Police, family search for missing Lauderdale Lakes woman, 22

Posted March 3 2006

A Lauderdale Lakes woman vanished four weeks ago, and her family fears that she might be in danger, Broward Sheriff's officials said Thursday.

Marsha Bell, 22, left home to pick up her mother from work Jan. 29 and hasn't been seen or heard from since. She had nothing but the clothes on her back and $5 in the bank, said Detective Juanita Reid.

Bell hasn't used her cell phone, credit cards or bank card since that day, and no one has seen her white 1994 Toyota Corolla (Florida tag number P629YS), officials said.

"We don't know, at this point, whether she just hit the road and drove away, or whether she's gone into a canal, or what," said sheriff's spokesman Jim Leljedal.

Detectives entered Bell and her car into national missing person's databases but received no matches, Leljedal said.

Bell, a Jamaican woman, is 5 feet 7, 140 pounds.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 954-321-4240 or Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. -- Broward Sheriff Office detectives are asking the public for help in finding a young woman who disappeared four weeks ago.

Marsha Bell, 22, was last seen leaving the Lauderdale Lakes home she shared with her mother on the morning of Jan. 29. Bell was driving her 1994 Toyota Corolla. Since then, no one has heard from her and her credit cards have not been used.

Detectives have entered Bell's information into national databases as a missing person, along with her car, but there have been no hits on her or the vehicle.

Her family said that Bell was devoutly religious but she had stopped attending her church. Investigators said there are indications that she was depressed prior to her disappearance.

So sad that this is just coming out. Lot of wasted time...
Maybe we are just hearing about it. I hope so anyway.
