This is very odd. They allegedly had just met this guy but allowed him to stay with their 3 girls. Then, she goes missing by 8 P.M. but they are too drunk to report it until the following day, (even though police were speaking with them about another incident at 10 P.M.). Now the stories are saying that there was a lot of "misinformation", including information that came from the brothers.
What is wrong with these brothers? Why or how did they end up giving bad information to the police in the search for their sister??? I find myself worrying that they offered her to this guy for some rent or booze money. Nah, probably not ... then they would have lost their babysitter.
I pray that this child is looked after from this point. She clearly isn't being protected by her brothers. I also hope that they look into options for the 3 and 4 year-old girls that were also intentionally left with that stranger.

I wanted to ask this in a spot where I felt fairly certain it would be read:
Last night on Greta, there was a segment about a teen-aged African-American male, (I believe he's 17), who's been missing for a month. His sister mentioned something about him being a sort of witness to a murder back in December (?). I was already dozing off when the segment came on, perked up long enough to listen to the beginning, but fell asleep again before the segment ended. Can anyone tell me his name or his hometown? I can't find anything so far on the missing forum that seems like him.

You know I had the same though...*shudder*....
Not aware of anything about the missing 17 yr old you mention...if I run across anything I'll be sure to post it though

This sheds some light on this story...I hope they make sure this little girl is taken care of
http://www.bradenton.com/mld/bradenton/news/local/11507980.htm
Authorities arrested Antonio Paulino-Perez, 25, at 8:33 p.m. outside a Wal-Mart in Easley, S.C., after he allegedly abducted her from a Bradenton motel Monday night. They found Margarita Aguilar-Lopez inside a dark red Dodge Caravan, seemingly upset, but in good physical condition. There was no immediate indication of abuse, officials said.
<snip>
None of Margarita's relatives attended the news conference.
<snip>
"The FBI's going to interview her and we're going to determine what transpired, whether she went willingly or whether she was actually abducted," Radzilowski said.
<snip>
Like the brothers, Carmen Perez is also a migrant farmworker housed at the motel by the Classie Growers company. He shared Room 21 at the motel with the brothers, Margarita and two toddlers. The girl was usually given two tortillas and a Coke as a meal, according to Perez.
<snip>
Margarita had not been attending school, authorities said. Instead, her mother, who lives in Mexico, sent her to the U.S. to help care for Rufino's children. Luz Corcuera, program director at Healthy Start Coalition of Manatee County, works with migrant worker families and said the mindset isn't uncommon among the culture.

Man Jailed In Case Of Missing Girl Claims No Wrongdoing - from TBO.com (http://news.tbo.com/news/MGBN2ZKC58E.html)
In a jail cell hundreds of miles away, Antonio Paulino-Perez told an interpreter he cannot understand why federal authorities arrested him...
Paulino-Perez, 25, a migrant farmworker from southern Mexico, told his interpreter that he had done nothing wrong and that the girl willingly left with him...
Authorities said (Margarita) told them she wants to go home to her parents near Tlapa in the mountains of southern Mexico. The sheriff's child protective services division is working to reunite the family.
Police said Friday that the girl is doing fine...
... police are sorting through at least three versions of how she ended up more than 600 miles from Bradenton with a man more than twice her age.
Authorities are investigating whether the relationship was sexual. ``A 12-year-old with an adult male in a sexual relationship should have triggered someone to contact us,'' Manatee County sheriff's Maj. Connie Shingledecker said. ``It's everyone's responsibility.''

The man accused in the disappearance of 12-year-old Margarita Aguilar-Lopez early this week was booked into the county jail Saturday afternoon on $100,000 bail, authorities said.
Antonio Paulino-Perez was charged with interfering with child custody, a jail employee said. Bradenton police officers are still trying to figure out whether the 25-year-old migrant farmworker abducted Margarita...

Man In Missing Girl Case Appears In Court - from TBO.com (http://news.tbo.com/news/MGBEUIP688E.html)
In his first Florida appearance since his arrest in the disappearance of a 12-year-old Mexican girl from a Bradenton motel, Antonio Paulino- Perez told a judge Sunday that he is poor and just wants to work again in the fields...
Law-enforcement officials do not yet know whether the girl, who had lived at the Bradenton motel with her brother, 23-year-old Rufino Aguilar, willingly accompanied Paulino-Perez on the 600-mile journey to a part of South Carolina where there is a migrant population from his home region of Guerrero, Mexico.
Nor have investigators determined whether there was a sexual relationship between Paulino-Perez and the girl...
The man's sister, Cecilia Paulino, 21, is behind bars in Manatee County on an obstruction of justice charge related to the case...
When the judge asked the man whether he could afford an attorney, Paulino-Perez asked: ``How much do they charge?'' He was appointed a public defender...

I wondered what that is about and found in another article at the Bradenton Herald that she "lied to detectives, failing to tell them she had spoken with her brother"....not how can she be arrested and charged and the three that lied in the Lunsford case aren't?? :confused: (I mean I know they were arrested, but charges were dropped...I wonder if charges will be dropped in this case too?)

I read in one article that when she was shown pictures of her brother, she denied knowing him and the girl.

Bradenton Herald | 05/11/2005 | Girl, 12, returned home to Mexico (http://www.bradenton.com/mld/bradenton/news/local/11615003.htm)
Twelve-year-old Margarita Aguilar-Lopez returned Tuesday afternoon to her native Mexico, where authorities say she will be reunited with her mother.
Two weeks after the Bradenton Police Department issued a national alert in their search for the girl, detectives say Margarita's disappearance may not have been an abduction after all...
"I don't feel like it was an abduction. I feel she went willingly," Bradenton police Det. Lt. Keith Davis said. "We stand by the charges we're sending to the state attorney's office and it'll be up to them whether they follow through with the charges or not..."
Tuesday's reunion does not bring the two-week old case to a close. Manatee County court records show Paulino-Perez is scheduled for an arraignment hearing June 3.
If convicted, he could face a maximum of five years behind bars, according to state statutes. Because Paulino-Perez is an illegal immigrant, he may also face deportation.

Bradenton Herald | 05/14/2005 | Paulino-Perez won't face charges (http://www.bradenton.com/mld/bradenton/news/local/11644464.htm)
A 25-year-old man arrested in connection with the disappearance of Margarita Aguilar-Lopez will not face charges.
Prosecutors declined to file a formal third-degree felony charge of interfering with parental custodial rights Thursday after an investigation by law enforcement officers determined that Margarita left Florida with Antonio Paulino-Perez voluntarily, according to an affidavit released Friday by the State Attorney's Office of the 12th Judicial Circuit.
The same affidavit says Margarita might be 15, not 12, that she is pregnant and Paulino-Perez is the father of the child...
"The evidence demonstrates the victim went willingly with the defendant, who was removing her from the custody of her brother amid concerns for her personal safety..."
