It is a huge body of water on the Gulf of Mexico. It is a popular fishing area and I can't imagine that something wouldn't have turned up at some point with the amount of people in that area.:(

Stop playing this game, you've already confessed.
Theres a darkness inside you that evils transgressed.
Do you not have a soul, that shows some remorse?
Can you tell us the reasons your took this wrong course?
When you look in the mirror what do you see?
Are you a person of feelings, or just wish to go free?

You've taken our safety, hates entered our homes.
But your right where you must be, and never to roam.
We can beg for some answers , but will you ignor?
As you walk to your cell, and they lock-down your door.
Can your soul spare the answers? Tell her family her fate?
Have some pity, show mercy, before its too late.

We're learning the hard way to know some defense.
To carry a weapon, and use our sixth sense. To always go double,
to carry our phone, and never go jogging on streets all alone.

Did you have a family who once loved you too?
Then you understand why we need answers from you.
Be forthright and honest, rid your soul of pure hate.
Let a family go forward with their undying faith.

We can listen to truths, but never a lie......
Just give us some answers, and please tell us why?

Didn't this man (Moore) make a confession to police regarding Rachel? Can't that be held against him? I am clueless as you can tell. I just really hope the Cooke family gets answers soon. I have been following this case for years now and often check Rachel's site to see if any new information is posted. I would love to see this case resolved (for the family's sake) even though this wasn't the outcome I was hoping for.

It reads as if the dropping of the charges was a legal formality since Moore did not hold up his end of the bargain.

It sounds to me like now he renigged on the deal, maybe they might look at the death penalty now, but that's just MOO.:waitasec:

One would think the LE would have had to had some reason for disclosing the info re: him as there would not have been any reason to bring him up if they didn;t feel/know he had something to do with the case.

Anyway, JMO, Mr Cooke and family may God Bless You and bring Rachel home to you..

Take care

Today's Austin American-Statesman has a long front page article on Moore.

The violent past of an icy killer
Moore's record reveals remorseless brutality.
By Katie Humphrey, Chuck Lindell

Sunday, November 19, 2006

The day after Michael Keith Moore killed a pregnant woman in her Round Rock home, he wassitting across from a detective at the Georgetown police station, answering questions about his suspected involvement in an unrelated rape.

Moore wasn't summoned to the Georgetown station; he went on his own to confront the rape accusation, a notably brazen act for a man who had slit a handcuffed woman's throat only the day before.

Still, such boldness conforms to the profile of Moore that emerges in court documents, parole records and conversations with those who have dealt with the 31-year-old, whose trouble with the law began at age 13 and who has spent almost all of his adult life behind bars.

That past is one reason investigators take seriously Moore's recent confession that he raped and killed Rachel Cooke, a Georgetown woman missing since Jan. 10, 2002. It is also why Lampasas police are investigating Moore's possible connection to an attempted kidnapping 21 days before Cooke's disappearance.

The attempt was made about 10 p.m., when the young woman pulled up in front of her Lampasas home after work. A pickup stopped behind her, and the man got out and struck up a conversation, Lt. Investigator Jody Cummings said.

Moore sounds like the classic sociopath. Even his father says he has no remorse and belongs in prison.

He enjoyed reneging on the confession.

It really sounds like he had information that only the person who did this to Rachel would know. For that reason.....he would be the best person of interest.
But, somewhere I read that at one time he escaped by just walking through a door...at some courthouse. In that article it stated that "maybe" he wanted to escape again....and so confessed this......( only to take it back)
He likes to be evil and make for mass confusion......plus lie.
However to get answers from this type of character? I will keep praying for answers.
Faith and Hope for the Cookes......

Hello Mr. Cooke,

Wow, reading the article, he is a very, extremely "troubled" individual.. I know you indicated you and your family would be meeting with the prosecuter's on Oct. 21, I was wondering how that went? I know it is soon after and you may not wish to discuss it, I would certainly understand... Also, I have wanted to ask your opinion but not with the intention in any way of upsetting you, but as far as your own perspective do you feel he is the one responsible? Just wondering, if you prefer not to answer, I understand.

May God give you peace, Rachael is very fortunate to have a father such as yourself! I have no doubt God will someway Bless you and protect you given what you and your family has gone through.

I am glad you bumped this for the Cookes. We live in the same area, and I remember seeing flyers at our local HEB grocery store. I have a daughter who will be 19 in two weeks. She is the light of my life, and I love her dearly. I can only imagine what the Cookes and other families of missing or murdered loved ones go through.

I wonder what is happening with Michael Keith Moore concerning this case. I wonder if the DA is still planning on proceeding. Hopefully, Rachel will one day be found.

I have heard that the Cookes have done a lot of good for other victims and their families. It seems they have and are still going through so much anguish, and yet they choose to become part of the solution. May God Bless Rachel and her family.

Special people, the Cookes are, and people like that who are so giving to others in despair, well you just want them to have all the happiness they can. Selfless love is what I think of when Mr Cooke comes to mind, plus he never gives up no matter how tough it is.

I know the overall feeling about psychics on this board, and I generally agree, but I wonder if anyone ever tried to locate the house in this person's "vision"

There are literally hundreds of houses that fit that description in the Georgetown/Round Rock/Central Texas area alone. I don't know now many of them would have been vacant at that time, but it seems like it would be a pretty daunting task to find that particular house without more specific information because there are just so many old farmhouses that fit that exact description. I have no idea if anyone has tried, though.

Dear, beautiful Rachel disappeared from the are where I live. I am just about 15 minutes away from where she was last seen. This breaks my heart knowing what The Cookes have been through and continue to have to endure. I don't know if the slime, Michael Moore, is responsible or not, but he is at the very least responsible for victimizing the Cookes with his twisted confession and the recanting of it. And, now this piece of trash has more to say. His words sicken me. Rachel and her loving family are always in my heart and in my prayers, and I hope and pray that Rachel is found.

Apologies for sounding harsh, but is there a new "angle" you could use to get Rachel on the front page again?

Perhaps start working with a sympathetic local reporter to do a front page or a Sunday spread...reviewing the case and maybe even a timeline up until now. Maybe a "Rachel's been missing for 7 years, 7 months and 10 days" or something like that. Or even a story from the angle of how perps continually traumatize/victimize the families of their victims. Anything that might jar someone's memory! Keeping your family in my prayers.

I think of her smiling eyes, her cute colored hair and I wonder where she'd be right now, if she had not been taken from her family. I think of Robert and his lovely wife. I think of the joy they had the first time they held their beautiful baby girl, Rachel. I think of them watching her first steps and her first day of school. I wonder what kind of grandparents they would be for Rachel's children.

There are alot of things I hope for in my own life; even though I never knew Rachel, one of the things I hope for is that she is returned home and that her parents one day find peace.

Molly's remains were found a few years ago. I do have an update on John Bish's condition. As of March of this year he was doing a lot better. He's even done some public functions. BTW there is a picture on Rachel's message board of John Bish and me taken at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in 2003. (just before they found Molly)

BTW, the Sheriff's Office still receives leads every so often on Rachel's case, but there's nothing really promising I can report. However I do have some new pictures of missing persons' families I will add to the above link. We took several at this year's CUE Conference.

If you are refering to the North Texas DBA databases or the FBI CODIS system, yes Rachel is in both of those. She was among the first to be added to the North Texas DNA DB which directly feeds CODIS.

On January 10, 2009 Rachel will be added to the DOE Network. This is a long-term missing database.

I live in Dallas, and I never see anything about her case. It makes me so sad for her, and for her family. I hope the news media will do a series on the Missing soon. The DMNews usually does about once a year. I think they did a story on Melissa Highsmith not too long ago.. She was from Fort Worth and disappeared from a babysitter's many years ago, in the 70's I think. Beautiful child.

My prayers that Rachel will be found, and prayers for her family as well.

Ummm.....I realize this is not the place, but ah...am I seeing things, LR, is that YOU?! :blowkiss:

Molly's remains were found a few years ago. I do have an update on John Bish's condition. As of March of this year he was doing a lot better. He's even done some public functions. BTW there is a picture on Rachel's message board of John Bish and me taken at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in 2003. (just before they found Molly)

http://www.websitetoolbox.com/tool/post/rcooke/vpost?id=54987&trail=15

BTW, the Sheriff's Office still receives leads every so often on Rachel's case, but there's nothing really promising I can report. However I do have some new pictures of missing persons' families I will add to the above link. We took several at this year's CUE Conference.

So glad to hear that John Bish is doing much better.

Blessings and prayers for both the Bish and Cooke families. :blowkiss:

Making Central Texas safer for children

Realizing your child is missing can be a parent's worst nightmare.

An estimated 800,000 children are reported missing every year in the United States
and in 2006 more than 60,000 were reported missing in Texas alone and Texas law
enforcement is taking a step forward to keep kids safe.

It's been almost seven years since Rachel Cooke of Georgetown went missing during
an afternoon run.

Wow! I wonder if they are looking at him for Rachel's disappearance as well.

I continue to pray that she will be brought home to her family and that the perp is brought to justice.

Rachel's new billboard is up in Austin. It's on the northbound side of I-35 just north of the Grand ave exit. (mile marker 238 I think)

The billboard design: http://lois2.lamargraphics.com/viewableart/189892001B.JPG

The January edition of AUSTIN MONTHLY has a long article on the missing including Rachel and Roxanne Paltauf. It's contains a lot of pictures and information.

Today they announced they found the remains of Brooke Wilberger, who was from the area in which I live. Listening to her mother and to the DA relate the story of their case, I was brought to tears. I am happy for the Wilberger family and that they finally can bring their daughter home.

At the same time, I thought of Rachel Cooke, along with Jennifer and Adrianna Wix and their families. I continue to pray that these families can also find out where their girls are, no matter what the outcome.

Thanks Litlstar. I hope we can get someone like Willie Nelson for the next Music for the Missing Concert in the fall of 2004. You have to organize far in advance to get someone famous.

Mr. Cooke my heart goes out to You and your Family I am hoping that there will be an answer in your case soon. We have 2 missing young ladies in Florida
One case is similar to your daughters and the other they have a person of interest in the Orange County jail. We must all become aware of whats goes on around us . And I believe you are correct it was some one who knew your daughter or of her perhaps a friend of a friend. Possibably some one she would not been afraid to talk to. God bless youand all that have been helping in the search.

Rachels disappearance has always been one that has haunted me. Mr. Cooke, I know you have heard it before...but I am so sorry this has happened to your family, and to other families across the country. IMO, it is one of the most awful crimes. Not knowing! How one just disappears, I have said before, I just DON'T get.
Hoping 2010 will be one filled with answers for you.
+ God Bless
