I have choosen to post missing and murdered from MONTGOMERY COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE Cold Case Squad – Homicide because I believe some of these cases are related to the killing fields. Some bodies have been recovered and some have not.

Serial Killers move around. One killing in Montgomery County probably killed in other counties surrounding Houston and Fort Worth. I believe there were several moving around in this area of Texas.

Some serial killers move the bodies to other areas so it is highly likely we could find someone missing from one county and remains located in another.

All of these cases are relevant to murders at the time. imo

I have not listed all the missing and murdered from Montgomery County. Please go out and take a look. Very frightening!

Interesting stuff. It looks like there was a Serial Killer operating in Montgomery County in 1982-1984 who may have continued until the 1990's. His MO seemed to be to abduct women who were alone; often outside convenience stores. Apparently they brought the Henry Lee Lucas Road Show to town and were able to "clear the books" of a lot of their cold cases but this series of killing was never solved.

Montgomery Co is 40 miles North of Houston along I-45. Same freeway but the opposite direction of Galveston and the "killing fields". In the 1980's, it was rural (largest city Conroe) with an economy based on the fading oil and lumber industries. Now it a rapidly growing suburb of Houston.

No matter how similar or different two crimes are, LE can never be sure whether or not the same perp is involved without forensic identifying information. The sheer number of sexually motivated killing in such a small area, particularly in the years 1982-84, is pretty compelling evidence that one SK was doing most of it. What Happened? Did he die or get arrested for something else? Did he leave the area or just start operating in other parts of Metro Houston? Could he have stopped killing and still lives there today?

What is so distressing about the Killing Fields specifically and all the cases in the Houston area is not just the number of "low risk" type women who have died at the hands of sexual predators but the fact that most of these cases are unsolved and the killers are probably still out there.

The truth is, some of them are still out there. Some might have moved on, gone to prison, or died but all of them have not.

I think the number of murders and the different perps shows what LE is up against. They need more help with all these cases.

All these families deserve to know who murdered their loved one and where the body is buried. It is very sad!

Just from the ones you posted...
They collected DNA PROFILE of a male on two or three of the ones you posted. Though they matched no one on record. I wonder if they tried to match them with each other? 2 or 3 killers just on the ones you supplied.

And I wonder if any of them would take a victims car and then use that vehicle in a short manor of time, to abduct and kill another before leaving it abandoned somewhere...........He may had been abandoning the vehicles where his was so he could leave the scene though just speculating.

Gloria Ann Stephan
Brenda Maureen Hackett
Just making a guess. But theirs a chance the person whom killed the one also killed the other.

Rita Mae Hughes......Perhaps a random abduction at the train station
since we do not know if she got on for sure or not.

Kristine Ann Budde........not knowing the distance between where she was and where she was found, if may had been a hit and run. Or she could have been abducted from the parking area where she was scene and made an escape from the moving vehicle and he killed her for it by hitting her with the car, they said evidence indicated the vehicle went back to where she was laying, perhaps he did to see if she was dead.

Laura Jean Donez
Laura Marie Purchase
*(Deanna Lynn Ogg)
*(And perhaps you could add ) her to the two.
Besides having he same first name. I would bet 70/30 that the same person whom killed the one killed the other almost exactly 30 days apart.
With same Mo as far as the method of death....strangulation and the setting of the fire in woods/logging area etc.

I only looked at the above for any comparisons I have not looked at any others.

THE ABOVE ALL MOO AND SPECULATION ON MY PART
NOTHING POSTED AS BEING FACT UNLESS OTHERWISE KNOWN TO BE.

What is so distressing about the Killing Fields specifically and all the cases in the Houston area is not just the number of "low risk" type women who have died at the hands of sexual predators but the fact that most of these cases are unsolved and the killers are probably still out there.

Ack, I wouldn't necessarily buy Henry Lee Lucas for having killed more than about 6 people. He was a known liar. On top of that, Montgomery Co. had internal problems back then, specifically a cop that was possibly protecting a relative who might have been a serial killer there. I'm working on that angle, but don't have all my ducks in a row to bring it up for discussion just yet.

Another possibility is that a serial killer, let's say from somewhere in or around Montgomery County owned a beach house at any of the beach or fishing locales off south I-45. If we have a person traveling back and forth between Galveston and Montgomery Co. routinely, it could lessen the number of possible suspects. it's a straight shot down I-45, and 68 miles or approx. 1 1/2 hours depending on traffic from Conroe to League City.
It's an hour and 40 mins. depending on traffic to get from Conroe to Galveston Island. This is not an unreasonable assumption to make distance wise. Much could depend on what kind of job a person had and how much free time he had.

I haven't taken a look at any time lines or checked out all the missiing or deceased women yet, but we could very well have at least one killer familiar with both territories, enough so that he felt completely comfortable operating in either locale. Obviously, some deaths have been attributed to certain people, but for the numerous others who remain unaccounted for as to their killers, we could look for a tie in between Galveston, Alvin, League City, Seabrook etc., and Montgomery County.

Thanks for all your work, JeannieC in looking up these old, cold cases. It's something that really needed doing, and is going to be so very helpful.

Two other names pop up as possible suspects, who like Brandley were employed at the school as janitors. I can't for the life of me understand why neither was ever charged, and one of them is possibly the killer of leisha Jackson, a Montgomery Co. girl. WTH was going on up in Montgomery County, and why haven't these men ever been charged? In the Ferguson case, the two were identified by eye witnesses as grabbing the girl who pleaded for help. In the other case, the possible perp lived a stone's throw from the victim, per info garnered from another site with similar focus as WS.

So here we have two cases with one possible perp involved in both. There are other murders that possibly fit. Wether or not this guy had any ties to the bays and beach locales, I haven't the foggiest as yet. But if not him, perhaps another possible perp might be out there who does have ties to both areas.

WOW! So much information. We have Robinson who sold Amway and worked as a janitor at a school. At that time, Amway was sold door to door............

Acremen talked to Cheryl before her murder. A school janitor, taxi driver in Tx, long distance truck driver............

and of course Brandley, school janitor.

Then we have a non-responsive DA and over zealous LD tester!

Not an "innocent" one in the bunch!

1980 Case # 80-2138
Murder of Barbara Gale Whitten
July 8, 1980 – Wooded area, south of Roman Forest Blvd, New Caney, Texas
SYNOPSIS: At approximately 2:00 pm, a witness responded to the sight
of smoke in the area of the scene. Upon arrival, the witness observed what
appeared to be a log on fire and a 1976 – 1977 medium blue Chevrolet
Nova parked nearby. The Nova had what appeared to be two navy blue
racing stripes on the side. Two white males were observed closing the
vehicle trunk and upon entering the car, the males fled on Roman Forest
Blvd. MCSO Deputies responded and found that the fire involved a dead
body of a black female. Two freshly dug shallow holes were located
nearby. The victim was later identified by dental records as Barbara Gale
Whitten (23 yoa) from Wipprecht Street in Houston, Texas. An autopsy
revealed that she had been shot multiple times with a 22-caliber firearm.
In 1983, self-professed Serial Killer Henry Lee Lucas subsequently
confessed to several murders in Montgomery County, along with approx.
600 murders elsewhere. Investigators in 1983 thought that Lucas might
have been involved in Whitten’s murder. Lucas died in prison in 2001,
after his death sentence was commuted to life. Lucas had recanted his
confessions and it is believed that he is not responsible for most of the
crimes he confessed too.

Very frightening!

http://www.woodlandsonline.com/dbs/sheriff/files/File/COLDCASE.pdf

This case is so vast and there are so many persons involved.
I need to drop an anchor in this sea of madness to create a starting point. And perhaps others can choose a starting point for themselves and work outward over time. We may just connect somewhere along the way, and can look for familiarities to specific crimes.

I am going to stay with you JeannieC in Montgomery County.
As we investigate and expand outward over time, I will be able to return to my starting point of Montgomery County if things start to become extremely confusing or overwhelming. And then start again.

Thanks so much. You seem to have a pretty good handle on this. You are so right, this is overwhelming! I'm still wondering about the weapon of choice, a .22. I wonder if that is just the gun used most often during that period of time. I'm not up to speed on guns.

Also, those that were strangled. I noticed a difference in how they were listed. Whether it was just the spokesperson or if there is a difference, I don't know.

For instance some were listed as strangulation, ligature strangulation, manual stranglulation. Some with the use of a toothbrush. Some with stockings stuffed in their mouth.

Is manual with the hands only and is it the same thing as strangulation? Is stuffing something in a person's mouth the cause of death or was that in addition to strangling them.

Subtle differences but possibly important. I'm not sure. Would the same person use different methods to strangle a person and shoot the next victim? Can a perp be identified if they change their MO on each victim?

These murders don't appear to be the same person but identifying who was murdered by one perp is tough!

JeannieC
11-07-2011, 03:39 PM
I believe the perp(s) did cross county lines in some cases and if we searched other states we would probably find the exact same MO's there. I'm thinking Louisiana
but I haven't checked. I have enough here for now! lol

If the heat was on, some of these perps just might have moved on or they could have been people who traveled in and out of the area on a regular basis.

Hard to know but of the few who were caught, I believe at least two were caught in another state. Louisiana and NC if my memory serves me correctly.

Manual would be the hands. ligature would be used with a rope string and the toothbrush. this method causes a slow death or fast death depending upon the person doing it. turn it slowly and take them to the brink of death, then release it and have them regain consciousness. Its used for torturing the victim. As far as the pantyhose. Its my theory the hose in the mouth is not what killed them. It was the killer using something to shoved the hose farther down her throat which cause her to choked to death. Another form of demonic pleasure. They enjoyed letting there victim know she was going to die and it would be a slow agonizing death.
ALL MOO.

This is a really perverted sick individual or individuals as the case may be. I didn't understand the reason for the toothbrush or the pantyhose.

Wasn't there another serial killer very well known who used this method. Was it Rodney Alcala or am I thinking about the wrong person?

The bite marks on some victims is another thing. All the victims weren't bitten. Only a few and only one was biten and strangled with her panties. This is something I've also seen in another serial killer (both the bite mark and the strangulation with panties) but can't remember who it was and haven't been able to find it anywhere I've looked.

The population of Conroe proper may be decieving given that it didn't take in the population of the surrounding communities. My brothers graduating class at Conroe High in 1976 was almost a thousand students. This was long before the Woodlands, Oakridge and even New Caney had new schools for students in outlying areas.

The Bradley case is baffeling. Well, all of them are. I can't imagine living there during this time. Well, actually 30 years of it!

The thing I don't understand is with DNA testing why more of these cases haven't been solved. Makes me wonder if the perp(s) were under the radar. No arrests, never in trouble. Possibly to all appearances, regular people.

The idea of a beach house and possibly traveling to Montgomery County makes sense. Live one place, work another maybe?

Traveling salesman, local trucker, taxi driver, tow truck driver, delivery person. Lots of possibilities!

I wish I were better at maps. I'd love to have a map with all the areas where the persons went missing and the areas where the bodies were located. Maybe an overlay map. All the victims not just those in the fields. Montgomery County to Galveston.

Might show some kind of pattern or possible routes. Maybe not.........

We do need a good timeline. I'll try to get that worked up for all victims. Might take a while. I'm recooperating from a hospital visit and keep getting sleepy. lol

Might have a pattern in the timeline especially with the inclusion of Montgomery County.

Can't hurt to look at every possibility. Put our heads together and see what we think.

A beach house or local truck driver would definitely make sense. Galveston is the closest salt water, so a fisherman was my first thought. We spent many, many, many weekends in Galveston. As a matter of fact, that was where I was born.

The general thought was that this was someone that lived in the Conroe area and traveled frequently to Galveston. Even as Conroe grew it was a pretty close knit community, especially before the new schools farther out were built. Everyone went to school together. (like the link above that shows the population in 1796 as 17k, there were almost 4k students in the high school alone at that time.) So if you didn't know someone directly, you knew them through someone else. I think that is why more of the bodies turned up on South 45, instead of his own backyard.

That yes, he was a normal guy that wouldn't stick out.

eta: I need to go back and read up because I haven't followed up on any of these cases in a loooong time.

So if you didn't know someone directly, you knew them through someone else. I think that is why more of the bodies turned up on South 45, instead of his own backyard.

That yes, he was a normal guy that wouldn't stick out.

eta: I need to go back and read up because I haven't followed up on any of these cases in a loooong time.

I hadn't thought of a fisherman. Do they have commercial fishing in the area? Canneries? Fish being moved from one area to another on a regular basis?

Are there a lot of people who live there on a seasonal basis?

I would like to think that the LEOs have already done that.
They should have a map created over time that shows everything in detail. From dates times found etc etc etc.

And it is visual aids such as this you mentioned, that I wish they would release so we could use it as a tool here in the killing fields.

A better name would have been "The killers field"

I agree. I have found several maps but none that included everyone and none that showed the entire area. That's what we need. Too bad LE doesn't have one out there for us to use. I'm sure they have one or more than one!

The devil's in the details and we don't have it together yet! I've got to find a good mapper! lol

January 12, 2002 – 20000 block of Hwy 105 East, Cleveland, Texas
SYNOPSIS: On January 12, 2002, MCSO Deputies met with a citizen
that had purchased an iron cauldron at a flea market located in the 20000
block of Hwy 105 East, Cleveland, Texas. The cauldron contained
books on the occult, along with a human skull. Investigation revealed
that the above articles had been purchased from a self-storage unit in
Houston, Texas, after nonpayment of rent. MCSO Cold Case Detectives have submitted the remains for DNA testing and submission to the
Missing Persons / Unidentified DNA database.
OK.....throw things at me if you want, I just have to say it..........Be careful what you leave in your storage unit!

I certainly would like to know what the end results were after this was investigated.
9 years later.

Maybe a member here will show up whom lives in the area, and can ask for them to release it to us.

I don't see where it would be a negative in there investigation.
Would save some lots of time in trying to recreate something they put together over time and in much detail.

So would I! I wasn't able to locate info on Doe to see if someone was identified or not. Probably not..............jmo

I'd love to know if they were able to locate the person who rented the storage building. Since we haven't heard anything further I'm guessing....no.

I really hope and pray they will be able to identify these two young women and notify the families. Allow two families to have peace in knowing what happened to their loved one and bury their daughters.

Hi everyone,

I'm not trying to move in on your thread, but I ran across a victim that I don't recall having listed. I happened to read a few concerns voiced in here.

In regard to the fisher idea: I posted some information about a killer who detailed to police that he always kept fishing poles, tackle box and fishing license with him when he was out looking for victims. I believe this is the one that killed a prostitute and got pulled over afterward. The police searched his car and found her fingerprints, blood and hair. All that evidence was thrown out of court because there was no warrant obtained prior to the search.

Regarding why DNA hasn't been performed on more of the victims: these cities don't get funding for cold cases. This lack of funding prevents an appropriate investigation department from being present, and diverts activities of police to primarily handle active crimes and drug enforcement.

Which leads me to the third point I wanted to make: the lack of organization and investigation prevents LE from putting all this information into a cohesive map or other database. The cities down here are notorious for not sharing information. This is why FBI got involved. However, they aren't even accounting for many of the victims - case in point: Darlynn Foster.

From a prior post -
ROY ALAN STEWART

Sexual assault, strangulation and dumping near bodies of water is his MO. If water isn't around, he finds farm areas and leaves them underneath overturned water troughs. He was known to carry his fishing poles, fishing license and toolkit with him, as an aid to provide alibi.

He had 9 arrests for sexual assault and intended sexual assault (as of the late 1970's); he killed two women in 1971, and another one in 1974 (all in Amarillo); He got out of his 99 year sentence by pleading guilty in exchange for 15 years + 1 day, and was in prison from 05/17/1975 to 09/08/1982. Shortly after his release, they began finding bodies again.

In 1988, a black woman's body was found on the border of Brazoria county near Highway 288 (which crosses I-45); due to the condition of her body, it was assumed there was a big fight/struggle prior to her death. Shortly thereafter, while under surveillance, he was pulled over in Houston while trolling an area frequented by 'ladies of the night' and his car was searched. HPD found that his windshield was broken, the dead woman's fingerprints were inside the car, and hair matching the victim's was present. Because of the search without a warrant, none of this evidence could be used.

In 1989, he was arrested for delivery of a controlled substance with a prostitute in Freeport, and was sentenced to 11 years and 5 days. He was back out of jail rather quickly though.

He was arrested again on 06/06/94 for aggravated kidnapping of a young prostitute he picked up in Bay City. He took her to his home in Brazosport, assaulted her, and tied her up but she escaped. He is eligible for parole in 2024.

Missing Since: December 19, 1997 from Spring, Texas
Classification: Endangered Missing
Case # 97A016936
NCIC Number: M-084467461
Case Number: R9806003; NCMC841540
Date Of Birth: April 13, 1985
Age: 12 years old
Height and Weight: 5'3, 135 pounds
Distinguishing Characteristics: Caucasian female. Blonde hair, blue eyes. Michelle has a scar or birthmark on the palm of one of her hands.
Clothing/Jewelry Description: A tan t-shirt with the Calvin Klein logo, CK, imprinted on the front, jeans and Nike tennis shoes.
Michelle was last seen by her mother, Beth Prasek, at her family's residence near The Woodlands, Texas during the morning of December 17, 1997. Beth told authorities that she saw her daughter less than one hour before Michelle's school bus was scheduled to depart. Michelle may have boarded her bus and been on school property that day, but she did not attend classes at Knox Junior High School. She has never been heard from again. A search of her home revealed that her pet orange cat, Froggy, was missing, along with some clothing, a green sleeping bag, and a handmade patchwork quilt. Several of Michelle's friends told authorities that they were uncertain if she actually arrived on school property the day she disappeared. Another friend maintained that she saw Michelle on campus during the morning hours.

Michelle did not have a prior history of running away at the time of her disappearance, but she apparently told a friend she intended to leave her residence and travel to the Conroe, Texas area in December 1997. Michelle's parents are divorced and she had been attending counseling sessions at Montgomery County Youth Services to help her deal with family issues at the time she vanished. Beth said that Michelle was learning to deal with her anger in 1997. One of Michelle's relatives allegedly failed a polygraph test concerning her disappearance and another loved one reportedly refused to submit to the test. All maintain they know nothing about her whereabouts and continue to search for her. Media sources allege that Richard Prasek, Michelle's father, was the only person who passed a polygraph exam concerning her case. Her mother, Beth, allegedly refused to take the test and her boyfriend, Mark Seguin, reportedly failed the lie detector. The information has never been confirmed by law enforcement.

Circumstances of Disappearance
Booth's 1975 maroon and white AMC Pacer was found abandoned 2 miles south of HI-20 on SH 349 (Rankin Highway). Circumstances of this case indicate foul play is possible. Police later found she had taken her car to be serviced the morning of her disappearance and since then the odometer showed it had been driven 268 miles.
Investigators do not believe Booth left the club willingly, because she left without her shoes and coat, and the weather was cold and icy. Police then were led to believe she either left the club unwillingly or had gone outside with the intention of staying only a short time.
Between the years of 1978 and 1979, Booth was a senior at Lee High School.
A year after graduating, Booth still lived at her family home in the 4400 block of Monty Avenue with her father Tom, mother Myra and her two siblings. Police said that she never had any problems at home. Her nights were spent at The Great Gatsby, a restaurant on Cuthbert Avenue , where she worked as a cocktail waitress.

Yes, we can do that. I'll try to get it started tomorrow.

Murder of Lesia Michelle Jackson

September 7, 1979 – Lake Wildwood Subdivision, Conroe, Texas
SYNOPSIS: Lesia Jackson was 12 years of age and resided with her
parents inside the Lake Wildwood Subdivision off FM 1485 in Conroe.
She had attended Washington Jr. High. Lesia Jackson had been
swimming in the subdivision lake with friends and relatives about her
same age. Lesia Jackson was last seen walking alone on Creek Bend
Street in the direction of her residence. Her relatives arrived at Jackson’s
home a short time later and her parents inquired about her absence. A
search of the neighborhood began and lasted through the evening. The
following day, Lesia’s eyeglasses were found at the intersection of
Creekwood and Deep Forest within the subdivision. On September 13,
1979, an oilfield worker found Lesia Jackson’s remains in a heavily
wooded area along a pipeline off Exxon Road in Conroe. This scene was
approx. 5 miles from Lake Wildwood. An autopsy determined that Lesia
Jackson had been sexually assaulted and murdered

I agree. I have found several maps but none that included everyone and none that showed the entire area. That's what we need. Too bad LE doesn't have one out there for us to use. I'm sure they have one or more than one!

The devil's in the details and we don't have it together yet! I've got to find a good mapper! lol

Hi there Jeannie,

I looked up a few maps that I thought you could use - and found an outline for the major highways in Southeast Texas that looked really useful. I should probably also post this in a general forum as a central reference point.

I've added my own commentary to the outline, as facts that relate to the cases which we discuss here.

I'm working on it now, but am attaching a map I think is pretty good at plotting out the major cities and towns along I-45.

Looks almost like 610 circles or connects to the entire area. Lots of interstate making it easier access to come and go. Easy in and easy out.

Thanks for your hard work!

It does circle the inner part of the city... hence the name loop - People who live inside this area are called 'inner-loopers' and pay higher rent than anywhere else in the city. They are usually either very wealthy, or young professionals.

There are a few major highways I didn't outline, just because it wasn't as relevant to the cases we're reviewing.

I live in Montgomery County .. but like previously mentioned, I wouldnt' expect to have too much cooperation between the counties .. or even the city po po's in this area...

I feel blessed to have stumbled upon this thread and read some of the same ideas that have been floating around my head for years ..

Let's see what we can do to help some of these families get answers .. geez.. so many unanswered questions ..

That thread is a place to keep track of those that are sent to the WS UID Forum to be checked as a possible match. It will be helpful in preventing duplications. We don't want the same ones to keep being sent to the UID Forum.

Whenever someone thinks they have a match it goes to the UID Forum from there. These folks will do the research, comparison and either rule it in as a match and submit it to Namus or LE or they will rule it out. They are very good at this and they know the right person to contact.

Cheryl Dee Ferguson
http://image1.findagrave.com/photos/2011/31/33992186_129654823880.jpg

[QUOTE]I want to add a very famous Texas case out of Montgomery Co. to this list, and that is the case of
Cheryl Dee Ferguson, a Bellville, TX volleyball player who was killed at Conroe High School August 23,1980. Clarence Brandley was framed, tried, convicted, and sentenced to death row for her murder, only to be released 10 years later.

I haven't been able to locate a picture of Cheryl but I located her tombstone and it is so moving I had to post it.
This is a sad case. The wrong man was convicted and served 10 years before the sentence was overturned. There were other suspects but another arrest was never made.

Ferfuson was a famous case and I don't think anyone has forgotten it. But, I don't think her case has anything to do with the I-45 Killings. I do believe the same killer is responsible for those crimes from Galveston to Montgomery.

We included her due to the type of crime and the possible perp in her case. No she wasn't a victim of the I-45 Corridor or Killing Fields.

Hi TexasCharm. So glad you joined us. Being verified local is between WS Admin and a user. Totally private. Allows the user to post things an outsider can not post unless it is printed in the media. Sorta inside information.

I'll ask a moderator to come on and explain it and tell you how to go about it. I've seen it done on other forums but I've never done it. I'm never local.

Glad you're here! Welcome to the Forum!

Welcome, TexasCharm! So glad you've joined us. There's no need to become verified if you're only posting general information that any local would know. We ask locals to be verified when they post information specific to a case. For now, I think you're fine. :)

Hi Mr.TT

Just wanted to let you know that most of the time, LE doesn't give the families of victims the information about where to post about their loved ones. So if the only family left are older and not really computer savvy, or if nobody mentions to post the victim's information online, it isn't going to get done. Also, since there are several places to post, it could be confusing to people who aren't really familiar with using the internet.

Just wanted to mention that...

Her red 1986 Pontiac Fiero was found abandoned about three miles from the club. Foul play is feared in her disappearance.
Tara grew up in Del Rio, Texas, and was the third of five children in a devoutly religious family. After high school, she arrived in Houston to pursue a career in photography.

I put some of them in the right years but not all of them. I'd just leave them and add the rest to the correct years later.

Hello, I wanted to point out that the .jpg picture is misleading. I don't recall there being a Remington Hotel in Fort Worth and I'm not sure about Houston but there was one in Dallas. The Charley project link to Melissa references her car at a Remington Hotel in Houston along I-45. Also, I-45 runs through Dallas and south to Houston. I-45 is far to east from Fort Worth and runs parallel so it never meets FW.

Oops. I guess I searched for a Remington Hotel near the area from which she disappeared and came up with a Remington up north. The Doe Network didn't specify that the Remington Hotel was in Houston, which is probably why I made that error.

Is there an overview of this I-45 thing? I know nothing about it and would like to get some background on this but I can't find anything like it and there's way too much out there right now to know where to start. All I know is that people have been murdered or found here? When did it start, and stop? Does LE have an opinion on it? Any other background info to know?

You just have to jump in. I have been researching these cases for 8 years now. There are so many single killers/abductors and then there are multiple serial killers. I started with the missing/murdered girls in the 70s and worked my way to present day. I include most Houston-area cases and others along I-45 up through DFW. I do not include cases along I-35 in my research.

Claudette, you might want to start with this link to the CBS 48 Hours story:

Next, I'd suggest going to this thread:

That's where we started the forum, and from there we posted cases by decades, suspects, and so forth. JeannieC, Ikoihil, and :+:Mr TT:+: get tons of credit for getting this forum going. Nutkin has joined us recently and made a great contribution with his/her knowledge. Many of these cases are still unsolved and getting no attention. We'd love to have your input. :tyou:

:seeya:Hi, Ikoihil! So glad to see you're still with us. :blowkiss:

Welcome, tjfenske. Thank you for the correction. Hope we'll hear more from you. As I said, the unsolved cases are getting no attention. The victims deserve justice, and their families deserve answers. So please feel free to pull up a chair and dig right in.

Just watched the repeat of the 48 hours episode. So haunting and very sad. :rose:

I was wondering if the suspect in Mickey Shunick's case might have been involved, but he was in prison from 99 until 2008, and in the 95, 96 97 cases, he would have been a young teen.

I think he has left some type of mark on 45. Just my opinion
