ARCOLA, Ill. - A sheriff's deputy was shot in the face Thursday by an assailant who fled to a nearby bank and was holed up with several hostages, Illinois State Police said.
State Police Sergeant Tim Ellis confirmed that there are hostages in the bank, but he didn't have any other information.
