View Full Version : What do we know about Jason Young?

Aside from being at ChartOne 3 mos ... his beautiful, young, healthy, pregnant wife, Michelle-Marie and mother of their 2 and half yr old dau, Cassidy, was found brutally murdered in their home, within hours of his leaving for a business trip.
He learned of his wife's murder circa (no official time has been released) 2 - 3 pm, Friday 3rd November. He only returned to Raleigh sometime the next day, with his mother, step-father, brother and SIL (or sister and BIL - someone please correct me, lol).
Earlier on Friday 3rd Nov, out of the blue - JY had called his SIL, Meredith to go collect a fax as he did not want Michelle to see this. It later emerged bu "insiders" the fax was actually a print-out and it was for a surprise gift for Michelle. Meredith arrived to find her sister's body and Cassidy unharmed - and she called 911 at 1:30
Immediately upon his return, JY was (and has since been) THE ONLY person to be issued with a court order for probable cause to impound his vehicle, as well as to order him to submit to tests.
NO-ONE else was issued a court order: everyone complied immediately.
On arrival, his step-father, Gerald McIntyre stated Jason was lawyering up and not talking to LE as, in GMc's words he "doesn't trust" LE.
Until a recent release, the Sheriff confirmed LE had spoken "only briefly" with JY - who returned to Brevard to stay with his parents.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
We know very little about this man...
Where did JY work previously? What is his work history like? Is he sporty? How old is he? Was their marriage going through a difficult time? Is there reason to believe he had a g//f from Florida? How were his finances? Where is his real father? Why is there this growing distance between Fishers and J Young? Why did he not travel back immediately he heard the news? Did both sets parents get on before the murder? Why didn't he opt for a poly?
Is he truthful - or is he lying?
I found this on the 'Net:
Louis N. Eliopolis, Death Investigator's Handbook:
Truthful vs. Deceptive Behavior
Truthful
Nervous at first ; calms down as interview progresses
Anger; specific
Composed attitude; self assured
Wants you to know he's innocent
Cooperates with investigation
appears without an attorney
Willing to prove innocence
Answers questions directly
Willing to take lie detector test
Open; Will volunteer info
Unyielding & adamant in denials
Willl sit forward in the chair & ask what you want to know
Deceptive
Nervous at first; calms down as interview progresses
Angry; nonspecific; won't calm down
Overly anxious; seems confused
Overly polite
Defensive
Will be quiet; afraid he will say something to get him in trouble
Evasive in answers
Non commital in response
Complains; uncooperative
Guarded about what they tell you
Have to give a reason why they don't cooperate
Defeated; slumps head forward
While statement analysis is only part of any investigation, it's an important part - providing clues to investigators as to what the subject is really thinking.
Don Rabon, of the North Carolina Justice Academy in Durham, NC, and author of Investigative Discourse Analysis states:
" These files are analogous to a crime scene. To the uninitiated, the crime scene might look just like an ordinary room. To the trained eye, however, there can be evidence for follow-up everywhere."

I can't remember what article I read that stated that JY bought a home with another guy before he got married. How long before?
MY was pregnant before they got married and moved in with JY right before getting married. I think this is odd. They dated for like 5yrs. before. Where did she live?
I don't think he wanted to get married. I think MY put the pressure on him when she became pregnant, maybe family also.
I wonder what the guy was like that bought the home with him. Was he gay or straight?
Your right PSA, we don't know very much about JY.

Hey packerdog - no we don;t know much ...
raisin charlie posted this - so we have a birth date here, lol:
JY was born 4/8/74 for information.

Hi packerdog. Sami found the guys details (thanks Samiya!) R Schaad ----> and then seems JY/MY bought him out (not sure exact title deeds...).
And yep: seems we know diddly-dang-squat about JY.
Flash-back: I saw a post yonks back; somebody being at State Grad with him (not sure of where/what that means, either, lol).
In last 4 months he was at ChartOne 3 mos and then for the last month he's gone into hiding, not cooperated, zeebo, zilch ... has he retained his position at ChartOne? 4 weeks compassionate leave is a wee bit long, eh?
Interesting to watch this space.... which is like watching paint dry right now, heheeehee! Anyone have any ideas?

An intrepid sleuth over at ctv is reporting that
JY has a lead foot. Many traffic citations for
speeding. Interesting, if speed was of the
essence in the possible murder of his wife.

hmmm. That is interesting. I could read more into that if I wanted to.... hehe! A bit of an agressor.... maybe some road rage too? Not quite the Gentle Ben image that some of his friends have been trying to get across. Any guy that I've ever known with a lead foot has usually had some mental problems. They seem to thrive on the power aspect of it all.
You're right Packerdog! Too bad.

Its not the power - its the speed - not too many highs as good as a really fast car hummin along. So jilly, what kind of mental problems - help me out here, I'm a speed freak. :D

Anyways, a really fast car is only that though because of the power isn't it? I mean you can speed with a 4 cylinder but it isn't going to give you that rush - or does it?

Jilly - you just crack me up ;)
To me 100 mph is 100 mph regardless of how many cylinders there are but you are right - the power determines how quickly one gets to 100 mph. And if something doesn't happen soon in this case I will no doubt be  .

I've never followed a case that doesn't have something to talk about before an arrest, so this is very frustrating.

That is a 1999 Ferrari F355 - developing 380 bhp at 8250 rpm and 268 lbs-ft at 6000 rpm. Zero to 60 in 4.9 seconds with a top speed of 183 mph. Mid engine v-8. That is a car !
This is frustrating but after hearing about the lab backup, I suspect it may be a bit. If they are focusing on JY and are pretty sure - they are going to wait until they have as tight of a case as they can get before they move on it.
The bad part about this is that the labs are so backed up - this is true most everywhere not just NC - that is incredibly discouraging. Way too much crime going on everywhere - depressing. Oh well, one thing about it - if JY did it - he isn't going to have a good time anytime soon - he's sweating bullets waiting for those police cars to roll in to get him.
Truth be known - I'm already there  as well.

Hi jilly, close, charlie.
I just went over to CTV's thread and there's been quite a few intersting posts about JY's 'paid up' cars, taxes due - and his year-to-resolve 'speeding ticket' issue.
Also discovered from a new poster JY appears to still be in Brevard nd that poster is not sure if JY is working 'virtually' or not.
If not - are we wrong to assume there might be issues with his new job? I mean HELLO!!! So MagnumPI a.k.a. Smith may have said NO talking to MY's family, LE, Media, Neighbours .... but it's a bit of a stretch to not be talking to work colleagues - so I highly doubt we can blame his criminal defense attornies for keeping him away from his office.
It's been FIVE weeks since JY left on his supposed business trip. Maybe it's quite normal...

I would think the new job is yesterday's toast. JY is not going to slither out of Brevard until his lawyer says its okay and IMO that isn't going to be anytime soon - unless the paddy wagon gets him first. JMO.

I know JY would be sitting pretty still at 85 mph - no speeding tickets there except for at night - there are limits on most sections during the night time hours but even those are pretty good. One can't go wrong with a Triumph! Dandy cars to get on with. I ship my F355 over for my visit so it can run, do a lot of rally events on weekends- warp speed would be correct!
Anyhow - we know JY likes to move on with those tickets 20 and 30 miles over the limits. I can't fugure why everyone is spinning such a mystery about why he fought that one ticket for a year - seems to me that as a salesman it would be rather important to have a license - thus fight the ticket like heck. Doesn't seem to be a big mystery to me- kinda like duh !!!

If JY is their POI (high probability as that fancy lawyer wasn't hired to get his SUV back as it still sits in the impound lot) I would wager there is some form of surveilance perhaps through or with Transylvania Co Sheriff.
The wire tap, again I believe LE would have little trouble getting one for a cell phone belonging to JY but I'm not sure it would be so easy to get one for the landline at his folks or on their cells. And of course if there is a tap - they aren't suppose to listen or tape calls with the lawyer. If JY has reestablished cell service I would say there is a high probability. JMO

Hey, BeeCh... I know you weren't askin me - but YESSIREE, I surely do think LE have their hawk-eyes on JY (and clan - friends. colleagues).
I'm *really* intrigued about his work situation. It's 5 weeks tonight since he left Michelle for the "business trip" (which I think may have been a cold call...) and he's still with family in Brevard?
Unless he'd gone back to work and that one slipped me by...
Standard sick leave and holiday varies country to country, state to state, county to county ... here we get 30 working days leave per annum - which is essentially 6 weeks; and generally up to 12 working days sick leave per annum (first 2 days are ok, on 3rd day of sick leave a Dr's note is required).
The original reason sick leave is that long is due to the strict Islamic laws that allow a woman to stay off work on the first day of her period. Also, over here, if you have served with a company for 2 years or longer, on top of any accumulated leave (not sick leave, obviously) you're entitled to gratuities - which means one full week's full tax-free wage (7 days) per annum worked. So - if you've been with a company 10 years, you receive 6 weeks full pay.
I've worked in US ('96) and if I recall the general annual leave was circa 14 days (can't remember if that's 10 or 14 working days - help); in UK and Africa 21 working days or just on a month's annual leave; sometimes it varied depending on the company.
However - despite the generous or tight leave periods above - 5 weeks compassionate leave? Unusual - cicumstance specific, really.
Interesting ...

The Family and Medical Leave Act here allows for certain time periods off with no loss of job provided the employee is eligible (usually 12 months on the job). I would think room could be made for this situation - however having worked for ChartOne for only 3 months I doubt he is eligible, he would barely just be eligible for the medical insurance (usually after 90 days employment)
Browse through this - its just the basics but I don't see why ChartOne would be required to hold his position for him. JMO

charlie - wow. You just never cease to amaze me: you really have to be one of theeee MOST amazing posters/sleuthers on the 'Net! You answer everyone's posts; you research you heart out and bring back fact, info, reference: well, like scandi - you are both soooo generous with your response, time and effort! Not to mention your crafty senses of humour.
After being here and also reading the entire length and breadth of the heartbreaking James Kim thread - you and scandi have to be voted:
 Mr Sleuther for 2006
 Mrs Sleuther for 2006
(Lol, not as a couple, tee hee ...)
Thanks for the info!

:blushing: :blushing: I think you are biased Annie because I give you such a hard time of it! I will agree with your choice of Scandi but I'm just an average joe who doesn't take compliments well - thanks for the vote and the confidence. Everyone deserves an answer IMO.

Hi J2, yes I think that was the gist of the posts. I
think speed played a part of that night too.
BTW, I have been having a devil of a time getting WS
pages to load. Anybody else having problems? It
is so frustrating that many days I just give up and don't
post.
Also, I would not say this over at CTV, but does anyone
else remember so many so called "friends" of the family
popping out of the woodwork, so early on in a case? I
sure don't. I am very suspicious that we have one or two
using multiple identities to sway public opinion. I could be
wrong, but who knows?
Go to your USER CP at the top of the page and block viewing people's signatures. Mine was loading slow, too, because so many people have large holiday wishes in their signatures. I think you can change how many posts to a page, too.

Nopey-NO ! :snooty:
Stand by my thoughts: That's *not* to lessen the wonderful ideas and input of others - because I tell you what - it's been years but we've all learned SO much from many on these USA crime forums: For me: you and scands (oh -yes - there's another: Buzzm1 ...lol ) come back with the beef and Sami's not far behindya'all. Can't tell you the "cold" life-saving tips I learnt off James Kim's thread! I was in tears!
Early 2000's ... Who was I back then? A bare-footed snippy gal from Africa, relatively new to the Middle East, still fuming from OJ's "escape" and very upset about Westerfield.
First time I interacted (real one-on-one style, that is) with fran was in Hargon family massacre and first time with scandi was in C Crier's "Riddle - that once in prosecutorial hands will seal Scott Peterson's fate forever". I was as addicted to that thread as I am to this one. Time moves on, but many poster's nics are lodged in my head: I do miss thoughtfox and Newswolf, too (where are they???)
I've never had an exchange with Buzz - there was no need - right through Laci, I read and learned so much from his posts, too!
Anyways ... better shadduppa your face, Polk... Move on:

I saw on CTV that JY has a younger sister Heather and sister that's way older than him, Kim - and there appear to been lots of nieces, nephews, cousins too. How did they all get along?
Anyone know anymore about JY's family and background???

JY was a Resident Adviser at University Towers during his time at NC State. Very well liked and well thought of by most everyone that came into contact with him at State.

Bee ... I increased no of posts earlier this year - found it easier to scroll, reply & catch up ... especially when threads grow ....
Works a doddle. Suggested it to Shadow - not sure how it turned out for Shadow, tho...

Darn! WHERE did JY work before ChartOne??? Any clues? Ask the audience? 50/50? Call a friend?? Why is this guy so well hidden?

WE NOW KNOW HE DID HAVE A G/F
And .... by all accounts has been cheating on MY for a long time. I bet there are others.
And there will be the financial motive, the freedom to pursue his love interests, the cowardice in opting for alimony and child-support and the sleazy habits. Poor Meredith!
What a piece of cr@p. Scumbucket!!!
There will be more coming out about this .... thing. Ugh!
All my unchanging opinion, of course.

I really don't know much about this man except that he looks guilty as heck. I also think that he called his sister-in-law and asked her to go over and check on a fax because he knew the baby was in the house with her dead mother and he wanted the baby to be found and taken care of.
