Unbelievable.....absolutley nuts...I am scared for our children, more now than ever.

At least they have some info on this one, a possible abducter and vehicle.

I wonder if this guy is someone the family knows. Holding my breath, hoping that the early Amber Alert will bring her home quickly & safely.

Off to check the sex offender registries...

I wonder if we are just hearing about it more...rather than more abductions happening. I don't know, but I do know Florida has been in the spotlight a bit too much this year..and none of it has been good.

I wonder if the girl or her family are acquainted with or related this creep who they believe took her? I can't find any more info on it...he's not on the sex offender database that I can find. Also interesting that they haven't issued an Amber Alert considering the have a description of the abductor and a vehicle

I think that we are. I had posted a link a long time ago, (so I can't remember where at this point), that basically said that very thing. According to that report, these crimes are no more common than they were in the past; it's just that we're more alert.

I found this out on Fox News. Sorry if someone else posts it. Sounds like her brother went out drinking and left her with this guy? WTF?

That's interesting...Manatee County Sheriff's website has the Amber Alert ticker and it's not showing it...in fact their website pretty much stinks...just information about a golf tournament, what appears to be an old runaway notice, and their 150th Anniversary History and Pictorial!!

Doesn't surprise me...there is a large migrant population in that area of Florida. I'm sure there are lots of illegals. Hopefully someone will spot the vehicle and they will catch them. I hate to think of why he would want to take her to Mexico :(

That's what the fox site says

FOXNews.com - U.S. & World - Cops Issue Amber Alert for Florida Girl (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,154652,00.html)

... "This is the first time she had ever met this gentleman, so the likelihood of her leaving on her own or wanting to leave would be very slim,” (Bradenton Police Major Jeff) Lewis told FOX News...

Margarita, along with two other younger children, were left in Paulino-Perez’s care at a Bradenton motel while her two adult brothers went out for about an hour Monday evening. When the men returned, Margarita and Paulino-Perez were gone but the other two children were still at the motel...

Margarita was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and blue pants. The alleged abductor was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans, and he may have a scar on his forehead. Police said they may be traveling in a mid-1990s red minivan, possibly a Ford Aerostar...

You've got to read the whole story! How ridiculous! Another child failed by those that were taking care of her. How sickening!

FOX News just said that the police said that Margarita is in danger, no longer saying that she might be. Please keep your fingers crossed for this girl. She's already been missing for many hours. And the fact that the "babysitter" took off with her, leaving the other two kids behind is not a good sign at all. :(

Maybe still in Mexico? It's not too uncommon for those trying to seek refuge here to send their children without them or to leave their children behind until part of the family establishes themselves.

I was thinking maybe he wasn't on a registry because he's an illegal immigrant. And as I was thinking that, I'm thinking, wait a minute...the reason sex offenders are on a registry to begin with was because they were caught and convicted of such. It made me realize how many there must be of offenders who haven't been caught yet. That disturbed me for some reason.

I don't believe anyone has posted this link to the story -- i agree very distrubing...

1. 25-year-old co-worker of her brothers babysitting at a hotel (Classic Inn) the brothers realized they were both not -- when the brothers returned monday night at 8:00

2. The brothers did not report the girl missing until Tuesday morning, even though a Bradenton police officer had spoken to them at the motel at about 10 p.m. Monday while investigating a battery complaint against one of them

3. When asked about the delay, one brother told police that he and his brother were ``too intoxicated and could not remember.' -??????

4. Margarita is a Mexican citizen -- she is the only one listed as a mexican citizen what about the "babysitter" or the brothers status?

according to the fox news report I get the idea that he was not a citizen either:

You know what's odd? The brothers couldn't remember WHAT? That they had a sister? That they had left her with this guy? That she was staying at the motel with them? I don't get it. This really is sickening. And only 20 miles from where Sarah Lunde lived. This one makes me furious! She was missing since 8 P.M., but they didn't inform police until the next morning? Were they worried about being deported? Did that mean more to them than their sister's life???? :furious:

Not only that she was missing at 8:00, and didn't inform the police till Tuesday Morning -- the police were there at the hotel at 10:00 on MONDAY night. The way that I read that was when they were asked why they did not report it earlier -- they were "too intoxicated and could not remember."

So when the police were there while investigating a battery complaint against one of the brothers -- they police didn't notice how intoxicated they were?

Is it possible to be so intoxicated, that you are able to converse w/ police but totally forget that you have a sister, or that she is missing and some psycho that you had "babysat" took her?

Whatever!!!!!

I had to go back and re-read this fox article -- and make sure that i heard that right -- ummm if they were back by 8:00pm -- wouldn't the other two children still have been awake? Not sure how old the other two were, since i missed that part the first time around -- but what are they saying happened???

I also wonder how long those other two were there unattended two -- and how old they were, probably pretty young since he took the 12 yr. old. sister..

This has been added to most news sources this evening...

"Margarita's parents are in Mexico. She is an illegal immigrant living with her two brothers and her sister-in-law at the motel. Margarita babysits her brother's children while the family's adults work at migrant labor in Ruskin, said Major William Tokajer, Bradenton police spokesman."

So assuming that this 12 year old (who was sent her illegally) isn't enrolled in school, probably doesn't speak English (since she babysits during, assuming the all day) -- parents still reside in Mexico....

So my question is -- If they were out until 8:00, and they are accustomed to leaving the two young children w/ her all day -- why then did they need a "babysitter" to care for them on this occasion....

I am not saying that a 12 year old should be responsible for the saftey -- but obviously this is what she is accustomed to doing...

"The family members had been staying at the motel for about three days"

"Their sister was gone, and two of Rubino Aguilar's children, ages 3 and 4, were alone, crying. "

"Margarita did not go to school in the Bradenton area, Radzilowski said, and her parents live in Mexico. Police said Paulino-Perez is in the United States illegally. He has family members in Ruskin. "
"On Tuesday, authorities said Margarita's brothers told investigators they were ``too intoxicated and could not remember'' to tell police their sister was missing, according to a news release. "

Too intoxicated and couldn't remember their sister was missing (and from this article they ran to the store-- hopefully they ran and didn't drive since that is pretty intoxicated!) -- so they couldn't remember 2 hours later when the police were their about their sister or their children (ages 3 and 4), there alone crying when they returned?:furious: :furious:

Ok -- so she didn't go to school, must then move from motel to motel -- since they had been there for 3 days???:(

I think we are hearing the real story. Migrant workers live a different life. The conditions in which they live are often third world. Children often miss school or are not enrolled because they must work in the fields. Children watch children because the older family members must work in the fields. The substandard living conditons are the norm. I'm sure alcoholism is a big problem with the migrant population, anything to escape from their "real world"

Unfortunately, I agree with you on this. There is no reason why this man would take her and leave those young babies alone unless he was up to no good. Since Margarita had never met him before, I don't imagine that she poured her heart out to him. Yet I keep hoping that maybe she told him that she missed her parents, wanted to go home, didn't like being alone babysitting all day, and so he took her home to Mexico. Maybe he left the other two because he meant no harm, and didn't want to be accused of kidnapping since he only took the child that asked to go home.

I know it's far-fetched but I'm hoping against hope here.

Girl, 12, Abducted From Bradenton Motel (http://www.gwinnettdailyonline.com/GDP/archive/article5F0F236259394DE5B1C7F21C12530075.asp)

Bradenton police said Margarita Aguilar-Lopez last was seen Monday night at the Classic Inn...

"There is no relationship between the suspect and the girl,'' Maj. William Tokajer said Tuesday. "That's one of our biggest concerns...''

The girl's brothers, Francisco and Rubino Aguilar, went to a nearby store..

Authorities said it was the first time Margarita met the man.

There was no evidence of foul play in Room 21 at Classic Inn, where the family was living. The motel's managers could not be reached for comment.

Police on Tuesday spoke with people at the motel about the girl's disappearance...

Anyone with information about the girl's whereabouts may call the Bradenton Police Department at (941) 932-9300.

The two brothers, both in their 20s, said they last saw her about 7:30 p.m. Monday, when they left Margarita and two younger girls in the care of Antonio Paulino-Perez -- whom they had just met -- while they went to buy liquor ...

About two hours later, police arrived at the motel to investigate a complaint against one of the brothers ... related to the brothers' drinking, Lewis said...

All involved in the case are undocumented immigrants...

It's the third missing child report in two weeks in Manatee County, Florida.

Bradenton police asked people with information in the case to call 1-941-932-9300.

The story that they're telling is so shameful that I can't imagine them making it up if it isn't true.

The picture looks as if she definitely might be near/in/finished puberty but to me she definitely looked 12. She's a beatiful girl, and for these brothers to leave her with a man that they'd just met leaves me practically speechless.

Everytime I see a new post on this thread, my stomach turns when I click on it, and wait for it to open. I wish they would find her soon. With the illegal status of the two of them, things are so much more complicated. He's probably used to living beneath the radar so I fear that they might never find her.

Another ridiculous scenario that didn't have to happen.
