Investigators work to ID body
Investigators continued working today to discover the identify of a white female found in Village Creek.
Randy Christian, Jefferson County sheriff’s spokesman, said authorities will check missing persons reports in hopes of identifying the woman. The condition of the body prevented investigators from determining an age or how long the body might have been in the water.
Investigators are awaiting a report from the medical examiner’s office on a cause of death.
Men fishing a quarter mile off Minor Parkway found the body around 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

I wonder if this could be Sherry Milton. There is a thread about her here but I don't know how to copy it over to this thread.

Do we have a thread here on Sherry Milton? I don't recognize the name but I just joined here from the Laci Peterson case a few years ago. Now I seem to be following all of them and want to know more about this person.

I cannot find any new information on this unidentified person. In one online article, there was an alleged sighting of Tara Grinstead south of Birmingham, so I am very interested in following this thread. If anyone has any new information concerning this person or Sherry Milton's disappearance, please post. Thank you!

I just received an email, after inquiry, from one of the reporters with the Birmingham News. He advised that the body was a large black female, not white female as originally reported. No names or other details yet.

Sometimes, depending on the state of decomposition, it is hard to determine race initially. Weight can be way off too due to bloating.

The body of a woman found in Village Creek over the weekend is that of a black female, not white as authorities initially thought.
Investigators haven't been able to identify the woman, who they say is probably between 30 to 35 years old, about 5 feet, 6 inches tall, and wearing men's size 34 pants.
Sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Randy Christian said they are awaiting a final report on the cause of death.
