For those of you in TX and LA this is a good chance to support TES and learn some things. I know both Dr. Gammon and Mark Young. They both have a lot of experience in their fields. A major national magazine is writing an article on Texas EquuSearch. I wouldn't be surprised if one of their reporters were there too.

Texas Equusearch's Mission for the Missing Benefit
November 16, 2003 (Sunday) 1-8pm
Location: Firehouse, 5930 Southwest Freeway, Houston, TX
Adults $10.00/Children free

The spotlight of our event will be the new Texas Missing Persons DNA Database that was created to compare a family member's DNA to DNA extracted from remains in an effort to solve missing persons cases. The system links directly with the CODIS database for nationwide searches.

Dr. Steve Gammon, the administrator of the Texas Missing Persons Database at UNT Health Science Center, will be available to discuss the program and answer any questions. Families of missing persons and law enforcement are encouraged to attend.

Our Guest Speaker will be retired FBI Profiler Mark Young. His career credits include extensive investigative work that led to the capture of serial killers Angel Maturino Resendiz aka Railcar Killer and Robert Rhoades. Mark will be addressing the challenges Texas is facing in regard to our growing number of missing person cases, non-parental abductions, and provide safety and prevention tips.

Entertainment will be provided by Houston's own all female band Cowboys Nightmare.

Come out and be a part of making a difference in your community and enjoy the great music, BBQ, live auction and raffle!

I told Harriett Semander (she and her family had the fundraiser in July to stop Coral Watts' release) about Texas EquuSearch's fund raiser and she promised to pass the word along to Diane Clements, the president of Justice for All. Please keep those of us that aren't in Texas and can't attend posted on how it goes.
