"Authorities in New Mexico are hunting for a runaway sister trio they believe may have fled their adoptive parents in search of their biological mother.
The three girls disappeared Monday, leaving a note for their adoptive parents in Truth or Consequences, N.M., explaining that they ran away because of the abusive care they were receiving..."

If the oldest girl decided her younger siblings were in danger and had it set in her mind to find her mom...it could be she did run away with them in tow. They need to concentrate heavily on the bf and his story..backing it up with eye witness accounts, lie detector, and essentially considering him the POI (which I am sure they probably do behind LE doors).
While it doesn't fit the criteria for an Amber Alert, there needs to be a system in place for Endangered Missing. Immediate Media intervention, the phone call alert system (calling neighborhoods in unison with one call to alert them to the situation), and a flier list (people designated ahead of time to drop everything and begin making, distributing, and putting into place various groups to get them up quickly).
I hope the girls are with relatives who do love them and we will find them alive, safe, and soon.

I have got to say that I find the fact that they left the note FOR the adoptive parents to lead me to believe that from their perspective, they believe that the stepdad IS abusive.

Thank goodness. Let's hope they get to the bottom of the abuse allegations. It could be something as simple as the girls not being used to someone who makes them mind. It sounds as if their biological mother didn't take proper care of them.

Great News!!! I hope their allegations are taken seriously and that the girls are really listened to.
Perhaps it is time for at least, the older two girls to have some supervised contact with bio family if they so desire.

Thank God these children were found before they crossed the border. They need a CASA (or GAL). Generally, by the time an adoption is finalized the CASA then fades from the case. Here, they need to get one on board to help the girls (and adoptive parents) right away! Returning the girls home to their adoptive parents too soon could be disasterous if CPS has not seriously addressed the allegations and helped the family work them out.
Cali - I think you are right, it could be nothing more then expecting the kids to mind, be home on time, etc. When such discipline doesn't even start until at child is 13 or 14, the child can become quite resentful. Very difficult position to be in as the caring adult. Adoptative dad may have also put some limits on the older girl's time with the boyfriend.......
Nothing makes a young girl run away faster than a parent that won't let them have free acess to their love interest, IMO.
OT - is it true that NM has the highest pedophile rate in the US?

SalemI agree when you put restraints on young love, they do rebel! It is difficult to start discipline when kids are older, too. They do need an advocate to intervene and get to the bottom of the issues tho.
Not sure on that question, Salem. NM also isn't as populated as other states so I don't know if the numbers reflect this as well. It would be a good place for pedos to live tho...wide, open spaces away from schools, children, etc. Stick 'em all out in the desert and give them their own town as far as I am concerned.
