Just wanted it to be well known that with Joseph Edward Duncan's confessions today to the murders of Anthony Michael Martinez of CA; and half-sisters, SammieJo White and Carmen Cubias of WA, he officially meets the criteria for "SERIAL KILLER" along with the likes of Ted Bundy and (too) many other sickos!

His murder total now is 6, including Brenda Groene, Mark McKenzie and Brenda's son, Slade Groene. JED has not yet been convicted of (or confessed to) the murder of Brenda's younges son, Dylan Groene.

I am expecting a confession in Dylan's murder, too; since JED has confessed to SammieJo's, Carmen's and Anthony's, Brenda's, Slade's and Mark's.

Also because it seemed to me that JED was trying to confess in the Kidnapping of Shasta and Dylan and the murder of Dylan when he was formally charged in those crimes last Thursday, at the Federal Court in Boise.

He is a beast no question. But, there are others it is just that the vics are not as well received.

No doubt, cp.

It makes me wonder IF that is why he was willing to confess --- that these additional crimes he is admitting to, allows him into the (sarcasm on -->) pretigious 'serial killer' league? (<--sarcasm off)

IF that is the reason why he confessed, I am sorry I created this thread! I surely don't want to aid in making him out to be some highly esteemed killer. He's got less value than pond scum as far as I'm concerned!

It sure makes me wonder, because without these other cases, I doubt he would be considered a 'serial killer'. hmmmmm...

Didn't he brag on his blog about being really well known one day?

His confessions to the other murders do indeed make Duncan a serial killer by the official definition of the term, and gives one plenty of reason to wonder how many other victims are out their that might have been committed by him but will never come to light. I have been writing true crime for over 25 years, and Duncan is certain among the sickest, if not the sickest, serial killer I have ever had occasion to study. Additional victims of his are most certainly out there.

Hi Liz,

Thank you for the warm welcome! I've been researching and writing true crime for what seems like eternity, and I'm surprised that I had not found my way here sooner! Looks like a cool place.

Without the other killings, he is just a spree killer trying to gain notoriety for himself. Many confess to more murders than they are charged for, yet refuse to give details on the others. It keeps the attention focused on them.

Agreed, but since a partial thumbprint positively matched to JED was found on the duct tape used to bind Anthony Martinez in 1997, I don't think that's the case.
