It definately has some disadvantages, these evil predators may not be sexually aroused but they can be sadists and hurt children out of frustration & retaliation... with foreign objects etc...

IMO the only way to deal with them is to lock them up forever

I agree: just LOCK THEM UP. Just put them someplace where they cannot have any contact with children or other normal, civilized people. That is the ONLY way to be sure of where they are, what they are doing, and who they are doing it to.

I agree. Oftentimes, it's just not the sexual urges to prey. They often tend to have other violent propensities.
