A Queens sock vendor pleaded guilty yesterday to molesting and impregnating his girlfriend's 8-year-old daughter and faces 20 years in prison, prosecutors said.

Chancellor Drayton, 44, of 4-21 27th Ave. in Astoria, was charged with first-degree rape, police said, after the girl's grandmother found a "Dear Dad" love letter in which the child wrote that she enjoyed having sex with him and added, "I want to marry you."

The girl's mother, a Fort Greene resident, contacted police, and tests showed that her daughter was 15 weeks pregnant. At the mother's request, an abortion was performed and police arrested Drayton two weeks later.

Prosecutors contended that he had sex with the girl at least four times between Dec. 2001 and Oct. 30, 2002 - usually while the mother, a student at Baruch College, was running errands.

Oh, Cass.....What in the world.....?

Why do I think that this case is worse than others? Perhaps because this foul man also poisoned the child's mind.

A sick, sick SOB

EIGHT YEARS OLD!!

Talk about early puberty! A woman can't even become pregnant until she has ovulated. I thought puberty this early was limited to backwoods tribes in third world countries. I started my cycle just after turning ten and that was considered extremely early by the doctors.

I hope to God she was eight years old on these dates and not presently eight! That would make her even younger! A woman who was a neighbor of ours years ago had a granddaughter that started puberty at seven years. The doctors intervened to slow the process because they said it was abnormal and usually a sign there was a tumor on the pituitary gland. We moved shortly afterwards so I don't know how the story turned out.

This child will never be right again. No amount of counseling short of wiping out her entire memory could fix this. More young girls become promiscuous (and even runaways and prostitutes) due to childhood sexual abuse than any other factor.

My daughter had her 1st period in the 3rd grade. I was absolutely freaked out. I looked into to it and found that some people are more affected by hormones of many different types. One huge connection to early puberty in girls ix the use of soy formula and other soy products. It certainly does not affect everybody, but for some people it does. Very strange???!!??

I can say that it DOES happen, I was 8 1/2 when I started. Back then it was nearly unheard of because my pediatrician had my mom take me to a specialist. Nothin wrong.

This kind of story makes me sick. I can't even really accept in my mind that men do this to children.

I was 12.5 and it wasn't fun, still isn't, LOL.

I was 9 1/2 and the funny thing was that my sister (who is 4 years older than me) also started her period at the same time.

She was so mad at me... saying I was 'copying' Like I have any control over that??? we joke about it now.

My daughter just turned 10 in December... I am so hoping she does not start any time soon :( I just want her to be a little girl with no worries like that right now.

Just my two cents: I started at 8 too. I have hated every minute of it. I"m hoping that menopause comes correspondingly early for me.

YIKES!!

Menopause is no picnic as I hear it. I'm not there yet, but it doesn't sound like something I'm looking forward to. I had my uterus removed for medical reasons at age 35 but my ovaries were left intact so I will have the same menopausal symptoms others have when the time comes. As it is I have anxiety and the blues once a month and sometimes even some swelling and leg cramps. But I get to forego the messy part... and I don't miss it one bit.

YIKES is right! I just went to the gyn last week because I am becoming extremely irregular. He told me I was in a "perimenopausal" state. Apparently this is the very beginning of menopause. I asked him how long I could expect to be in this phase and he told me I could be another TEN years before I am completely through it! :slap: :banghead:
