The Franklin City Police Department is investigating an abducted child from 48 S. Crowell Street. Franklin, IN. Thomas Rivera, Date of Birth 07/29/1994, a male child, 4 foot 8 inches tall, 70 pounds, short brown hair & brown eyes. Thomas Rivera was last seen at 2:12 am at 48 S. Crowell Street, and is believed to be in extreme danger. Thomas Rivera was wearing basketball shorts and a green blanket. Franklin City Police Department says Thomas Rivera was likely abducted by his father, Gabriel J. Rivera, a Hispanic male, 5 foot 7 inches tall, 185 pounds, with short brown hair. Gabriel J. Rivera forced entry into the home of the child's mother. Gabriel J. Rivera was last seen driving and suspect vehicle is a gray 1990 Buick 4 door, IN License Plate 41 E 9384 . The suspect, Gabriel J. Rivera, left Franklin via Interstate 65 possibly enroute to the North side of Indianapolis. Authorities cancel Amber Alert for Franklin boy

An Amber Alert issued for a boy abducted from a home in Franklin overnight has been rescinded, authorities said. According to WTHR-Channel 13, The Star's Newsgathering partner, the boy and the suspect have been found. The investigation continues.

Rivera was preliminarily charged with burglary, criminal confinement, criminal mischief and violating a protective order, police said.

I wonder if they are waiting to charge him with kidnapping? That would be one of the charges wouldn't it? Glad the little boy was found right away and that he hadn't been harmed. It's good to hear a good outcome.
