and checking the forum umpteen times.....

what is everyone doing?

Laundry is going and I am listening to the Wiggles...... on Cd with my little guy. Right now the Pennsylvania Polka is playing. Going to visit some friends later tonight for a bbq and bon fire.... and we are playing hide and seek. I'm sure 100 is up now, so I need to go find him.

Even when I am occupied, this is always on my mind.....

I just put my 2-year old daughter down to bed. She's sick with a bad cold :( My husband is out of town as usual, working on our lake house with my father. I just cleaned the house like a madwoman and have my daughter's cloth diapers drying in the dryer. I LOVE having a clean house and clean laundry!

I think about Anna and her family all day long, everyday! I am hoping and praying we get good news soon!

I'm sewing a dress to wear to three concerts I have to play in...instead of practicing the 140 pages of music I need to play! I know practice makes perfect, but I've always hated to practice. How did I ever wind up being a piano player? So far, all our DOJ, LE and .gov contacts seem to be away from their various offices. Aargh.

I am just wrapping up the first half of my workday. This evening I will be doing one of my shows, bringing a little ray of sunshine into the otherwise dreary existence of my fans. :liar:

The sad thing is, today is my four year anniversary with my wife, but I have to spend all day working. Tomorrow, we are going out for a nice dinner (after I fix our leaking toilet). The life of an amatuer crime-fighter is never dull.

ahhh, we just got back from looking at yet another crappy house that is for sale. So frustrating! House buying would be so much easier if I had a coupon for $100,000 off, lol. But, the kids are playing nicely so I can goof off for now!

At least you don't live in Southern California where the average home costs $400K. I may never be able to afford a house here. But I wouldn't trade the weather for anything :)

I'm getting ready to go visit family in the Midwest. Haven't been back there in a while, plus my mom hasn't been doing well, so I'm looking forward to going back.

We could never afford 400K either!!! Our lease is up in July, and we are so tired of paying rent. Thanks to Katrina people have become very greedy and charge pretty much whatever they want for rent. I found out from a neighbor that before the storm the landlord charged $1000 for rent on this house, and he's charging us $1400. :furious: I would blame it on the flood, wind, and hail insurance hike- but we aren't even in the high-risk flood area! I really think we can buy for cheaper, including insurance and stuff.

We're down south with my son (Anna's cousin) for a long weekend, always checking the forum first thing if we're out more than two hours and hoping that the recent events -- personal visit from the lead investigator, involvement of politicians, sudden unavailability of everyone involved -- are good things.

Looking forward to a weekend with a hubby I haven't seen in two weeks, and the beautiful forest here is always nice on a sunny weekend. Gardening gardening gardening! The house prices in my northern CA county are at a median of $450,000...and I live in the woods! Like other SF bay area people, we have driven up prices beyond belief, I am lucky, I live on family property, no rent, no payments...trying to buy one myself!

Still holding my breath here, and wishing Annasmom, and C many blessings! Good to hear all of you have a 'normal' life when not addicted to WS like myself!

I recently went back to work after taking a year off. We closed our antique store, just sold the property and are now house-hunting as well. We're in WV and we certainly don't have housing prices like some of you, but we are in a higher area for real estate than most of our immediate area. Summersville has a beautiful 2700 acre lake and the area attracts alot of people for second homes and retirees (these are the markets that jack up prices). Christine, I'm kinda like you, we need to upgrade, but I don't wanna move either!!

I'm finally getting adjusted back to a 45 hour work week plus travel time - I feel like I've been robbed of all my leisure time. However, I still stop by here every evening to check on Anna and all my favorite cases.

LOL, think this sums it up?

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jump to: navigation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thumb_twiddling#column-one), search (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thumb_twiddling#searchInput)
Thumb twiddling is an activity that is done with the hands of an individual whereby the fingers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Finger) are interlocked and the thumbs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thumb) circle around a common focal point, usually in the middle of the distance between the two thumbs.
While it is an expression of at least a moderate amount of manual dexterity, thumb twiddling is frequently used as an example of a useless, time-wasting activity. It is equated with other activities that are also considered useless by the speaker. Therefore it is most often used as a synonym for an activity that will take the attention of the performer, but will not yield any useful results.
Thumb twiddling can be seen as an expression of which hand is dominant (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laterality) within the individual. The weaker handed thumb will "follow" the dominant handed thumb in the activity.

Devote some time to the other cases that I am involved in here at WS's. I have also been trying to update the myspace pages that I maintain for those cases. I currently am trying to keep up with 9 myspace profiles, that alone keeps me busy.
I still manage to spend time with the family though and am enjoying my 2 grandbabies.

Ick! Armadillo droppings candy! Every once in awhile we see alligators on the side of the road here in FL. When we first moved down here from Washington DC, my husband (being from New Hampshire) couldnt get over the fact he had to stop for an alligator to let it cross the road! Unfortunately, it is a common thing around here.
One of the strangest thing I've ever seen from the side of the road was a wild Monkey climbing a tree! At first I thought I was hallucinating! Then someone told me that many many years ago they were filming the movie "Tarzan" (I believe) and the monkeys escaped, then multiplied and I guess are still around out in the wild!

Gee, nothing more exciting than playing with a wonderful big band honoring such as Horace Heidt, Gordon Goodwin, Martha Tilton, Henry Mancini and others. Not common names? Google them. The Big Band Academy of America honors heroes of the big band era (which continues today, btw, unknown to many). Go Google and check it out, or email miltbernhart@email.com, if you like big band music (or not, if you want to see what's going on).

The Silver River's monkeys arrived in the late 1930s. S. Colonel Tooey, who operated the Jungle Cruise boat ride at the time, released monkeys from Southeast Asia on an island in the river to entice tourists to the area, according to a report in the Ocala Star-Banner. The monkeys swam the river and formed wild troops in the swamp forest.

http://www.ajc.com/travel/content/travel/southeast/fl_stories/0201silver.html
http://www.silversprings.com/heritage.html

The Tarzan movies were filmed in this area too, according to these links. But the monkeys were released by Colonel Tooey. It happened during the same rough time frame though, which would explain the Tarzan stories :D

I sit here and think about the first e-mail I received from Robin on Myspace and wanted to share with you. Of coarse, it had to be "edited".

"I just want to let you know that my room mate and I looked at the age progression picture of Anna and both of us said "C" at the same time. I do not know if this is anything, but we are taking this picture in to show "C" at work, because it looks just like her. I will let you know if it turns out to be anything. The age progression picture looks like her, but I don't see her in the younger pictures. Also, the woman that we know is 40, a waitress with "?" children, a really nice person, but she has dark hair, like a very dark brown. I will let you know what "C" says after dinner with her tomorrow. I believe it is primarily the smile that made us both think of "C".

Will write soon, and thinking of you,
Robin

This forum has a life all of its own. In someways for me Anna has allready been found. I found her in the words of Annasmom, in the love for her that is so evident from her brother, uncle , stepfather, kindergarden teacher and friends who have visited this forum. Anna's soul is alive in well in those lives who's time she spent with was much to brief. I hope if C is Anna, she is able to alow the wounds of the past not to bleed into the blessings of today. Instead I pray she is able to use the strentgh of those blessings to alow those wounds to heal so she can move forward with all the love of those people who have honered, loved and cherished her soul all these many years. I think Anna's mom for alowing us to get to know Anna and if it turns out C is not Anna I hope it gives Annas family some comfort in knowing that Anna is touching the lives of many of us 30+ years after she dissapeared. I believe websleuths found a part of Anna a long time ago.

WOW. Mjak, you know how to put it all into words. Thank you for saying what I know so many feel but just don't know how to type it out.

Anna has touched many lives, even outside of this board and Myspace. My mom always has Anna in her prayers, and after I sent out the Christmas cards with Anna's picture in them, one of the recipients wrote me back that they were praying for Anna.

As I sit here typing, I have "Here Comes the Sun" running through my head. I think there's a bit of Anna in all of us :)

I seem to go to bed at night, and I have Anna often as my last thought, and again I awake and at 5am, Anna, Annasmom, the whole entire scope of this continues to move me very deeply.
My husband and I are in a search as well at this time, and the next step is to do DNA, but the results may or may not have someone to compare to, and even if they do, the person we are looking for, is most likely severely mentally impaired. Talking with all of you, and seeing Annasmoms amazing dignity and tact in this situation, is such a blessing to me at this time. I know this process can be done with dignity for all involved, and it gives me great hope that in the near future we may be able to do the same with DNA.
Either way the results, there is a world full of people, with good hearts, that are pushing that universal energy of hope and love for this whole family and all their friends, we support you all, 100%, and thank you ALL, for putting yourselves out there publicly, as you are more of an inspiration than you may ever know!
Blessings

Being a natural born pessimist, I have refrained from posting much over the last week. Nobody likes a downer...LOL Seriously though, please remember there is a 50% chance that "C" is not the same person as Anna. The odds are about the same as flipping a coin. Getting to high of hopes often leads to debilitating depression after a let down. I pray that "C" is Anna as are the rest of you, but my pessimist gut says no. It's highly unlikely they are one in the same. I'll gladly eat my hat if I am wrong.

Your post sounds an awful lot like the pragmatic side of my personality. It has taken a lot for me to override my natural tendency to remain in control of my emotions, but you are correct that the possibility remains that C is not Anna. I believe that she is Anna, but I could be wrong.

Will write soon, and thinking of you,
Robin

I remember when you first emailed me about Robin and C on MySpace. It was exactly 6 months ago today.

LOL! I could use a glass of cold beer myself... unfortunately, I'm stuck at my desk at work...

Honestly, I don't think they'd have it on the news right away... I think, if true, they let the families absorb the info first before releasing to the media.

And TY for the Happy anniversary wish! I can't believe I've been here over a year!

While we are waiting, I would like to give some standing ovations-

To Annasmom, the brothers and the uncles and other family members for always keeping the faith and never giving up.

To Joe Ford, for his part in the search and also for never giving up.

To Dr. D., for taking on an impossible task, for leading the forum so ably and for so much more.

For Robin, who saw a picture and offered to help

For 'C' who heard the story, decided that it was a possibility, answered the questions and has decided to take the chance that it might be true

And to the others who did so much research here. I don't remember all the names and I am not going to list them because I know if I try I will leave someone out!

For the detectives who listened and took faith in what they heard and saw about the case and moved it from a cold case, to an active case.

And also for the people who patiently answered questions, provided information and helped to rule in or rule out each lead.

I don't know if we will get an answer this week. But I do trust that we will be one of the first to get an answer as soon as it is possible to do so.

I have read this forum since before it was a forum. And once Dr. D. got started there was something that I noticed besides his leadership. He also researched and he shared that research. He shared whether it led to anything or not. Both the successes and the failure of leads. He didn't become proprietary about the information. And he also shared the praise. The way he was in the forum makes me trust him. And right now, it is a matter of trust. We have to trust that as soon as it is possible he will let us know.

My Grandmother used to always tell me
If you have Faith, the size of a grain of Mustard Seed, nothing shall be impossible unto you.
I have heard her tell me this many, many times, and have often reached back into my memories for this wise bit of advise.

A mustard seed, is quite small, so it only takes a 'little bit' of faith, to keep holding on, I AM HOLDING ON TO THOSE WORDS, AS WE WAIT FOR THE "WORD" !!
