Police have issued an Amber Alert for a mother who has abducted her two sons, an 8-year-old and a toddler.
Police say Eve Victoria Quintero is driving a 1985 four-door, gray Audi with Oregon license plate ZLT 982.

The vehicle is not mechanically sound and frequently needs water added to it.

Quintero, police say, has a previous suicide attempt and is unstable. She has been living in the Vancouver and Kelso area shelters in Washington.

Information about the Amber Alert appeared on signs in the Puget Sound area because authorities said the woman could have driving on Interstate 5 into Washington state.

The mother and children were last seen in Salem in the Audi at about 5 p.m. Sunday night. Police said the mother is a drug user.

Oregon state authorities have custody of the children, Justin, and 18-month-old Jonah. They had been placed with a relative.

Did they mean that Oregon state has custody of the boys but they were living with a relative when they were taken? It sounds like the mother still has them and is believed to be going to Washington state.

I hope that they are spotted soon. If the mother has been living in shelters in Washington she has no where to take the boys and no way to take care of them re: money. She is into the drugs and is unstable. Not a good place for the boys to be...with mom.

Amber Alert Canceled for 2 Oregon children

The Salem Oregon Police Department canceled the Amber Alert on Tuesday morning saying the alert was no longer appropriate. The children and the suspect have not been located at this time. Anyone with information is asked to call the Salem Oregon police at the number below.

Darn!! I was hoping they'd been found. Does this seem to be happening more and more or is it just publicized more now?

Maybe it's just me, but why has the Amber Alert been cancelled on these two boys? Doesn't make any sense that it is no longer appropriate.....what am I missing?
