I'm gonna have to "gather" myself together before I can post in the guestbook, but I will.
Thanks for the link.

http://www.englishfuneralchapel.com/English/obits/07-05/D_Groene.htmThank you. That felt somewhat cathartic. I am not all that good with words, so many times I tend to shy away from that kind of thing. But this, I needed to do.:( :( :(

I noticed his 10th birthday was coming up, but I didn't notice that the funeral is the same day until you posted it.
This is such a sad story.

Is this not a tragedy that Dylans' funeral is the same day as his
10th birthday.

Oh my Lord...I can't believe this! I just signed the guest book & when I read the date, it hit me really hard. How HORRIBLE is this? This sweet, innocent little child & poor little Shasta, this is all too much to fathom.
THIS SHOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED!!!!!! The laws HAVE to change, please write to the President, Congress...anyone you can, they need to be BOMBARDED with letters. I wrote to them & am encouraging everyone I know to do the same.

I hope the family is comforted by the outpouring of love that is being sent to them.

Thanks for the link, LDC.
I'll have to postpone visiting this until another day though. Just can't bare any more pain about Dylan today.
Thank you!
ET remove sentence. I was confusing this with a memorial book Dylan's teachers are making. Sorry.

Thanks for posting the site, LDC. I don't know if the Groene family and friends derive anything from our condolences but I feel better wishing them well.

From what I've ever heard from loved ones of murder victims, I think they do get some comfort knowing that people/strangers from all over the world really, really care.

My sister disappeared in 1984. I know that my mother received cards and letters from many people and she took a great deal of comfort in them. When my sister's remains were found 11 years later, my parents had already passed away, but I can tell you that the cards and letters that my family received were very much appreciated.
I think Dylan's family and friends DO appreciate all the love directed toward them. Shasta probably will do when she's older and has the chance to look back and read them.

I just watched the video of Dylan on the website in this link. What a charming little boy he was. My heart breaks to know the fear those two children must have felt with the vile piece of garbage that took them. I think Dylan was strong for Shasta in the remaining days of his life, trying to protect her from (well, I just can't even say his name). This little boy did not deserve to die, nor his family. But they did, because of the piece of filth that was let out to walk the streets.
I am at a loss for words over this tragic story.
