I have followed true crime since I was a teen, and read several books a week. When I first read a "Darlie"
Book in 1998, that was it. I was so sickened that I didn't know if I could ever read or discuss a true crime book again....and I didn't for awhile. But then, I read everything I could find on her.
One thing that has always stood out at me is the date. Darlie is very dramatic, and I wondered if she chose the date of the attack and her description to give somewhat of a 'motive' to the police. I think she hoped they would connect 6-6-96 (666) and her description of a man dressed all in black with a black hat as a possible sacrificial crime. "They came in here, stabbed my babies, stabbed me..." Of course, when they didn't surmise that, it would be a little akward to try and suggest it herself.

Welcome to Websleuths and Darlie Rouiter Forum. That is very interesting with what you have said about the date of 6-6-96 what she did to her precious son's shows that she is a self centered person and that she is a cold blooded killer.

Dasgal, remember "Captain"? I've got some emails saved from him I think. He apparently met and married a woman who lived near the murder house (Mary I think her name was). He married her after they began talking about the case, remember? Anyway, he was a nutbag. He claims to have photos of the actual murder weapon. In fact, I think I have an email saved with one of the pictures.

Yeah I remember Captain. He WAS a nut. Anyhoo, remember that he and Mary went there separate ways and then Mary started saying that Captain was the killer and she knew because she found Darlie's panties????!!!! LOL. And then Captain started saying that Mary was the killer because she had the "second knife"???? Crap! I had forgotten about those nut bagels. I'd love to see the stuff. Come on, who loves ya baby? Show me. Pleasepleasepleaseplease? I think Mary kinda stayed on with the Darlie Road show for a while. Captain got tossed quite quickly. I think there were some who bought the "Captain had Darlie's panties" stories. LOL. Boy there have been some dooseys! (Ok, not me, just everyone else, right?):angel:

wHEN I posted the 666 theory, It of course was just speculation. I have unfortunatey known a few histrionic personalities in the past and like Darlie, never a dull moment, you know?
When the books introduce the story line, they have the date noted. It has just always caught my attention. Of course I don't know for sure, but this same person noted, "If you know my little boys, they are up in heaven having the biggest birthday party..."
