Janet and Raven went to college with me. I actually heard she was murdered from my sister-in-law, got on the internet to find out anything else, figured something wasn't right, and ended up at Mr. AG's blog and here.

Yep, I might not have known about this case otherwise as I typically look at missing persons cases when I'm just surfing around.

Me too. But at the same time, they seem the most crucial, and the area where the most help can probably be had by talking about things. Murders are more depressing to me. We can talk & talk & talk but Janet will not be coming back. On the missing thread, you occassionally get a happy ending. :)

I know what you mean, at the end of the Peterson trial I felt like "OK we won, can Connor & Laci come back now?"

Thanks for all the hard work you guys have done. Still making my way through all the posts. Some real digging and sleuthing has been done here. Reminds me of the early days on the Laci forum. so Thank you!! BTW, on the Wilbanks thread (Crimes in the news) I told everybody there to come check this out and help build momentum to raise public awareness. L

I went over to Loretta's site because of a comment posted about the meltdown at Bitwiz's site and Gnarlene's nasty comments. Reading through the posts about their "dirty tricks", Mr Allgood's post on Janet came up. I then went to Mr. Allgood's blog and followed his links. I'm glad to see it come over here.......

I was just thinking about that too. Misterallgood is the one who brought this story to WS so if you think about it, the numbers for his blog, the original thread, and this forum are all thanks to misterallgood. So 40 out of 58 of us that voted in the poll would not have heard about this if it weren't for misterallgood's blog or from him transferring the story to these boards. 11 of the other 58 knew Janet personally. That leaves a total of 7 out of 58 that heard of it somehow other than personally or through Misterallgood's blog! Once again, misterallgood, hats off to you. :)

I heard about it from the original thread in the crimes forum here at WS...for a while I was into it, reading everyday and posting...but now I just don't have time to keep up...I mean I could literally spend the entire day sleuthing with you guys, but my life (and bank account) says I must do otherwise :o

I do check in here regularly and read to see what new stuff you all have come up with...keep up the good work!!

I'm so happy you feel this way now, but blame Golfmom when I run out of Chocolate and start whining, she's the one who got me all worked up over this case... her and her buddy Blaize seem to think I could be of assistance in sleuthing this...

As long as my DH keeps me in chocolate I'm all yours... let me know if I can jump in and help anywhere, othrewise you'll find me reading the forum and doing my best to keep up.

http://bestsmileys.com/eating1/20.gifUnfortunately the posting has slowed down quite a bit. Maybe it's just that it's the weekend. In any case, at this point it's possible that you'll be able to catch up.

The biggest problem we have is that LE isn't letting go of much. We did get a search warrant but it appears that some things on the warrant weren't divulged. Forensic testing was done; swabbings done on the one vehicle that was at the house, (even though they owned 3 or 4), samples collected, etc. We don't even know if the lab has processed them yet. It doesn't seem to be a priority in Durham to solve this so who knows how many other cases might be ahead of Janet's. We don't know if the computers were taken; even if they were, their computer analyst is a year behind.

There seems to be a lot of circumstantial evidence pointing at Raven, and that's leading some to speculate that he would have been arrested by now if LE felt like he was the perp. At the same time, if forensic testing was done, and the lab hasn't gotten it back yet, it might be possible that they aren't going to make an arrest until they get those results back, regardless of the circumstantial evidence. Imagine them arresting him on the cir. evidence, and then the lab results come back, somehow clearing Raven. Then LE's got a BIG problem on their hands.

Anyway, we just need more brains looking at this, and giving their impressions. Many of us are starting to look at this with blinders on, and we're starting to run into brick walls.

So if you run out of chocolate while reading, let us know & we'll FedEx you some - just please don't go away!!! lol!

Every time I see you now I'll be singing The Bunny Song from veggie tales!

I don't want no pickles, I don't want no honey,
I just want a plate and a fork and a bunny
I don't want a tissue when my nose is runny,
I just want a plate and a fork and a bunny
I don't want to tell you a joke that is funny,
I just want a plate and a fork and a bunny
I don't want to play on a day that is sunny,
I just want a plate and a fork and a bunny

The Bunny, the bunny, whoa I love the bunny
I don't love my mom or my dad, just the bunny
The Bunny, the bunny, Yeah I love the bunny
I gave everything that I ha-a-a-aaad fo-or the bu-unnnyyyy!!

I worked with Raven a few years ago. It was mentioned here in the office. Someone sent and article from the News & Observer. I went on the web to find more info and found this site. It has been interesting to read some of your observations. I wish LE would offer more info, heck any info at this point would be good.

I came across this case while reading a thread about Natalee H. (and all the press her disappearance has generated) and immediately hopped over to the site when I saw Durham NC, I lived in Durham for almost 15 years prior to moving to Hillsborough (home of Eurosport)( and right next door to durham). I cannot believe that I heard nothing about this case. I get home delivery of HeraldSun (Durham paper) saw nothing in it about the case (I must have missed the paper the day after the murder). Everywhere I go, people have been talking about Sapikowski murders in Chapel Hill, nothing about this, WHY?

I rarely post here on websleuths but one quiet evening I was browsing here during the Wilibanks fiasco and discovered the original thread dealing with Janet's murder. From there I went to Steve Huff's brilliantly incisive blog and from reading there I became more and more appalled that a "real" murder had been eclipsed by the media feeding frenzy over the "Run Away Bride". It was even more bizarre that after all that furore wound down that the media has almost zero interest in Janet's murder.

I know that we're only members of a public message board and not law enforcement or anything close to it but this message board has served as a public meeting place for those with a genuine interest in seeing this crime solved and the murderer brought to book for his crime.

Sad, unbelievable & grossly unfair are only some of the adjectives I'd use to describe how Janet's murder has seemed to be swept under the collective carpet. I hope one day soon that we do see justice for Janet & her unborn child .

You are so right blaize...and not only the media having zero interest in Janet's murder but the husband and family having zero interest in helping to solve Janet's murder....in addition to LE not asking for any help from the public. It doesn't appear that anyone cares about finding who killed Janet and her baby and making this person(s) account for their actions?

........it is very unfortunate that the (fake ) run-away bride hogged the media at the time.......
..also...........had raven.............ummmmmmmmm..i mean, the murderer, "dumped the body" ( sorry, that sounds so awful) elsewhere..........then------

---YES, the media would have been all over it...( a la' laci peterson)but, how sad is it that murdered spouses/girlfriends are all too common and just don't get the press coverage ?.

Oh I know you do term....as well as many of us that have stuck with this case for all these months. I read alot of various threads here and most of the activity are on those forums that have media coverage. For everyone to stick with this case day after day without media coverage is amazing! The point I was trying to make is that it's just us....no husband, no family, crying for justice, requesting help (unless it's for money)....do they even care if there is an arrest for this horrific crime? Doesn't seem so!

I know this is tough because of the resounding silence but I firmly believe that law enforcement cares about this case. I don't for one minute think they're going to let Raven off the hook if they really suspect his involvment.

On the face of it this seems a very open & shut case but considering the personality of the prime suspect Raven and his past activities, LE may be checking and double checking & then checking everything again before they make a move.

I realise that the frustration many posters here have expressed must be
infinitesimal compared to what Janet's parents, siblings & other family members must be feeling and for that reason I will keep reading here for as long as it takes and keep the faith that justice for Janet is not far away.

..absolutely....i'm sure that everyone here ( well, except for a tiny few in the minority) are hoping for the same..........that LE is getting a super tight case together for the DA...........'done deal/slam dunk' at trial so that "the accused" doesn't slide by due to double jeopardy...

..i do think of janet's family & friends always.......and have nothing but praise for those faithful posters that are keeping this thread going.........( you guys seriously rock!)...........we will see justice.........we will.
