From the Boston Herald article posted by indigomood Imette suspect’s mom torpedoes his alibi (http://news.bostonherald.com/stGuillenMurder/view.bg?articleid=131862)
this is incorrect in the article:
"Among the new evidence unveiled today included statements from a witness who said he saw a blue Windstar minivan without plates — identical to the one recovered near Littlejohn’s home a week after the slaying — make a U-turn on Fountain Avenue in East New York at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 25 and speed away."
The blue van is a dark-blue Dodge Ram 250 and the silver or light gray van is a Ford Windstar. The way I heard the press conference, the witness was referring to the light gray or silver van which was found parked a few blocks from Littlejohn's home.

I noticed several reports saying blue for the van so the error must be in the AP wires. Does anybody know if the 4 counts of rape are for any of the other victims? I'm seeing reports from the indictment that they have dna of his from other sexual assaults and I know LE is trying to prove a history on him for sexual attacks for other victims. They may be able to tie the nosebleeds into his drug use and they do have proof of that already.

The article written by Michelle McPhee for The Boston Herald is the one I was referring to. It is not an AP article but it is possible other 'so called news reporters' got their info directly from her article. I believe she has been attending the actual events surrounding this case. And, she has been writing the best articles, imo.
In any case, I reviewed the first part of the press conference where Kelly refers to the witness and the Windstar. He did not mention a color associated with the Windstar.
He might have answered questions about it later in the conference, but it is impossible to hear any of the questions asked by reporters.
Incidentally, the same reference is made in a New York Times article.
"Mr. Hynes said a witness told investigators he saw a van matching the description of the one used by Mr. Littlejohn, a blue Windstar without license plates, making a U-turn about 7:30 p.m. at the place Ms. St. Guillen's body was found. He declined to characterize the witness beyond identifying him as male."
So, now, I will have to go back and review what Mr. Hynes said. Maybe he stated it wrong.
It's a small point, but I believe it is important to keep the facts straight.
Regarding the nosebleeds, more than anything, it seems speculation of how his blood might have gotten on the ties. Nosebleeds don't really need to be tied to drug use although that may be the reason he has them. They just need to establish his history of nosebleeds, seems to me.

Although his lawyer said he did not drive the van to work that night, the police believe that Mr. Littlejohn drove a gray Ford van that they found about three blocks from his house in the early days of the investigation. Inside the van, investigators found the same distinctive selection of fibers — carpet, mink and rabbit — that were found on tape wrapped around Ms. St. Guillen's head, and the comforter she was bundled in.
