News article:

http://www.kvbc.com/Global/story.asp?S=4979848&nav=15MV

Jose San Andres has been passing out flyers all day; his 13 year old daughter Jheni has been missing since Monday

"My daughter - around 5:30 or 6:00 - -called me on my cell phone to find out what time I was going to be home."

When he and his wife pulled up to their house Monday night, they found the garage door wide open and their rental car was gone.

"She left her money on the bed. She left her clothes - everything in the room. So, there's no sign of struggle."

--------------------------------------

To this dad's surprise, his teenage daughter is listed as a 53 year old woman on MySpace, but the story gets even more disturbing. Thirteen year old Jheni San Andres has posted provocative pictures on her page, and where her friends are listed are pictures, names and ages of grown men, some of them over 20 years old

"I don't want to think about the worst because it makes me sick to my stomach and I'm getting very upset. I know she made the wrong decision by taking the car, but it's okay. We can move on from there."

Such a beautiful child, her parents must be frantic!

I hope they throw the book at the perpetrator, the child is only 13 years old, due to graduate from junior high school.

How can they actually call it "running away" when she is so young? I hope this is over quick, that she's found alive and safe, PRONTO.

Very sad.
That was my thoughts after viewing her sight! What a completely misguided 13 year old!

I thought you had to be 14 to join MySpace?

When I was 14, I had a lot of adult male friends online. In fact, probably most of them were adult males. I never ran away from home, though, and was never even hit on by any of them. They were just that, my friends. Many of them are still my friends.

Well that is the beast of the Internet. One can state all kinds of rules and regulations but there is not any way to confirm age online.

Credit cards used by adult sites can be obtained by children and used by children.

Just like this forum and every other forum has a little check box when registering. All one has to do is be able to read, check which ever little box they want and yes eight year olds could be registered here or elsewhere and noone bothers to do a follow-up check of any kind.

If you look at the date of the article on the link, it was June 5, 2006, over two years ago that she made contact with a friend. Has there been anything else since then?:waitasec:
