(Pompano Beach-AP) -- An Amber Alert has been canceled for a four-year-old Pompano Beach girl who disappeared from the apartment where her mother was killed.

Broward sheriff's deputies were asked to check on the family because no one had been seen for a day. Officers found the mother's body and a bound 12-year-old girl.

Four-year-old Medjie Jean-Francois was missing. But she was found safe before dawn in Miami-Dade County.
