It states only her 1st name, no location except USA, date about 1987 missing on her way home from school, found days later bound to a tree with barbed wire.
I'd like to know if this is a true story (and if it is, then it's one of the most burtal, horrific crimes I've ever read about). Were these people ever caught?

Should I post this in another forum do you think?
I read the link. I was intrigued by the story of the missing Australian syblings. As far
as Kristine I don't think anyone really knows what to say. Its a horrific story.
I hope it isn't true.

I read from the link you posted. Since she was found the only likely source for more information would be newspaper archives, or true crime forums/magazines/books.
Have you tried searching under google groups? If you put in snuff+films you will find a lot of discussions about snuff films, including them being a myth. Perhaps they mention Kristine there?
Just a suggestion to help you locate some information. Hope it helps.

Could you be thinking of the murder of Cheryl Fossyl?

No, shadowangel, that is not the one I am thinking of. Thanks anyway. The one I am thinking of was a much younger girl. I remeber reading a story about the parents not too long ago. It was really emotional. They did find her tied to a tree with wire or something, and I believe she was abducted on her way home from school or something. I will keep looking.

Just a side note. I am googling this trying to find the story I remember. You would be surprised how many children have been left tied to tries. I have read 3 stories now, :( and none of them are the one I remember. :(

http://www.majorcasesquad.org/releaseb.asp?ID=265Oh that poor little girl and her family! (Angie Housman, age 9, missingNov. 18, 1993 from St. Ann in St. Louis County, MO, found murdered, bound to a tree with duct tape, on Nov. 27, 1993)
I'm starting to think that the story about Kristine is a false one made up by the author. But how sick to make up such horrid details!
I've had no luck with google searches either. Way too many perverts using trees out there. :(

Well I see the author has a current blog, mostly devoted to religious/atheist writings, http://www.felicity.com.au/blogs.htm
And also a bondage website! The other crime stories he tells are true ones, but maybe this Kristine one is a fantasy of his own.
There is an email contact but I don't feel comfortable contacting a guy like that.

The snuff film is a fairly common urban legend. Each "confirmed" story contains enough elements from documented crimes to lend some air of truth to it. There are several sites which cite different films from different countries as the first "true" snuff film. I agree that the story of "Kristine" would appear to be purely fiction, with some details added by each person who has passed it along.

I just found a strange posting on a Kentucky true mysteries site about a girl...they say her name was Chery Lynn Strother, I wondered if they meant Cherry or Cheryl....anyways she was 16 and was murdered, tied to a tree in 1974. Here is the site, alot of people on here using it for ancestral research, but there are a few good stories, pretty cool little site.

Hello dear:
I was reading this latest posting regarding "Kristine". The only story that sounds remotely familiar to this was here in St. Louis, where I am from. The story has bothered me since the day she went missing, but her name was Angie. Angie Housman. When she was discovered, she was found nude, tied to a tree in the Bush Wild Life Conservation area. There were awful rumors about her remains, i.e., that she had been gutted like a deer, and other things like that to haunt a parent's nightmares. She was actually kept alive for a few days, was repeatedly raped and tortured, and when she was found, tied to the tree, the actual cause of death was hyperthermia. The poor little thing had frozen to death. I'm not sure how long she was tied to the tree, but her eyes and mouth were covered. I can't imagine being out in this very remote area, all alone, animals running around and not being able to see or say anything. How frightening for her.
What really bothers me is that no one has ever been arrested for her abduction and murder. My children were approximately the same age when Angie went missing and now they are thriving 24 year old young ladies, but poor Angie didn't get the chance to experience life's joys. No, she was subjected to life's worst.
I don't know how to get this case presented to Cold Case Files as shown on television, but if any case deserves a new set of eyes, this one does. The investigators on the case back then had a few suspects, but nothing ever panned out. The last time I've ever seen anything in print, regarding Angie Housman's case, was back in the early 90s. Why has this child gone forgotten?
Sincerely,
Mary from St. Louis

Fishi114, that's the same little girl (Angie Housman) that was referenced in posts 12 and 13 above. I don't think I'll ever be able to accept how absolutely cold-blooded some people turn out to be. And how anyone could look into the innocent eyes of a child and do such horrific crimes is so beyond me that I am sometimes speechless.

I know this post above is VERY old but I came across it when searching "barbed wire" for 3 cold cases from the 1970's of boys in a small farming community if Indiana. No person ever charged. Need losts of help with leads.
Henryville Indiana unsolved cold cases, 3 BOYS MURDERED IN SAME SMALL RURAL TOWN within a couple miles of one another. Located adjacent to I-65 and Hwy 31 in Clark County.
All happend in the 1970's:
**Boy age 8, found April 1974 in a barn loft. Hands tied, sexually assaulted, strangled to death and covered up with rags.
**Boy age 15 or 16, found June 1977 in Clark State Forest in an area called Flat Rock off of Hwy 160. TRUE FACTS OF CONDITION OF THE BODY HAVE NOT BEEN CONFIRMED BUT FOLLOWING IS RUMORED; hands tied together over head with barbed wire and tied to a tree, sugical style incisions on body, dragged through woods, molested, beaten with skull fracture and strangled to death.
**Boy age 19 found Oct 1977, reported missing Sept 27 1977. Located in woods near Clark State Forest not far from his home. Hands were bound, beaten and platform shoes missing.
If you can think of any killers who would have been passing through this area during those years please post info. Thanks.
Here's a link to a very good blog about this, http://community.cnhi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/46410611/m/2881026251/p/1

That link didn't work, but the root site seems to be some kind of used bookstore in Australia.
I couldn't navigate to the page you referenced from the main site at all.

I went to school with Cheryl. Some class mates got together this winter and have been trying to find out more about this. We want the case re-opened.
