Chase in Homewood turns up skeletal remains

Friday, January 13, 2006

Narcotics detectives who chased two men through back yards and woods found skeletal remains in Homewood early yesterday morning.

The remains, found in the 1000 block of Moehler Street, have not been identified. It was also unknown whether the remains were those of a man or woman.

Police said detectives chased two suspects who ran from a vehicle around 12:40 a.m. They discovered the remains in a heavily wooded area about 50 yards from the road.

Homicide and missing persons squads were reviewing cases that may have had some Homewood connection. Investigators said that, so far, they can't tell how long the body was in the woods.

On Tuesday, the bones were identified as the remains of Anthony Armand Jackson, 36, of Homewood. The cause of death is still under investigation.Jackson was reported missing in June 2004, according to the Medical Examiner's Office.
I did a search and there are numerous sites for the missing Mr. Jackson! Unfortunately, in this case, it didn't help find him. Here is the Charley Project page which includes his photo and circumstances.

How sad for his family. I hope they figure out his cause of death soon.
