23 year old Heidi Villarreal Fye was a cocktail waitress, last seen on October 10th 1983.

Her remains were found in the League City, TX Killing Fields on Calder Rd. after a dog carried her skull to a nearby house on April 4, 1984. She had vanished six months earlier after walking from the home of her parents to use the phone at a nearby convenience store. The medical examiner noted Fye had broken ribs and had been beaten with a club. She may have died from blunt force trauma to her head. Fye and Miller disappeared from the same convenience store at Hobbs & W Main in League City, Texas. Also the very same duplication of arrangement of the cadavers, laying on their backs nude with their arms crossed over their chest.

Jane Doe - Calder Rd

February 2, 1986 four boys riding dirt bikes on Calder Rd in League City, TX smelled a foul odor. They located the skeletal remains of a (still unidentified) female, and called the police.

Dubbed "Jane Doe," it is estimated that she died six weeks to six months before being found; she had been shot in the back. She perhaps had been shot to death by a .22 caliber weapon. Part of a bullet was found with the cadaver at the medical examiner's office. (Ruined as evidence). The autopsy also revealed healed fractures of the ribs. She is described as being about 25 years old, being between 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, about 140 to 160 pounds, with light reddish brown shoulder length hair and had a distinct gap between her upper front teeth. She was about fifty yards from where Fye had been found. While investigating the scene the police found yet another body the same day.

16 year old Laura Lynn Miller, a Clear Creek High School sophomore.

Laura Miller was missing shortly after the Miller's family moved to League City, on September 1st 1984. Their phone wasn't working yet, so she had been talking to her boyfriend on a payphone (at the very same convenience store where Fye was last seen). She insisted that her mother let her finish her call and she was old enough to walk home. She never arrived and the police implied to her father that she was a run away. Tim Miller had found out about Heidi Fye's murder and wanted the police check the same area for his daughter. Fye and Miller disappeared from the same convenience store at Hobbs & W Main in League City, Texas. Also the very same duplication of arrangement of the cadavers, laying on their backs nude with their arms crossed over their chest. Miller was victimized twice, by the killer and by the system. The same day as Jane Doe's body, the police while looking for clues stumbled upon Miller's remains on February 2, 1986 she was shot in the head. She was only a mere twenty yards from Jane Doe.

11/3/2001: LEAGUE CITY - A Texas prison inmate has confessed to killing as many as six women in Fort Bend and Galveston counties, including some at the infamous site here known as the "killing field," authorities said Friday. Mark Roland Stallings, 34, has not yet been charged with any of the murders, however. The sheriff said that, although physical evidence is lacking, charges against Stallings are likely for the April 1986 slaying of Benna "Bea" Bowen, 27, and the June 1989 death of 18-year-old April Eaves. "He's convinced the detectives that he legitimately was there at the time," Wright said. "There are details that only the investigating officers or those close to it would know. He had some of those details. "He also led them to the scene, which is not an easy scene to find since it was out in a pasture. The area had changed considerably since the time the murders occurred and when he was back here, he was still able to take them back there."

09/27/2011: Galveston police investigated an imprisoned murderer, who recently claimed to have killed four girls in the county decades ago, but officers found nothing to support his statements, authorities said. Edward Harold Bell, 72, sent letters from prison to the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office in 1998, claiming he was responsible for the deaths of two high school girls from Galveston and two middle school girls from Dickinson, the Houston Chronicle reported Sunday.

Shelley Sikes

Shelley Sikes, 19, left her summer job at Gaido’s restaurant for her Texas City home but never made it. Her car was found on Interstate 45’s northbound feeder road about a mile north of the causeway. Her body was never recovered, but Bayview resident John Robert King and El Lago resident Gerald Peter Zwarst were later convicted of aggravated kidnapping, the most severe charge prosecutors could pursue without a body.

Darlynn Foster - Murdered 09/15/1989 in La Marque, TX

LA MARQUE - Police said Monday they were stumped in their search for a motive in the slaying of a La Marque woman. The body of Darlynn Foster, 35, was found in a field in the 2400 block of Maxwell about 4 p.m. Friday after she was shot with a .22-caliber bullet, said Sgt. Frank Bostick. Investigators said they suspect she was shot in her home and then staggered to the nearby field. Blood was found in a hallway in her home, but there were no signs of forced entry or robbery, Bostick said. Police said a relative had stopped by the sister's house about 3:45 p.m. and noticed that Foster was not at home and that the front door was open. LE found Foster's body in the field near the home. All four tires of the victim's car had been slashed. They said there are no suspects in the case.

Unknown Doe - Found near Huntsville, TX 11/01/1980

Unknown Doe - Age about 14 to17, Caucasian, brunette. Dumped on I-45 about five miles north of Huntsville on November 1, 1980.

She was nude, had been strangled with pantyhose and had human bites on her body. Described as 5'4" tall, 110 pounds. A truck driver found her body. The victim's body was dumped on side of I-45 north, 2 miles north of Huntsville, TX. The general condition of the body and her overall health and nutrition indicated she had probably come from a middle class home. There was no identification with the body. No semen was found on or in the victim's body.

When the murder became known through media, several people came forward and said they’d seen a teenager matching her description the day before her body was found.

A witness identified the victim as a girl who had been at the South End Gulf station around 18:30 on Halloween night asking for directions to the Ellis prison unit.

She had been wearing blue jeans, a yellow pullover sweater with big pockets that hung below her waist, and she was carrying high-heeled sandals in her hand. To the best of his recollection, she had been let out of a 1973 or ‘74 blue Chevrolet, possibly a Caprice, with a lighter colored top, which was being driven by a white male. She looked disheveled like she had been traveling, and perhaps sleeping in her clothes. She left the station, walking north on Sam Houston avenue. A waitress working at the Hitchin’ Post truck stop on Interstate 45 said the girl came into the restaurant the same evening and again, asked for directions to the Ellis Unit, saying she had a friend there. A map was drawn for her and she departed. The waitress asked the girl how old she was and the girl responded 19. The witness thought that was an obvious lie and then asked if her parents knew where she was. The young girl replied, "Who cares". The witness then stated she asked her where she was from. The girl replied Aransas Pass/Rockport, TX area. It has not been verified that the girl was the unidentified victim.

Her photograph was shown to every inmate at Ellis Prison Unit, but no one claimed to know the girl.

On January 16, 1981, the unidentified girl was buried in the Adickes Addition at Oakwood Cemetery. Huntsville Funeral Home buried her, and Morris Memorials provided her tombstone. It is believed that Henry Lee Lucas killed this girl, but investigators could not make a match between the bite mark on her left shoulder and his dental reconstruction. STILL UNSOLVED.

Laurie Lee Tremblay, 15 - 09/26/1986 Killed - Houston

Laurie Lee Tremblay – Age 15.
Tremblay, 15, was found slain behind a Ninfa's restaurant at 10694 Westheimer about 7:10 a.m. Friday, less than an hour after she left the nearby apartment she shared with her mother at 12735 Whittington. She was on her way to catch a bus on Dairy Ashford at Westella to the Montrose-area school she attended.

Investigators with the Harris County medical examiner's office said the girl was strangled with some type of cord. Police said they have no leads or motives in the attack. There was evidence she may have been killed elsewhere and then dumped behind the restaurant.

One of Anthony Allen Shore's strangulation victims, killed September 26, 1986. She was last seen alive walking from her family's apartment to the bus stop; Shore dumped her body behind a restaurant. Shore once reportedly lived in League City, the Galveston city where the infamous "Killing Fields" are located. Where 4 other victims have been discovered between 1983 and 1991.

18 Mile Road is found near the bottom tip of the island, located in the lower left corner of this image.

Skull Found – Galveston - August 15, 1980 - A human skull was found on West Beach near 18-mile road Friday evening by two beachgoers. The skull was partially buried in the edge of a sand dune. The people who discovered the skull took it to Galveston Island State Park where they called police.

Sgt. Danny Perez of the Sheriff's Department said the discovery of the skull is a new development in an investigation that has been going on since Monday 8/10/80 when a jawbone was found on West Beach near 7-mile road. Since then, a human leg bone was found at 11-mile road and a human forearm was found on the beach near Galveston Island State Park. After the skull was returned to the area where it was found, Galveston Police and Galveston County Medical Examiner Dr. W. M. Korndorffer searched the sand and found no other human remains. Korndorffer said the skull may be that of a young female; the skull contained no wisdom teeth which would indicate the person was young. Based on an initial examination of the skull, Korndorffer said it may match the jawbone that was found earlier in the week.

A small amount of blonde hair was still attached to the skull and a handful of hair was in the sand below the skull. Korndorffer said there are missing persons in the area who match the description of the skull, believed to be a teenaged female. He then said "the rest of the skeleton will probably show up later." He said he doesn't believe any more bones are in the area where the skull was found. Korndorffer said he will put all the bones together Saturday morning, and try to see if they belong to the same person. He said it is too early to guess at the cause of death until more tests are performed.

End of quote.

It is a strange curiosity on my part.
But if there were more houses in the area.
I wonder why the dog picked this particular house?
Perhaps it was the dogs home?

I just find it fascinating she was found because a dog
took her skull to a particular house/why that one?

addon1...
If a LEO was here.
I would ask to check and see whom was living at this house around the time the girl became missing.
Was it the same person living there when the dog brought the skull to the house.
Or was it someone different living there at the time she became missing.

I am thinking wayyyyyyyyy outside the box.
But I wonder if it could be possible the dog brought the skull back to the place the dog
thought she was last at or had a connection to.

Though it could be the dog lived there and just took it back to play with.

I'm trying to make sense of your response. Move the post? To where? And why wouldn't it be posted here? Please clarify.

I believe the dog took it to his owners home, which is near the field. Out in the country, there is no reason to leash your dog or keep them in one's yard.

I think Mr. TT thought these threads were just for reference and not discussion. We might decide to copy the cases to stickies later, but for now it's fine to use the "decades" threads for discussion.

Fye and Miller disappeared from the same convenience store at Hobbs & W Main in League City, Texas. Also the very same duplication of arrangement of the cadavers, laying on their backs nude with their arms crossed over their chest.

(The first link is more about Laura Miller, but since I'm not sure if my earlier post is being questioned for accuracy regarding Fye's skull, the linked ABC News article does refer to the skull being carried by a dog)

quote...at which the dog lived,...end of quote.

That is the part of the sentence i was having problems finding.

http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/story?section=news/local&id=4430654
The first victim, Heidi Fye, was found in 1984 after a dog carried her skull to a nearby home.

http://psu-sk.tripod.com/frames/i45-calder.html
23 year old Heidi Villarreal Fye was a cocktail waitress, last seen on October 10th 1983. Her remains were found after a dog carried her skull to a nearby house on April 4th 1984.

But your other link proves the dog took it back to its dog house.
So it was where the dog lived.

http://www.chron.com/CDA/archives/archive.mpl?id=1993_1156110
quote...The first grisly discovery came in April 1984 when a dog dragged the skull of Heidi Fye into his doghouse. Soon, officers found the rest of the 25-year-old League City woman's skeletal remains...end of quote.

Was not questioning your accuracy.
Just wanted to know for sure if that's where the dog lived.
Thank-you for replying and giving me the link to show the dog did in fact live there.

Hoskins Mound is right next to Danbury, surrounded by small bodies of water

Jane Doe – Hoskins Mound - She is thought to be 12 to 17 years old, Caucasian Female, death estimated to be around 1975 - November 11, 1980 - HUMAN SKULL FOUND IN HOSKINS MOUND in Brazoria County (Torso, limbs, hands not recovered); Sheriff's Office investigation is currently underway in connection with the weekend discovery of a human skull in the Hoskins Mound area, Sheriff's Office Captain Gene Smith said Monday.

Danbury resident was "working some cattle" in a pasture located near CR 203, approximately one half mile off of FM 2004, when he noticed the skull, according to Smith. Sgt. Harry Stiles of the Investigation Division subsequently recovered the skull, which appeared to have been in the pasture for an extended period of time. Smith noted that even though the skull appeared bleached out, the teeth were intact except for two upper teeth which appeared to be missing. No dental work was evident. "It was pretty well weather-beaten," Smith said of the skull. He added that the skull showed no sign of fracture or gunshot.

A Monday search of the site resulted in the discovery of two additional bones, which investigators believe to be arm and leg bones. The bones were found within close proximity of the skull, which was located near a drainage ditch, Smith said.

The Doe Network: Case File 340UFTX

Unidentified Biracial or Asian Female

The victim was discovered on September 27, 1987 in Houston, Harris County, Texas. The victim was located in a vacant field at 8100 Leghorn, Houston, Texas.
Cause of Death: Multiple stab wounds
Estimated Date of Death: 3-24 months prior
Skeletal Remains
Estimated age: 15-25 years old
Approximate Height and Weight: 5'0"
Distinguishing Characteristics: Race is mixed. Primary race is White. May be Asian. Black or Brown hair, 8 inches in length (may be synthetic).
Clothing: Tan, short sleeved, round neck T-shirt, with brand name "Gulf Coast Sportswear" with logo bearing "Sam's Place 97 Rock Houston Gamblers" on the front, lettering is orange. A red strapless bra; white leather type shoes with small heels, size 7. A belt with mans belt buckle; blue jean shorts.
Dentals: Available; 1, 17, 32 - partial root formation.
DNA: Available; mtDNA & nucDNA Profile available - FBI NMPDD.

This case may have a direct connection to fans of the Houston Gamblers franchise. The victim was found wearing a tan t-shirt with "Sam's Place, 97 Rock, Houston Gamblers" printed across the front in red. In addition, the victim was wearing a red strapless bra and size 7M white leather shoes with small heels. It is possible that the victim acquired the shirt at a function held at "Sam's Place." It is equally possible that the victim purchased the shirt from a thrift shop or other place with no connection to the Gamblers or their fans. With that being said, the most obvious clue to follow is to learn if any patrons of Sam's Place or fans of the Gamblers recognize this female.

Lorraine Migl Light
Missing since November 23, 1989 from Spring, Harris County, Texas.
Classification: Endangered Missing
* Date Of Birth: July 23, 1968
* Age at Time of Disappearance: 21 years old
* Height and Weight at Time of Disappearance: 5'3"; 105 lbs.
* Distinguishing Characteristics: White female. Hazel eyes; blonde hair.
* Marks, Scars: Discoloration on left leg.
* Dentals: Available * DNA: Pending

Light was last seen when her mother-in-law dropped her off in the parking lot of her apartment at about 02:00 am. Earlier that evening, she had gone to get groceries to make Thanksgiving dinner for her 3-year-old daughter. After that Lorraine went out with friends.

When her sister came home at around 03.00, to the apartment she'd shared with Lorraine, she wasn't there. In the kitchen, the sister saw grocery bags on the floor and a turkey defrosting in the sink.
The answer machine was blinking, and when the sister played the message, she was confused. The caller said it was Lorraine, but it didn't sound like her, saying she had met someone and was going to Mexico for a few days. Her sister knew Lorraine would not have left, especially on Thanksgiving. Plus, she says, whoever had left the message called her "Cindy", a nickname Cynthia says, Lorraine never used.

When Lorraine didn't show up by Thanksgiving evening, her sister got concerned. She called police, and Harris County Precinct 4 Constables responded and took the report.

At some point, the case was transferred to the Harris County Sheriff's Department's Homicide Division, and the records have been lost.
Foul play is possible.

In 1995, six years after Lorraine disappeared, two witnesses said they had overheard the father of Lorraine's boyfriend talking in a nightclub. "He made some admissions", says Clopton, regarding the Lorraine's disappearance. "They'll never find her," was one of the remarks the witnesses passed on.
Cynthia says, upon being told of the overheard conversation, she filed a report with the Sheriffs Department. Today, that report is nowhere to be found.

Eilenne Schatelowitz, 22, whose body was found March 26, 1986 in a League City drainage ditch. Schatelowitz, 22, of Santa Fe, a mother of three who was separated from her husband, was last seen the night of March 25 after leaving a Dickinson convenience store where she worked.

Larry Wayne Herrington, 21, and Jonathan Bradford Bristow, 20, both of Dickinson, were jailed in April 1986 when they were stopped by police in Shawnee, Okla., for driving a van which belonged to Schatelowitz. The body of the victim was found March 26 in a ditch off FM 1266 near Houston Gulf Airport in east League City. She last had been seen the night of March 25 after leaving a Dickinson convenience store where she worked. The suspects are accused of strangling Schatelowitz, dumping her body in the ditch and taking her van after she agreed to give them a ride.

Police Detective Rex Fancher said there appears to be no connection between the Schatelowitz case and the deaths of two other young women whose bodies were found in the League City Killing Fields.

Della Marie Hillard
Missing since May 4, 1988 from Houston, Harris County, Texas.
Classification: Endangered Missing

* Date Of Birth: August 3, 1955
* Age at Time of Disappearance: 32 years old
* Height and Weight at Time of Disappearance: 5'5" (165 cm.); 120 lbs. (55 kg.)
* Distinguishing Characteristics: White female. Blonde hair; green eyes.
* Marks, Scars: Della has a hysterectomy scar on her abdomen and a rose tattoo on the outside of her right thigh.
* Jewelry: She was known to wear a Houston Baptist University class ring (solid gold, no stones), 5-6 gold hoop earrings and several diamond studs in each ear.
* DNA: Available in CODIS

Circumstances of Disappearance
Hillard was last seen in Houston, Texas on May 3, 1988.

She said goodbye to some friends on May 3, 1988, around 20.00, and circa half an hour later, she told another friend on the phone that she was going to sleep.

Hillard's boyfriend went to her house the morning of May 4, 1988, but Hillard wasn't home. He called police after learning she wasn't at work. Hillard's car, a 1979 AMC Spirit sedan, was found the next day at an apartment complex at 12800 Dunlap, about a mile from her home. The car appeared to have been ransacked and her purse was missing. There was blood on the back and the side of the car.

Hillard's apartment was in good shape, and it appeared nothing had been taken from it. Some of her windows were open, but she often left them open. She had moved out of an apartment complex into the house just two months before she disappeared.
Police suspect foul play.

Terry Diane Walden, a 24-year-old nurse from Beaumont and mother of two, told her husband on March 21 that a bearded older man had approached her and asked if she would pose for him as a model. She had turned him down, but he had asked her to go with him to his car to see some samples of his work. She requested quite firmly that he leave her alone. Then two days later on Friday, she disappeared. Her husband failed to make the connection at first.

A friend had seen her around 11:30 that morning, hurrying through the student union at the college where she took classes, and her orange Mercury Cougar was gone from where she usually parked it. Her frantic family went through the weekend trying to locate her.

Then on Monday morning, March 26, a worker found her floating facedown in a canal near a dam. She was fully clothed. The pathologist found that she had been tied up with different types of rope at one point, gagged with tape, and stabbed multiple times, but there was no indication of sexual assault.

The Perp was Christopher Bernard Wilder.

Where Is Shelley Sikes?
Two Who Know Want Out of Prison … Cops, DA, Say No Way

The two men never made admissions to
sexual assault but at one point Gerald
Zwarst tells in his confession that he
remembers John King being in the back of
the truck with Sikes, but he didn’t know
what King was doing. “We have a pretty
good idea what he was doing,” said
Kessler.
According to Hansen, that night the two
men drove to King’s parent’s home in
Bayview, taking Sikes with them, where
they got a couple of shovels. The investigators
estimate this was about one o’clock
in the morning as King’s parents slept.
“As part of his confession, King says they
buried her alive,” said Kessler. “I asked
him, ‘how do you know she was alive when
you buried her?’ and he gave me this look
and said, ‘because the ground was still moving.’

On August 31, 1983, the nude body of Susan Eads was found lying in a ditch at NASA Rd 1 and Elam St. in Seabrook, TX. Susan was born in Mississippi but had lived for six years in Seabrook where she was a disc jockey and a waitress at the local Holiday Inn at the time of her murder. She was last seen the night of August 31, 1983 in Jason's Brown Saloon in Webster where witnesses say she refused a dance and a drink from a dark haired Caucasian man. Witnesses also observed her being followed to her car by a man. Her body was found the following day. She had been sexually assaulted, beaten and strangled.

In 1987, while investigating the disappearance of Shelley Sikes, the 19 year-old who disappeared on her way home from work one night in Texas City, police made connections between the suspects in Sikes' murder, John King and Gerald Zwarst of Bayview, and Susan Eads. (About six weeks after Susan's murder, Zwarst was arrested at Jason's Brown Saloon for public intoxication.) As of 2007, neither King nor Zwarst had been charged in connection with Eads' murder. They are both serving life sentences for the aggravated kidnapping of Shelley Sikes whose body has never been recovered. Eads' murder remains unsolved.

Summary:
Elizabeth Jones lived alone in a house in Clear Lake Shores, Texas, near the IBM facility where she worked as a manager on the NASA shuttle project. At about 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 8, 1987, Jones called her boyfriend Terry Hahn and told him that she was not feeling well and that she planned to go to bed early. Jones was in the midst of remodeling her home, and she told Hahn that a roofer was still there hammering on the roof over her bedroom. After Jones did not appear for work the next day, some friends went to her house in the evening to check on her. They found the doors locked, Jones's car parked in the driveway, no forced entry, and no one at home. Jones's friends entered the house, found no evidence of foulplay, and reported her missing to police. Gribble was the roofer. In initial questioning by police he denied any involvement, but following his arrest on September 30th, he confessed to the sexual assault, kidnaping, and murder by strangulation of Jones. He told police he returned to the house several hours after work and raped Jones after she let him in to search for the wallet he claimed to have left behind. He admitted to later driving her to an isolated area and strangling her with the belt of her robe. Gribble led police to her body in a desolate woods area, and Libby's purse was recovered from a nearby creek. The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals overturned his first conviction in 1988, saying jurors should have received better instructions about defense claims that Gribble suffered mental disorders and was sexually abused as a child. On retrial in 1992, Gribble was again convicted and sentenced to death. Gribble had previously served less than a year and a half of a 5 year sentence on a rape and false imprisonment conviction and was released under mandatory release in May 1985. He was also been indicted in the June 13, 1987 strangulation death of Donna Weis in Galveston County. Gribble confessed to the murder, but was never tried.

Gribble claimed to be “a killer with a
conscience,” although that was never
explained. He said Libby Jones was one
of three women he killed. He had also
been indicted, but never tried for the murder
of Donna Weis, 23, whose remains
were found in Galveston County 18
months after she disappeared in June
1986. Police were never able to confirm
his claim of a third killing. At his trial prosecutors
presented three other women to
the jury who testified that he raped them
too.

(added by Bessie)
From the Houston Chronicle, May 7, 1992 by the victim's sister, Vickie Weis Bolen

On June 13, 1986, a year before he killed Libby, Tim Gribble murdered Donna Weis and left her in a plastic bag in a shallow grave. My family waited for a year and a half with very slim hope that she was alive somewhere.

Donna's remains were found in November 1987 after Gribble confessed to his wife. There wasn't enough evidence left after 17 months to charge him with Donna's murder. My family had to watch like bystanders at Libby's trial; knowing that the jury would not know that not only was Gribble a serial rapist, but that he was also a serial killer.
Now that the trial is over, I wanted the jury to know about Donna so they wouldn't feel any doubts about the verdict they had given. They were justified in their decisions that Gribble would be a future threat to society and that he did kill Libby deliberately.

Murder of Laura Marie Purchase
March 17, 1983 – I-45 at League Line Road, Conroe, Texas
SYNOPSIS: At approx. 3:00 am, an MCSO Patrol Deputy observed a fire
burning just inside the woods along the northbound service road of I-45 at
League Line Road. The dead body of an unidentified white female was
found within the fire, which had recently been set. An autopsy determined
that she had died from strangulation and the fire set with an accelerant.
Self-professed Serial Killer Henry Lee Lucas subsequently confessed to
the crime, along with several others in Montgomery County, in 1983.
Lucas had confessed to approx. 600 murders, with about 200 cleared
across the United States. In 1986, the victim was later positively
identified as Laura Marie Purchase after fingerprints were matched.
Purchase was last known to have been in Houston, Texas on March 5,
1983, living with a man named “Howard” or “Howie” who played in a
band called “Malibu”. Lucas died in prison in 2001, after his death
sentence was commuted to life. Lucas had recanted his confessions and it is believed that he is not responsible for most of the crimes he confessed too. Recent DNA testing of semen from Purchase’s body has been conducted by MCSO Cold Case Detectives, eliminating Lucas from the DNA.

Montgomery County Sheriff's Department Cold Cases (http://www.woodlandsonline.com/dbs/sheriff/files/File/COLDCASE.pdf)

The Purchase case was thought to be closed when Lucas confessed to the slaying, Duroy said. But the Cold Case Squad has ruled Lucas out with recent DNA testing.

Duroy is looking for a man that Purchase said was her husband prior to her death. Her family believes his name is “Howard or Howie” and that he played in a Houston band, Malibu.

Case # 82-18737
Murder of Gloria Ann Stephan
October 2, 1982 – Alford Road, Magnolia, Texas

SYNOPSIS: At approx. 4:00 pm, a resident found the body of an
unidentified white female in “the gravel pit” located off Alford Road.
Another resident had been by the same location and reported that the body
was not present at that location at about 9:30 am, the same day. The
victim had been strangled with a ligature and stabbed to death. Victim
was positively identified by fingerprints as Gloria Ann Stephan, who was
last seen at a convenience store in the 13000 block of Northshore in
Houston, Texas on October 2, 1982, at about 12:00 pm. Stephan had been
driving her light blue 1975 Plymouth station wagon. On October 3, 1982,
at approx. 1:00 am, a Texas DPS Trooper found Stephan’s car abandoned
along Hwy 290 in Kerrville, Texas. Self-professed Serial Killer Henry
Lee Lucas subsequently confessed to the crime, along with several others
in Montgomery County, in 1983. Lucas had confessed to approx. 600
murders, with about 200 cleared across the United States. Lucas died in
prison in 2001, after his death sentence was commuted to life. Lucas had
recanted his confessions and it is believed that he is not responsible for
most of the crimes he confessed too.

Montgomery County Sheriff's Department Cold Cases (http://www.woodlandsonline.com/dbs/sheriff/files/File/COLDCASE.pdf)

Corley believes Lucas did commit two of the murders.

“Lucas led us to the scene (of the Stephan murder),” Corley said. “He pointed out the gravel pit, where the body was drug out in the pine trees. He told us exactly how he strangled and cut her throat.”

Case # 83-6947
Murder of Laura Jean Donez
April 18, 1983 – FM 149 7 miles north of Montgomery, Texas
SYNOPSIS: At approx. 1:00 pm, an oilfield worker observed a fire
burning in a wooded area, near a logging road, approx. 400 yards west of
FM 149. The dead body of an unidentified white female was found in the
fire and MCSO Deputies were called. The fire had been set with what
appeared to be a road flare and an autopsy revealed that she had been
strangled. The victim was soon identified as Laura Jean Donez (16 yoa),
who had last been seen walking away from her residence in the 3500
block of Raymond Street, Houston, Texas. Donez had reportedly left to
buy a hamburger at a nearby restaurant. Self-professed Serial Killer
Henry Lee Lucas subsequently confessed to the crime, along with several
others in Montgomery County, in 1983. Lucas had confessed to approx.
600 murders, with about 200 cleared across the United States. Lucas died
in prison in 2001, after his death sentence was commuted to life. Lucas
had recanted his confessions and it is believed that he is not responsible
for most of the crimes he confessed too.

Montgomery County Sheriff's Department Cold Cases (http://www.woodlandsonline.com/dbs/sheriff/files/File/COLDCASE.pdf)

In the Donez case, Corley said that they proved that Lucas could have been in the area.

“We put him in the area (in Houston),” Corley said. “We didn’t have tools like DNA back then. They very may well reopen and solve these cases. I hope they can. I praise them for trying.”

Cold Case Murders May Be Connected

Around two decades ago, the bodies of five murdered Houston women were discovered in Montgomery County over a three-year period.

Although law enforcement officials never arrested anyone in connection with the murders, a detective in the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Cold Case Squad believes the cases could be linked.

“It’s interesting, between 1980 and 1983, we had a number of females that were murdered, bodies dumped in the county,” Detective Thomas Duroy said. “That’s more in that short time period than in recent times.”

Shouldn't this be moved to post 26 in the uid thread?
These decades are for missing persons and then to compare with the uids yes?

I have ask a moderator to attach my post 70 with post 6 in the UID thread.
And then to delete this posting afterwards.

This thread is to list general information for all of the cases from the '80s, MrTT, missing, found murdered/identified, and found murdered/unidentified.

If you want to make a comparison between a MP and a UID, then you post it in the UID sub-forum (the thread will actually be in the main Unidentified forum).
