I have no words.
Those 13 y.o. boys have some serious problems. As for the little ones....oh, my. I hope they receive the help they will need also. As for the grandma saying she didn't know whether or not they wanted the authorities involved, huh? Is it possible to make a choice about such things?

This is horrible. Children are sexually attacking little tiny children. A psychologist stated this below.
"A psychologist from the Child Guidance Center in Lincoln said that about 20 percent of children at the center have had inappropriate sexual behavior. The experts attributed it to a number of sources, including more awareness and reporting of the problem, pornography on the Internet and children who abuse that are themselves victims of sexual abuse.
"They lose the capacity to recognize appropriate behaviors," said the center's Nancy Mize"
I feel so sad and, I hurt for these little children. They are so young. I hope and pray for those dear little ones that they get the help, love, and support they need.
The two 13 year olds have deep, serious problems. Be it sexual abuse or another type of abuse or something else, it is clear that something is very wrong within them to have become sexual perpetrators. I hope and pray for them that they may be helped, too.
However, I think that in order for them to change and be able to have healthy minds, they must develop the capacity to have empathy for others and to demonstrate true remorse for what they have done. I hope this is possible.

This is deeply troubling. I would bet my last penny that the two 13-year-olds are sexual abuse victims themselves. My prayers that all of these children can get help and stop this chain of pain.

I think your gut response is to help your child without having the law involved because jail time isn't really helpful and you only want what is best for the kids regardless of how freaked out you are by their behavior.
I can see doing everything in my power to get my daughter help for illegal drugs, underage drinking of alcohol, sex with a 17 year old or any number of things without involving the police. I think if she molested another child of mine, my first response wouldn't be to want her arrested... just to want her and the other child to get help.
The police aren't always the answer. Anyway, not saying it's the right choice, but I can see how a parent would try to choose it, at least at first.

Did I read right that the boys are already on probation? Where were the adults when this was taking place? Didn't anyone check on them while they were playing? I would not leave 5 and 3 yr olds alone to play. I cannot believe the grandmother ha to even think about calling the police. Grandchild or not, he is a sexual predator and needs help.

If these 2 boys are already doing things like this at 13, I can't even begin to imagine what they will do when they are older. :furious:
Prayers for the victims and the families. How awful! :(

That was my first reaction as I read this. Where were the adults?

Has there been anything else on this? Will the boys be charges as youthful offenders?

Lincoln, Nebraska (AHN) - Lincoln police have charged two 13-year-old boys of recording their sexual assault and contact on two 5-year-old girls and a 3-year-old boy. Court records say the video was found by the brother of one of the alleged perpetrators

From the original article:
When first contacted by police, the grandmother of one 13-year-old boys said the family had not decided if they wanted to involve law enforcement. According to the report, she said she "just wanted to get her grandson help for what he did."
This shows disregard to the victims, in my opinion. What about them getting justice or help? No, it's all about the perpetrator. This makes me sick. I don't care if it is your grandson, he committed a heinous crime and there should be no question about involving the police.
