Karr is going to be extradited to California on the child porn charges (MSNBC). Karr has no charges against him in Colorado, but a teletype from California says they will extradite him.

This info is from the Boulder County Sheriff Department press conference at approximately 4PM MDT.

No, no he wasn't just let go.

He was released from jail.

BUT, they took him to the justice center.

While at the Justice Center, after he was released from custody because of lack of evidence on JonBennet, California let the police in Boulder know they DID want him. So he was never really totally 'out of custody'.

Verbally he was, but the police never actually stopped being with him in the Justice Center.

That is confusing isn't it.

So 5 charges in Ca, maximum 1 yr for each offense, 6 mos already served - I wonder what a judge will do in his case. I hope they give him the maximum with no credit for time served and no time off for good behavior.

I mean I wish he could be sent to a farm somewhere up in Alaska. When you have a dangerous pedo like this, there are too many ways they can avoid their responsibilities to the court and slip outside control.

I wonder if Colorado and California had an agreement in regards to the Colorado case - if John Karr wasn't charged there, he would be transported back to CA as soon as possible for charges there. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that CA is planning on moving him within the next 12-24 hours.

They need to investigate this guy further. He may still be responsible for many crimes against kids all over the country. Competent detectives in California may be able to get the job done. The boulder pd did a flimsy investigation into Karr so far. They couldn't have done a comprehensive investigation in only a week. The boulder police department is lazy and incompetant and nobody should be confindent in the job they've done so far. Just look at their crazy actions so far. They dismiss his involvement too easily based on the family testimony of his wherebouts and dna. That is about all they've done. No handwriting analysis or anything else. They havn't investigated his wherebouts with a fine tooth comb. The brother continues to lie about knowing Ramsey. Did they check his brothers DNA? They should.
