Family Searches for UTSA Student Missing After Tubing Trip Jessica Birge Last Seen on Aug. 11th leaving Gruene in her Car
Missing UTSA student Jessica Birge
GRUENE -- Family and friends of 25-year-old Jessica Birge and pleading for help after she has been missing since August 11th.
The University of Texas at San Antonio nursing student went tubing with some friends in the Comal River on the 11th. Friends say after tubing, they went to eat at a Mexican restaurant, then to the Gruene Outpost River Lodge. They say the last time anyone saw Jessica, she was getting into her car and heading home from the lodge.

Also, our local news mentioned something about a fight between friends, that Jessica said she was leaving and hasn't been seen since.

She might have been upset and perhaps have been drinking. She might have driven off into water somewhere.
I hope they are checking cellphone activity etc.

I agree! I'm always a bit suspicious when a car is missing too.

Yikes... it's girls weekend this weekend and we'll be tubing the Comal and doing dinner and dancing in Gruene. We'll definitely keep our eyes open and be on the lookout for her, poor thing. I hope nothing has happened and that there's a simple explanation but it doesn't sound like she would just go off without contacting someone.

Finally an article in the Austin news. Not really any new info though. I don't live that far from New Braunfels and I hadn't even heard about her until I saw it here on WS. From the original article I thought she lived in San Antonio. This article says she lives in NB. Gruene, where she was tubing and eating, is a historic district, but it is part of the city of NB itself. It would seem like she didn't have that far of a drive to get home then. I wonder if they know her route and have carefully checked along the rivers for signs of an accident.

Here's an article from the New Braunfels paper

Not much new - other than details of what they've done to search.
I'd seen the posters around here ... we live on the other side of Canyon Lake from the Gruene area.
I thought it was interesting the numerous locations people are searching - including North Texas where she apparently worked..
