A convicted pervert who disappeared from a Staten Island mental institution over the weekend apparently had escaped at least once before — and allegedly committed another sex crime while on the lam that time.
Cops yesterday were still hunting for Anthony Lee, 41, who was reported missing from the South Beach Psychiatric Center on Seaview Avenue on Friday night.
Sources described Lee as a sexual abuser who has been housed at the facility since 2000, when he was accused of first-degree sexual assault and later convicted.
Lee was accused of another sex crime, in 2004, when he was supposed to be under the supervision of the facility, a source said, suggesting he had escaped his caretakers' watch at the time.
