Yes, they Adam Housley just reported that he blogged an entry on May 13th! Just 2-3 days prior to the murders.

I wish I knew. I initially felt he got the children through some 'hand off'. But, maybe he spotted the children and did commit the heinous murders.

As far as I have read, he got his first conviction at the age of 16. It doesn't make him any less the sicko, but I was just reciting what I remembered from the blog.

He got a suspended sentence from his first offense and when he told others about his adventures from age 12, the powers that be decided to lock him up. That is his apparent first beef with LE. He got a suspended sentence for the rape at gunpoint that he committed on the 14 year old boy the day he stole that gun, but then he bragged about his previous crimes and they decided he better go to prison. He claimed he was just saying those things to "fit in" with the others in his therapy group, but the court wasn't hearing that and put him away.

This was in one of the articles posted here this morning, but I cannot find it any more.

I am working on an encrypted journal that is hundreds of times more frank than this blog could ever be (that's why I keep it encrypted). How do people find this funny? I don't get it. While most of these comments express the rage that most of us probably feel, a few people are deliberately offensive. Did they not hear how Shasta started crying and asking for her Daddy? Do they have no idea that she may have witnessed 3, (or God forbid), 4 murders, and who knows what else? Do they not realize that she is only 8 years old? Look at this garbage:


I think this guy deserves something alright.

He deserves a BIG THANK YOU. He got rid of two drug addicts and two future prison/welfare losers. He showed the young girl how to live a productive lifestyle and taught her how breakfast was important. I think a parade is in order for this guy.

If he has stayed in contact with so many other offenders as his blogs have suggested, there may even be information on several sex crimes at large. My computer won't allow me onto his site (potential viruses...my virus protection isn't up to date) can you give any other quotes from his site that you found to be of interest???

My guess would be that they have already read/or are reading this p.o.s.'s blog entries. The police dep't in Cd'A are the ones who announced this website, so I'm sure that fbi is alllllllllll over it. (but we know what happens when we assume, right?!)

I soooo hope that the fbi is questioning him on other missing kids though, because this is simply frightening. And in reading his blogs, I fear that he did kill Dylan (because he's a boy) and kept Shasta alive to be his "girlfriend" so he wouldn't be alone, which he stated was his fear. I also think, in reading his blogs, that he unleashed some of his "demons" at Shasta & Dylan, because he stated that there were only 2 other people who had experienced his demons as of late, and they probably wouldn't ever read the blogs.

I worry about how twisted this tale will become once the details start to emerge. God bless that sweet angel, Shasta, and keep praying for Dylan. Wow, Wayne, you read it all!? You're fast! I've been here and watching news almost all day long. I read a little bit there.

I feel certain this SOB is going to be connected to some other missing children. First one that came to mind was the little boy, Matel, from Milwaukee, Oregon. But, I think that may have been too distant.

My mind is going crazy with thoughts ... wondering IF he didn't have Dylan and tried to force him to do things to Shasta and he refused and died over it .... and other horrible thoughts. Knowing he is a photography fan, from reading his site ... oh the horrors of the thoughts that go through my mind.

I posted on the other thread -- not only did he mention her but he was defending his alibi... almost -- that posting totally struck me as weird -- like him trying to find his receipt so he could prove it if he had to since he got groceries that day -- and the posting was 6 mths after her disappearence -- if i am not mistaken. Not only that obviously he has spend some time in Minn -- isn't that where he was released on the 15k bond for the 2 boys???? He wanted to tell me about a new technology he'd been playing around with that could make several of the projects I've been involved with simpler to implement (MS ISA). I had a chef salad for lunch and cheese and summer sausage later for a snack in leu of dinner.


Then did a search on the girl he is referring to -- she has not been found -- I hope they are checking this out!!!! This guy is sick!!!

The perps in the chain or underground will need to create a new website and spread the word. Duncan's blog mentioned Duncan used encryption. If true, getting data quickly may be almost impossible - even with FBI help. I've developed encryption solutions previously (DES/3DES, Blowfish, IDEA, SEAL, RC4, etc) and I know breaking the key codes and pass codes (types of passwords) will take time - hundreds of hours if not monger - if they try it at all. Unfortunately, I fear it is possible enough time will pass to allow the underground (or Duncan's circle of perps) to recover.:mad:

IMO, when the news broke of Shasta being located alive, alarms went off at the houses within Duncan's underground and operations shut-down, disposing of evidence and children in their control.

IMO, Duncan (or the perps) may have told Shasta if they were ever caught, Dylan would be sent home to heaven. Therefore, if she really loved her brother Dylan, she'd better cooperate. Once she was recovered by LE, in her child's mind, Dylan is dead. Which may not be necessarily true.

He used the id JETD63 (possibly T=third????) -- from what I can tell people hide these things, then leave criptic msg -- then people solve the cryption, physically follow the directions in the message, if they then can find it -- they "get credit" for a find -- they verify the find, by entering the coordinates (long/lag) of the, I guess "treasure" -- this is the link that has his profile -- but have to join --

Is there a board for this as I am so pissed with these people - and I believe the mother must have known all the while crying to the police or do I have that wrong?? I mean she said she had not seen him for 3 hours because she thot he was wth the grandmother (or have I got that wrong). I sooooo agree with your frustration re predators. I am hoping (and hoping!) that the public cases so far this year are really bringing to light the problems, and that good will come out of it.

Re other charges, IMO, they are going to be slow and careful, and he will be charged appropriately at his first hearing. Don't worry, if it happened, he'll be charged. I feel better knowing they'll take their time, do it right; rather than jump the gun and then have to backpeddle. You know how those defense atty's will try to muddy up the water :doh:

Still Confused
My blog entries lately are erratic and full of a lot of B.S., for that I apologize. I am just trying to put down what is in my head, regardless. As far as "taking people with me" well, I don't know if that is right or wrong. In fact, I don't know much any more what right and wrong even is. My view is either everything is right (in some regard) or everything is wrong (in some other regard). The question (one I am struggling with at this point) is, "Does it matter?"Does anything matter? My mother is crying right now, because her son is in trouble again. She tried to raise a good son, and she knows her son has a good heart, so why does he do these things? She is probably more hurt and confused than me. Does it matter? It hurts me to know these things, but DOES IT MATTER??? A hundred years from now, all my mothers pain will be forgotten, and other mothers will cry for there sons. A million years from now there probably won't be any mothers (at least not like we know). I have feelings, in fact I think I must be more sensitive than most people because I seem to feel more than they do, at least more than what they openly express. I feel for the starving children and families in the world, others say, "Oh, that's too bad, but I can't do anything so..."<BR>I wish I could be more honest about my feelings, but those demons made sure I'd never be able to do that. I might not know if it matters, but just in case, I am working on an encrypted journal that is hundreds of times more frank than this blog could ever be (that's why I keep it encrypted). I figure in 30 years or more we will have the technology to easily crack the encryption (currently very un-crackable, PGP) and then the world will know who I really was, and what I really did, and what I really thought. Also, maybe then they will understand that despite my actions, I'm not a bad person, I just have a disease contracted from society, and it hurts a lot. I hope to complete this journal before I die (soon) or turn myself in (I still might do that, I think it is the right thing, but of course, I'm not sure). Speak of being sure; I wish I could be sure about my thoughts.

But right now the only thing I'm sure about is that I'm sure about nothing. It is not a good position to be in considering my circumstances (being a felony
fugitive and all).

The Demons Have Taken Over

Thanks for the comments. As far as letting God take care of the Demons, too late. They've locked up the "Happy Joe" person in the same dungeon that "Happy Joe" kept them in for so many years. Now they are loose and I am very afraid. From now on I may refer to "Happy Joe" as "Jet" (me) and the demons as "The Bogeyman." If you are familiar with me or even my fifthnail website then you will understand the names.
I have been asking God to help defeat the demons. In fact, last night I was on my knees begging him, crying out loud to him, to help me. He didn't answer, again. The problem is I am loosing my religion. I don't accept anything at face value, not even my own thoughts. So when I start having religious convictions I question the source.

And in my current situation I figure I am under a lot of stress, and there are
perfectly natural human mechanisms that account for all religious experiences.

The demons (if that's what they/it are/is--I use the term for mere convenience) have convinced me that I should at least question my religious beliefs, (this makes sense, otherwise I would believe anything) and that is how they got the key to the dungeon, and trapped me inside. To be more specific, I am scared, alone, and confused, and my reaction is to strike out toward the perceived source of my misery, society. My intent is to harm society as much as I can, then die. As for the "Happy Joe" (Jet), well he was just a dream. The bogeyman was alive and happy long before Happy Joe. I was in prison for over 18 years, since the age of 17. As an adult all I knew was the oppression of incarceration.

All those years I dreamed of getting out...And getting even. Instead, I got out and I got even, but did not get caught. So, I got even again, and again did not get caught. So, I figured, well, I got even twice (actually more, but that's here nor there), even if I'm the only one who knows, so now what? Well that was when the "Happy Joe" dream started. I met a bunch of really great people, the kind of people I didn't even know existed, but here they were, bunches of them, my neighbors, my landlords, my professors, my coworkers, and they were all good people, who were willing to give me a chance despite my past. They were willing to accept me and be my friend, something that was new for me, having been betrayed by many "friends" and even my own family. So, I tried to make it work. But the problem was those demons. The ones who "got even" for me. They kept reminding me that if my new "friends" knew about them (and what they, I, had done to even), then so much for their friendship. So, "Happy Joe" was just dreaming, or pretending to be happy.

Wrestling With Demons

Yes, I am still alive. I honestly wish not, I just don’t know how to kill myself so it makes sense. Nothing makes sense to me right now. Last night I realized I was “scared and alone.” Being scared doesn’t bother me as much as being alone, but it is a fate that I probably chose sometime before I was ever born because I’ve been making the decision to fight my battles alone since I was a small child. The current battle is of epic proportions (I do not make this claim idly either). It is a battle between me and my demons. Only two people in the world have a clue as to the power and nature of my demons (besides me) and they will probably never read this. But just the same, these demons are stronger than even I gave them credit for, and now they are taking my best blows and not even staggering. I’m afraid, very afraid. If they win then a lot of people will be badly hurt, and they’ve had their way before, so I know what they can do. I’ve been praying a lot and asking God for help. I’ve asked him to step in and intercede directly, because I see no other way at this point that I can win. If you are reading this, and you believe in God, please pray for God to help me defeat my demons. God has shown me the right choice, but my demons have me tied to a spit and the fire has already been lit. I don’t know if the right choice is even an option any more!

So, I've been accused of molesting a little boy. Those close to me know I didn't do it of course, how could I, I'm not even a pedophile. Well, I'm not a psychopath either, I feel the full force and pain of everyone I have ever hurt, but that doesn't stop me from doing what I need to do. Ultimately my feelings don't matter, I learned that in prison. I have to carry out my orders or a lot worse than just me dying could happen.

Teaching The World To Sing

Each time I re-read what I wrote in Key West I understand a little more, and realize more what God has been trying to tell me for the longest time, and what I have been wanting to know for just as long. For instance, just now I realized the answer to a question I've been asking myself for years: <I>What can I do to get people to realize how everything is connected? Well, I just found the answer hidden in my own ponderings from that Sunny Sunday morning: Any attempt to make the world a better place imediately and directly interfers with God's Harmonic intentions. All answers must come in there own time, and God has the timing already figured out according to reasons infinitely beyond my own ability to reason. So, there is nothing that I "can do," but instead I must continue to strive to give-in to God's Will, because it is through this "non-doing" that his Will can be seen. I'm growing a lot lately faster than I want at times.

What Friends Are For

A friend of mine pointed out that I spend too much time dwelling on my past (sex offense 25 years ago) and she offered this blog as evidence. She said I was also very negative, likewise evidenced in this blog. Wow. She is obviously correct, and it bothers me that I hadn't seen this before. Not that I'm really negative inside, I'm really not. I love my life, and I love the world, and I believe genuinely that God does not make mistakes, so there is nothing “wrong” about the way things are. I know from ongoing personal
experience that my struggle to know the Truth is Gods gift to me! His gift can
be acknowledge and recognized, but it can never be lost or possessed. So, I
truly am a happy person on a level where being happy really counts. So, Thank you pretty neighbor girl for pointing out this sad impression I’ve been giving and allowing me the opportunity to amend my ways.

Yes, I know a lot about abuse, from all three sides, the victims, the offenders, and the systems. I'm not saying let offenders do their thing, I have no problem with taking direct measures to stop people from hurting people. But I think it is more effective to take direct measures to stop people from wanting to hurt people. We should offer free offender counseling and even amnesty for certain types of offenses if the offender agrees to treatment (before they are caught). That would be a very practical and effective way to reduce sex crimes dramatically. I doubt it will ever happen though, because our society loves the excitement that sex offenders bring into our living rooms through the media and we would be lost without someone to point our fingers at. (This is a known sociological concept, so before you call me off the wall study up a bit!)

on castrating sex offenders ... if someone attacked my wife or child I would at least try to forgive them (I'm not perfect, or holier than anyone), and I would likely get even more upset when I hear people talk about fighting crime with more crime. IMO, I'm thinking Duncan and Shasta did not stay in CdL in Idaho but instead were driving through the area. Exited I-90 and grabbed a bite to eat at Denny's with plans to get back on I-90 to destinations known only to Duncan. IMO Duncan was going to visit someone in Washington state - and leave Shasta at a safe-house; or Duncan had visited someone in Washington state - and had earlier picked Shasta up from a safe-house. I wonder if Duncan even knew that was Shasta's hometown they were stopping in? Or could he have come back for Brenda's ashes being scattered?

IMO, it is obvious he traveled alot at night... and at 2:00-AM, it is likely Duncan thought it was not uncommon for a dad and young daughter to stop during summer. Except this was Shasta's home town. And people were looking for her. And the people at Denny's identified her and rescued her.

IMO, I tend to think Duncan made a mistake. Not that he wanted to turn himself in. If Duncan had wanted to get caught, he'd be spilling his stories to LE instead of lawyering-up and staying silent.

He'd hide her somewhere ... and the fact she was eating tells me they were likely return from her having been hide in a safe-house somewhere.

He was probably running out of money, knew he would have to do something with that little girl sooner or later, and may have been trying to decide if he could just let her go someplace. If he had just wanted to get something to eat, he could have called in an order and sent her in to pick it up, or gone in himself and left her in the car. There were so many ways he could have handled it without having several people notice who she was. If he spent that much time with an innocent little girl, perhaps he really didn't have the stomach for murdering her too, but was struggling with whether she would identify him if he let her go. His blog showed a very confused and conflicted person who was rapidly declining from the life he wanted to have -- aspired to have for four years of school. He knew it was not going to happen because of the court case he had. He knew they would send him back to prison forever and for what? After all the sick thoughts he had fought himself over, it seemed (in his sick rationale) unfair somehow to lose his whole life for just pulling a kid's pants down -- seemingly a much smaller crime than stuff he probably got away with before. So murdering and mutilating people he didn't know may have been easy enough when he was really angry at the whole world, but after spending all that time with this little girl, a tiny person who didn't turn him on or threaten him sexually, he may not have had the stomach for it. He could treat her just like a pet but he knew he could not keep her and he could not afford to just let her go either.

He has been called a schizophrenic several times and he may have been in the wrong frame of mind to murder. That may have been ultimately what saved her life. If her brother is gone, it could be that he raped him and killed him before he got any attachment. We shall have to wait and see. But I don't think he intended to keep this little girl on a permanent basis and I don't think he was going to involve others in this. He was a loner. People like that don't trust others. And if he murdered that family by bludgeoning them like that... it kind of fits into the rage he demonstrated about his hate for society.

I don't know, I could be wrong, but loners like this guy may make online buddies but I doubt it would carry over to trusting anyone with his real persona and sharing children with them.

I'm trying to make his connection to that crime and I'm having a hard time. Unless he was after Slade too, I just can't piece it. Did he meet up with Lutner? Is there some acquaintance with someone he knows from CDA or TAcoma? Could he have been in jail with someone who knew the family? Is it possible he was just buying drugs and saw the family? I can't put my finger on it but I don't think he acted alone. I do think he was at the house, like the bbq but I'm not sure why or that he did the murders. Could he have been at the campground next to the house and seen Slade mowing the lawn or Dylan playing outside? It's so hard to know. I saw Shasta's dad on Geraldo, he said she seems ok...she's been playing a lot of video games. They do not want to question her right now, that will be too much for her. Also, he addressed the Holloway/Twitty family & advised them to keep the faith, that no matter how long a child is gone, they can still come home! From what I understand, the mother and the child lived with the step-grandmother, (although I don't believe that the step-father lived there). I saw the mother on television briefly while they were still searching, and she seemed genuine but I have been wrong a few times. My stomach turns when I hear about the step-grandmother returning to the house with a red substance on her shirt. Absolutely sickening. No matter how much this stuff happens, I still cannot grasp it. I find it terribly painful to repeatedly hear about children being betrayed by those on whom they are forced to rely. I don't want to sound judgmental, and I have zero professional knowledge about this okay. Here in San Diego, there are A LOT of tweekers, methheads, whatever you want to call them. It's VERY common. (I have never done it. I don't even know where to score some good weed!) Okay, but the people here that are "known" addicts, they have this same appearance as how this Duncan guy looks now. The skin just looks "different." Leathery, something.

I think he was there getting drugs, meth. I think he may have met up with someone he met online or through jail and they set out together across to Washington. Maybe both were on the lam. How they ended up at the Groene house, who knows. But this other guy, goes crazy, freaks out on the family. Duncan convinces this guy to spare the lives of the two little ones, probably for his own sexual gratification later on. Later, Duncan fears for his own life and gets away with maybe only Shasta. Maybe Dylan is killed by this other perp and that was the straw that made Duncan get away.

Just a thought. I just don't think he acted alone. He's a weird guy, he tested the waters by going into Dennys that night and I think if he was bold enough to kill them like that (alone) he would have either A) killed Shasta too earlier or B) brought her in public in the daytime to basically give the middle finger to LE.

We know that at the age of 16, he raped a 14 year-old at gunpoint, (with a stolen gun), before setting him on fire. I have no idea. Maybe there is something to the number 5 as someone else mentioned. Maybe he was fixated on one of the particular children.

I don't know if this guy just wanted to sound a certain way for future notoriety but I wonder what we might learn if and when LE crack his encrypted journal. What does he mean that he got even more than twice but didn't get caught? He also mentions that people were willing to give him a chance in spite of his past. But then he says that if they knew what he had done to get even, those friendships would be gone. If they knew about the sexual offender history, what exactly was it that he did of which they were NOT aware; the things that would cause him to lose his friendships?

Don't get me wrong, I am not sympathic to the guy at all, I think he is a real sicko.
I didn't read very much of his blog, but what I did read showed a guy with trouble finding friends or having any kind of a close relationship with anyone. That is probably why he feels so comfortable on the web, because no one can "see" into him. He seemed to be very much a loner and very paranoid! On the www he could be anonymous and take on any personality he wanted. Earlier, I got slammed for saying I wondered if the reason this guy showed up in Cor D Alene was to bring Shasta back. He didn't trust LE, he was on the run, he probably had run out of money, from his writings- he may have been suicidal. But no matter how he got Shasta, he had to know that being in Cor D Alene, she would be recognised. And if she was recognised, he would be arrested. So I think he had given up on running and was trying to take Shasta home. Maybe he planned on abandoning her there, maybe he was hoping for cop assisted suicide, I don't know why. But the guy wasn't unintelligent, he had to have guessed that she would be recognised.
While I am conflicted about the role he may have played in the murders (sometimes I think he was involved, sometimes I don't) he had no past history of murder. He assaulted boys, but then he let them go. From his writings I would guess that he is already aware that if he is convicted in Minn. he will be going in for life. Life outside prison wasn't working out like he thought. So I think he was giving up.

Shasta is so lucky he decided to take her to Dennys. He really would have gotten away with it. They have got to start locking these guys up for good!

Is this the first hint you have had that there are bad people wandering around out there? I just don't understand why you are asking, "What is going on here?" The fact that the perp appears to be a stranger is a lot more comforting to me.
