. Steve Young speaking—Parents’ story has no holes. Looking into neighbor that possibly saw Lisa being carried by the male. No suspects other than neighbor sighting.

Tuesday October 4, 2011 approx. 7:00 p.m. amber alert cancelled. Lisa is considered a MISSING/ENDANGERED JUVENILE. Per police the alert has served it’s purpose. Police and dogs will search for a while into the night.

*** Tuesday night authorities searched a van and car at the home. There is no word on what police found or were looking for. Officers searching for the child focused on areas near the family's home such as railroad tracks near the north side of the Missouri River and a wooded area behind the home. http://www.fox4kc.com/news/wdaf-authorities-continue-search-for-missing-baby-20111005,0,6273053.story

Tuesday 9:25 p.m.

Mass exodus of police from the command center. Looks like K-9's are finished searching for the night. Police search will continue in AM
by cliffjudy via twitter (http://twitter.com/CliffJudy/status/121410556468015104) 9:25 P

**family stayed with relatives after being questioned until 10:30 p.m.

Wednesday October 5, 2011

9:00 a.m. press conference Capt. Steve Young speaking—basically no new information. Still searching with dogs, however there have been no hits. Parents not ruled out, but also not suspects. Very cooperative.

** KMBC's Jana Corrie: Children who were also inside the home at the time of the disappearance staying with neighbors

**conflicting reports…unless the Grandparents are being referred to as “neighbors”

NBC Action News reporter Sloane Heller reports Lisa’s grandparents are watching the couple’s other children and have not been able to reach them since earlier Tuesday.

Next news conference sometime this afternoon.

2:00 news conference—Jeremy spoke with Deborah (Bradley?) by his side. Begged for baby to be dropped off somewhere safe. The brothers are waiting to see their sister. Declined to take questions.

Again, Capt. Has no leads, not ruling out anything. 300 knocks and searches. 46 tips. No ransom note. Family is free to go where they would like. Family does not want to be at house.

**Alleged sighting of Lisa with a middle aged white male and female at a Love’s gas station in St. Joseph, MO I-29 and US HWY 169. Driving older model SUV. Article came out around 5:15 p.m. Surveillance video has been turned over to LE. Police say it doesn’t seem to be a major lead.

Thursday October 6, 2011

**Jeremy and Debbie provided LE with a list of 9 names of people that could be possible suspects.

**Per Debbie regarding cell phones and possible other missing items:

~one of the cell phones did not work.. all three were on the counter and she was in the midst of reprogramming them/putting numbers into them

~phones were gone

~she did not notice if anything else was taken.. all she cares about is that the baby was gone.

~she grabbed the boys and went out into the yard and flagged down LE when they pulled into the yard

~she said nothing else appeared to be missing but she does not know

(thank you NBM)

http://livewire.kmbc.com/Event/Live_Blog_Amber_Alert_Issued_For_Missing_10-Month-Old

** police detectives are meeting early this morning to talk about where to search next.

**per Debbie, “Lisa is very sweet and will go to almost anybody.”

**per Jeremy, window was not tampered with, so perp (s) must have come in through unlocked front door.

**Lisa went to bed at 7:30 p.m. Debbie went to bed at 10:30 after checking on Lisa. 5 year old son slept with Debbie in parents room.

***Debbie and Jeremy have a heated discussion with LE before speeding off in police car to command center to find out about possible new lead. http://www.fox4kc.com/news/wdaf-lisa-irwin-parents-have-heated-discussion-with-police-20111006,0,5671503.story

Capt. Steve Young said he never said that mother failed miserably and blamed mom for saying that...Fox said "We have that confirmed by law enforcement official" and Steve Young said "I won't answer to that, I am the speaker for this case."

Respectfully snipped by me. Veeery interesting, particularly if this truly came from LE and was confirmed. Do they have a leak? Someone stirring the pot? I really can't see the family of Lisa stating something like that, because it moves things from being sympathetic towards them towards suspicion again - just look at the shift we had here when that was announced.

I wouldn't put it past Fox to be bending the truth quite a bit ("faux" news, anyone?), but if it was a confirmed LE leaking that, then what is going on??

UPDATE 10-6-11 3 cell phones also taken. One does not even work. Also, dad came home to find front door unlocked, most of the lights on and front window open.

Jeremy Irwin, Lisa’s father, told local media that whoever took his daughter also took all three of their cell phones so they couldn’t call anybody, including 911.

Police have confirmed for KCTV5 that authorities are currently on site at Deffenbaugh Industries, located near I-435 and Holliday Drive, searching the landfill for missing 10-month-old baby Lisa Irwin.

http://www.kctv5.com/story/15642798/authorities-search-joco-landfill-for-missing-baby-lisa

I know I'm not the only one, but my heart is so absolutely broken for this darling little innocent baby :tears: I am usually a skeptical type, believe me, and I KNOW what the odds are as far as a stranger breaking into a house and taking a baby, and all that....but with Lisa I felt it really could be different....I just couldn't fathom that she could be deceased :( I STILL don't want to believe it will turn out that way. But honestly, if a stranger DIDN'T take her.....what other possibility is there for her still being alive?

Sorry, my 'spidey senses' still say something isn't adding up. I'd love to believe a mom couldn't be involved and then beg for her child back, but i'm too biased now. Especially after the KC case. I will always scrutinize every piece of 'evidence' and if stories don't work, you have to question.

I don't go by polygraphs, i go by gut and by body language. From a LE family and i've been brought up to question... especially if its an IMPORTANT issue.... and there is NOTHING more important than an innocent child.

As for it being an accident and then a cover-up.... can totally buy that these days. Too many don't want to take responsibility or even have anyone think they were a 'poor parent' and unfortunately, because of the debacle in Orlando, i have a feeling we will see more of these 'kidnappings' where an accident will tried to be covered up because "if you keep the body from being found, you can walk free'.

Just makes me :furious:

I also read that this was the second search of the landfill.
I read that too...

If true, sleuthers are dropping the ball! ;) (just kidding!)

Respectfully snipped by me.

Dad checked on the kids because he was alarmed at the lights being on and the door unlocked. It was not the norm, and so he was worried, per initial reports.

Ah, ok, thank you for clarifying. There are so many threads to read :)

However, doesn't this remind you of BD and her checking on Hailey Dunn that Monday morning before she left for work before Hailey disappeared?

Also what reminds me of that same case is BD too said she failed a lie detector on national tv.

Wow...that is interesting! Did anyone else hear in the past pages that the garbage in that area went out the following morning after Lisa went missing? I would have thought that the garbage would have been checked or maybe I read this wrong.

Trash for the neighborhood was collected this morning so this search makes total sense for the timing. It would be at the landfill by now as it came about 7:30 am or so.

Very little chance she is alive, if NOT a stranger abduction, I'm afraid.

I just caught myself sitting and staring at the bottom of the news helicopter on the livestream. I have no idea how long I was doing that.

I just wanted to share... :)

My husband frequently works late...(2 or 3 am) and ALWAYS checks on the kids when he gets home. But, I'm also OCD and check doors and windows and sleep with my cell phone by my bed.

same here

I'm in the UK, so Im not entirely sure what that would look like ... but the camera followed a white van (that looked much like a plain ambulance) for quite awhile.

Hats off to the local media there. They have done a bang up job pulling together great web pages for Lisa with all the links like this one from KCTV:

http://www.kctv5.com/category/222182/search-for-lisa

NBC Action News did the same on their site - a great reference source.

KCMB put up a separate FB page just for Lisa.

Numerous reporters have been steadily tweeting and getting the word and the news out.

What a shame the parents aren't taking advantage of this kind of dedicated coverage for their baby, because she sure needs it, and these reporters and news stations are pulling out all the stops to provide it.

in this article it says (page 2) that this is the 1st time JI has worked the night shift and also the 1st time deborah had not locked the door.

Sorry, but that sounds like a bunch of bs to me.
LE and psych. need to talk to the other 2 children.

Thanks for the timing confirmation. It does make good sense. If it's a public dump site (as I believe Nurse confirmed upthread), I can see LE doing a search there immediately after the baby was reported missing in case the perp dumped the poor baby's body or other evidence there. It's logical to search again after the local trash was taken to the landfill in case a body (or related evidence) had been tossed into the garbage.

I hope they do find "related evidence" at the landfill, and not Lisa. So hoping she is still alive and well.

Awful lot of "coincidences."
