Why, oh why isn't anyone under arrest. This was soooo brutal. Sicko(s) on the loose! Red alert. Come on, people. This is unbelievable. Media needs to pick this up again, and get LE to take names! This reeks!

Because this case doesn't meet the upper-middle class, white picked fence criteria??
Just a thought...

Because there is no news, and if LE knows anything, they aren't releasing it. I hope they're doing this because they have a good idea where the kids are and want to protect them.

Just a thought , is there any chance LE could be involved in all this . It just seems kind of funny that there is nothing to go on . Three people are battered to death , blood everywhere in the house on the door on the car and two kid's are missing . LE has nothing:doh: this is very hard to believe . What about the plastic ties are they the same ones that LE use . Seems sad that the whole thing is just being left to get cold . Where are those kids .........
My oppinion only .... but I would be taking a closs look at the local LE

I agree Cali, and I don't think this can hardly be classed as a "Cold Case".
There are cases I have heard and read about in the past and after several months of hearing nothing all of a sudden the case is solid and it is released to the public.
Too much information released to the public can be harmful to a case, especially when they are gathering conclusive evidence against someone.

I agree with CaliKid and Tom'sGirl - this is not a "Cold Case."
I sense LE is busy and has broad support from federal LE agencies.

I hardly think that LE is involved in the murders of these people. Just because the PUBLIC doesn't have any new information, doesn't mean that they don't. Keeping an investigation close to the cuff is protocol. Showing all your cards to the public isn't a wise move and serves no purpose except to draw out all of the nut cases who want to confess to a crime they didn't commit for attention, or to let on to the real killer(s) what evidence they have. The details and certain discoveries at the crime scene often lead to the suspect(s) and their subsequent arrests.
Considering the gruesome crime scene, they probably have a lot of evidence to go through, not to mention that some DNA, and other crime lab tests take several weeks to months to produce results. Another consideration is the fact that this very well could be a drug related case. If it is you will not get any information, as informants could be involved, and we the public will not hear a word until arrests are made or "persons of interest" are brought to our attention.
So, I think to say that maybe LE may be involved is very ignorant - their silence may even be keeping those children alive somewhere. Who knows. This type of statement just reminds me of the Scott Peterson case and how the cops planted evidence, etc. What a joke. Give the LE personnel some credit. They have a tough job. We spend a lot of our holidays, weekends and evenings without our husbands while they are at work doing their job to protect their communities. They never know what type of call they are going to and I'm certain that the men and women who responded to the Goene home had a lot of sleepless nights over it. Can you imagine seeing a 13 year old boy, bound and gagged with his head beat in?

I think we all have the right to express our thought's here . It has nothing to do with ignorance . We all know LE is not always what it should be . If you take everything personel just because your husband works for LE maybe you should stay away from this board .. This is just my opinion

I hardly think it fair to ask her to stay away from this board or not to express her opinion!
That is what we are about different minds coming together..

I tend to agree that this case may take a long time to solve, LE may be just waiting for the or a perp. to make a move.

Stay away from this board? Give me a break!!!! I've been here for a long time and that is not my opinion just because I'm married to a cop. I actually worked atthe MPD for seven years, so I actually know of what I speak. I know how investigations work, how tiplines work (I was the Crimestoppers Coordinator for seven years) and how anonymous tips are handled and followed up on. I know how drug cases and homicides are investigated as well. I backed up my opinion with valid reasons why the Public doesn't need to know everything.............can you back up your comment on WHY you think LE is involved???? Just because the public isn't privy to confidential investigation information doesn't mean the cops are involved.
I'm waiting...you really need to read the rules on posting on this board and some etiquette. I called the statement ignorant because it was not backed up by any legitimate or logical reasons. If you have some I'd like to hear them.
Yes there are good eggs and bad eggs in every profession, but I highly doubt the LE is involved in these murders. So, don't tell me to stay off the board cause I will go head to head with you on LE protocol every time. I saw no reason for you to throw that statement out there with no valid backing! Most of the posters on this board don't take kindly to LE bashing in any form unless there is actual evidence of it. The only evidence in this case is a triple homicide, and two missing children.
I appreciate and welcome your opinions, littlereed, as well as all others.
And, honestly, I haven't seen any LE *bashing*. But, from what I have seen, nobody is safe from being scrutinized on these forums. Just what I've observed .... no offense meant.
Many of us do indulge in a lot of speculation and it does at times, get wild! ;) All opinions are welcome and open for discussion, imo.

I agree Liz, all opinions should be open for discussion.
Perhaps littlereed may be referring to post #5, but I think that post was made in frustration like we all have been at certain times on this board.
I was reviewing an old vido and especially the part where the Sheriff mentions Steve Groene's polygraph.........it's kind of a long video but I'm glad I reviewed it again.
Video - Press Conference from 5/23/05

Ditto, Wayne. This Sherriff's office hasn't had to deal with such a horrific crime before, or at least in the last 10+ years, that I know of. They're "keeping it close to the vest" and I'm really wondering if it's because they have a suspect but are awaiting the dna results. I DO NOT, however, think they have ANY idea where those kids are. :(

Did he go on to say that no one has been ruled out at this time?

I don't believe it's a cold case, either.
But, the sheriff himself, "Sheriff Rocky Watson", made a statement a couple of weeks ago about "DNA evidence" and he plainly said, "It just doesn't exist".
That sure sounded like DNA was a dead-end to me!

They have said that there's "no evidence linking Steve Groene to the crime or making him a person of interest".

Do you have a link? I didn't hear about that.
There was blood all over the place, I guess I can imagine that it was only the victim's blood...and I can imagine there were all sorts of fingerprints around there.
I've said it at CTV and I'll say it here...SOMEONE who was at that bbq knows SOMETHING.
Do you have a link? I didn't hear about that.
Nope, sorry but I don't. I heard it straight from the horse's mouth on Krem or Kxly or Khq, right on my TV news.
ETA: Found my post from the archives by googling.
Here is my post from earlier about the sheriff's comment.
Then there was the comment made by the Sheriff in which he said something about matching dna to a database. Then he said, 'it just doesn't exist'. I took that to mean there is not any DNA evidence.
Lili took exception and took it to mean that the dna just didn't match the fingerprint database. But that's not 'what I heard', when I heard the sheriff. But, it's all in the perception, as I say!

I think the media's too concerned with the crap going on with Jim West to report about this...that & the sherriff's are "keeping it close to the vest".

Did he go on to say that no one has been ruled out at this time?He said they hadn't slammed the door on anything! Said "no Golden Lead Yet"; said for everyone we talk to it leads to a lead from someone else.
Oh, forgot to mention he said the search teams WOULD NOT be brought back in unless they got a tip on something (meaning I guess to the bodies, only thing I can think of)
Remember, this was a video from May 23, so a lot has transpired since then!

Uh-huh. ;) I agree. Mayor West doesn't interest me. Wouldn't surprise me if he's been set up.
I just pray the sheriff has a lot more than he is letting on to.
Oh, I added to my post above, and probably before you posted what I am responding to. I was baking (er, burning lol!) something and left the keyboard, in mid-edit. :banghead:

Tom's Girl I watched that video link again . I don't think the Father had anything to do with this , it was just too horrific .

Redeskimo, I sent you no such "threatening message"...I just asked to to refrain from telling me to stay off the board and asked you what your reasons were for insinuating that LE were involved in the murders of that family. At the time of your post my message was still unread by you. I suggest we just put each other on the ignore list, but I do take offense for you telling me to stay off the board when I expressed my opinion just as you did. Kind of like the kettle calling the pot black.

Littlereed the reason I sugested you stay of the board was because you were taking it all a bit too personal . I dont think you can say that LE was not involved 100% because we are all just people , we trust other people , but we never realy know them . I was a friend of Liz Ratliff I knew Michael Peterson . I thought I knew him . never realy liked him , but that was somthing else . As for replying before I even read your pm , well I'm not that good at looking into the future , but I'm working on it . Two children are missing and we are all trying to help find them , and I think thats the real reason we come on this board . I know thats the reason I come on for .
