Thanks for finding this. I saw it in this morning's paper and have been searching all day. Even a search on ajc.com doesn't pull it up, but I finally found it here...

ATLANTA: Pregnant woman missing

Police are seeking the public's assistance in locating a pregnant 41-year-old southwest Atlanta woman who has been missing more than a week.

Carol Huffman, who is 5 months pregnant, was last seen at her apartment in the 1100 block of Greenwich Street about 10 a.m. on Sept. 10, police said. She left a note to her boyfriend saying she was going to visit her children at an address on Oakhill Avenue. No one has seen or heard from her since then.

Police do not suspect foul play in her disappearance.

Huffman is a 5-foot-5-inch black woman weighing 145 pounds. She was driving a gray 1987 four-door Nissan Stanza with no tag.

Anyone with information should call the Atlanta police department's Missing Persons Unit at 404-853-4235, or 911.

Not much information. I wonder why they don't suspect foul play...they are obviously worried. I wonder if there has been any activity on her credit cards/cellphone/bank accounts, etc.

How frustrating when they don't put out any more information than this!!!

Actually, I just got myself so bent out of shape that I emailed one of the Metro editors of the ajc about this.

I am writing about Carol Huffman's case.

I am frustrated by the lack of detail in the paper that might help the public assist in locating her.

Has there been any activity on her bank account/credit cards/cell phone, etc?

What was she last seen wearing?

Why don’t the police suspect foul play after 11 days? Has her boyfriend been cleared as a suspect? Did she ever make it to see her children?

Have the hospitals been alerted about her case?

And on a technical note, do you know why a search of her name on the ajc.com site didn’t pull up the article? I had to search everywhere for it! It wasn’t in the metro section until I went to “Today’s Paper” and then looked in Metro – Atlanta. If I just looked there for the online version there was nothing there. Hopefully that is because she has been located.

Thanks so much!

We'll see if he bothers to write back. I'll let you know.

Good for you. You asked everything that I was wondering. I wonder who the last person was that saw her. As soon as I saw that she is pregnant I just went "oh no." Evidentally her car is missing along with her. I wonder if she has any health problems. Did they even give the license plate # for her car or the color of her car? I'm surprised there was a picture! You notice they never suspect foul play till they find the person dead.

I hope she is found soon safe and sound...if she isn't found they do need to get some more info out there.

I am right there with you about the pregnancy. Where was the boyfriend??? How about the father of her other child(ren)? Why don't the kids live with her?

They did say that she was driving a grey 1987 Nissan Stanza with NO TAG. I wonder if that will make it easier or harder to locate.

She could have gone into preterm labor or something, but you would think that they'd have figured it out by now. It's been 11 days! If she hasn't touched her bank account or phone or credit cards and no one has seen or heard from her, there's a PROBLEM!!!

FYI...I got an email back from the reporter at the AJC.

i was off all this week. so am just now getting it. huffman got in touch with the apd the very next day after news of her being missing was disseminated by the media. she said she was doing okay so the cops no longer consider her a missing person.

I guess we can move this to the "Located" file. Makes you wonder how many of the missing are found and it just isn't news.

I'm so glad she's okay and that it wasn't another pregnant woman missing/murdered case. I wonder what really happened.

We have two strange cases in Atlanta right now. One I posted in Crimes in the News about a 21 yr.old found burned in a vineyard in Gwinnett County the other on I-75 where the car is there and the person is missing. She left behind her dog and her purse. That is in Missing Info.

My gosh! It has gotten so bad it is a wonder any of us even step outside our doors much less let our kids out. I wonder what happened to these two people? Burned...that is so horrible. Someone must have grabbed the woman in the car. You just don't leave your dog and purse behind.

I'm glad the pregnant lady was found. I wonder where she was. I guess we will probably never know the rest of the story. The papers should have the common decency to let the public know when someone is found.

I agree, although I'm assuming it was something embarrassing like she just took off and was probably mortified that such a big deal was made of it. They did say in the original article that they didn't suspect foul play and were just looking for her, although I have no idea why. I'm sure there was a reason - perhaps she has done this before, maybe she had threatened to leave, who knows?

I guess the paper feels that they are respecting her privacy now that it is no longer a public matter, but it does make you wonder how much of a disservice this does to the people who are really missing. When there is no follow up, the public assumes that they were found and all is well.
