Hi All,

This is a WS approved petition to change the rating on a new documentary about bullying from R to PG-13 so that kids can see it, too. The name of the documentary is 'Bully'.

I think this good news, the movie had the rating taken off. Hopefully this means they can show it in schools and kids can go to the theater.

I must confess that I was reluctant to sign the petition that required my name and email address. That said, I saw the Ellen show when she addressed the film and its R rating and urged viewers to request the change so that the target audience would be able to see the movie.

The company behind the widely-talked about "Bully" film announced Tuesday that it planed to release it without a rating.

Following an appeal to the Motion Picture Association of America, The Weinstein Company said it had failed by one vote to get the film its deserved PG-13 rating. The MPAA had originally rated the movie R.

The small amount of language in the film thats responsible for the R rating is there because its real. Its what the children who are victims of bullying face on most days," said director Lee Hirsch. "All of our supporters see that, and were grateful for the support weve received across the board. I know the kids will come, so its up to the theaters to let them in.
