I was not sure what to call the article. I posted a little bit of the article, go to the link to read more. I wonder why it took 3 years for anyone to talk about this man?! His picture is posted at the link also...
http://savannahnow.com/node/364434
He has no name.
He doesn't know his birth date.
He has no home and no job.
He's been called a vagrant, a bum and John Doe.
He wishes he knew more to counter those accusations, but he can't remember anything.
He calls himself a "real live nobody."
The only life he knows started shortly before 7 a.m. Aug. 31, 2004, when a former Burger King (http://savannahnow.com/content/related?topic=Burger+King+Corporation) manager found Kyle (http://savannahnow.com/content/related?topic=Benjaman+Kyle) lying next to a Dumpster behind the restaurant on U.S. (http://savannahnow.com/content/related?topic=United+States) 17 in Richmond Hill (http://savannahnow.com/content/related?topic=Richmond+Hill), according to a police report.
Kyle (http://savannahnow.com/content/related?topic=Benjaman+Kyle) was naked and unresponsive. He was sunburned and covered in bites from fire ants, according to paramedics' reports.
The fast-food manager called police, who labeled the man with no name a "bum" and sent him off in an ambulance, the report stated.

He should be asked to be treated like an illegal immigrant so he could get some type of ID! (a little sarcastic) I feel sorry for the guy that he can't get a decent job because of his amnesia.
I think it's cool that he's been looking on the internet for himself. It seems like people have been trying to ID him all these years afterall. I wish him well, and I'll keep looking too.

From http://savannahnow.com/node/364434
Kyle (http://savannahnow.com/content/related?topic=Benjaman+Kyle) said he remembers living in Indiana (http://savannahnow.com/content/related?topic=Indiana) and Colorado (http://savannahnow.com/content/related?topic=Colorado), but he doesn't know when or where. He has no memories of Richmond Hill (http://savannahnow.com/content/related?topic=Richmond+Hill) or any other place in the South.
Anyone want to check missing persons list in those two states?

I think he looks a bit like this man, hard to compare when one is smiling and one is frowning. Looks a bit like the same eyebrows and nose maybe? 2 inch difference in height, but maybe when they filed this missing report they weren't exactly certain of Mr Stewart's height and they say Kyle is "about" 5 foot 11.. two abouts could be the same height.

He looks possible, but he has no teeth:
Identifying Characteristics:Appendectomy scar, surgical scars on right thigh and hip, no teeth.
I would think they would mention that Kyle has no teeth. But that was 3 years ago, he could certainly have false teeth by now.
There's also something that looks a bit, umm, "skinny" (bad word choice, but I can't put my finger on it) about Mr. Stewart. Kyle looks bigger-boned, a little more hearty I think. Something is different between the two.
Good find though!

Samuel Norris Campbell (http://www.theyaremissed.org/ncma/gallery/ncmaprofile_all.php?A200604457S)
Thomas Ray James (http://www.theyaremissed.org/ncma/gallery/ncmaprofile_all.php?A200502549S)
William Dale Lott (http://www.theyaremissed.org/ncma/gallery/ncmaprofile_all.php?A200502304S)

I'm not that great at noticing resemblances, but I think the first one here, Samuel Norris Campbell, has a resemblance to him. Missing since 1985, he would have aged quite a bit since then. Wish there was an age progression of the missing guy.
I hope Benjaman Kyle (John Doe) gets listed with the NCMA and the Doe Network, and has DNA put in CODIS. Anything to help find a match!

I really like this guy - but, when I put the pictures side by side, I notice that the eyes, where the eyebrows are, are more "hooded" (not really the right word), the mustache grows differently and the shape of the bald part of the head is somewhat different. However, it sounds like BK has gained some weight if he is really 240 pounds. His picture sure doesn't look like 240, but I'm not good at guessing weights.
I think this picture is pretty close and is worth looking at further. There is an 8 year difference between the two pictures so it would be natural for there to be some physical changes in that time.
Just my 2 cents. Good find!

I think the Thomas Ray James one someone listed is a good possability. If something bad didn't happen to this Thomas guy and he was the one driving his car when it was found in KY then that shows he was heading south for some reason. Maybe he ran out of gas or something, car broke down.......he hitchhiked south to Florida with someone and either they mugged him and knocked him in the head or they dropped him off and someone else mugged him and left him there.
It doesn't sound to far fetched.....it says thomas james has a medical condition .....so maybe it could be him. The height and build are right. Hard to tell from the photo.....but adding a few years, it could be a match.
The Thomas James guy says brown balding hair...5'11-6'0 ....200lbs.....it says brown eyes, but it could be hazel or greenish brown maybe. Benjaman Kyle looks to me like he has green eyes from the one photo.
I think this could be a pretty good match. ......

This guy needs to go on national TV and get his story out there. There was a similar case with a guy who showed up in Denver with no memory. He ended up going on Good Morning America, and a friend watching the show recognized him. Turned out to be Jeffrey Alan Ingram from Seattle. I have a blog about Jeffrey and a few other amnesia victims - added BK to it too, in the hopes that someone will recognize him:

I found this while scouring about today:
LOUIS BENJAMAN KYLE
GROVE - Louis Kyle, age 92, died at his home after a sudden illness. The son of Daniel M. and Katherine (Gurland) Kyle, he was born on January 9, 1909 in Festus, Mo. Louis was a member of the Moose Lodge in Grove. He worked as a machinist for McDonald Douglas and Boeing for 25 years, retiring at age 65 in 1984.
Survivors are: two children, Daniel Murry Kyle and Ila Lou Robbins; a brother, Ed Kyle Sr., and two grandsons, David and Daniel Kyle.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 24, in the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home. The interment will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Sand Springs. The services are under the directions of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.
I wonder if he could be Daniel? Although, if Louis Kyle was 92 in 2001, that would have made him 98 in 2007 - how old would his kids likely be? Maybe older than our guy, huh?

This guy looks like he could be the one. He was more robust in his younger years but a lot of the same twinkle in his eyes are there. Also, the hairline as it would naturally recede.
The one thing is I can't tell if that is a dimple in the younger man's chin or hair growth. The dimple is not apparent in the older man so that is where it could vary.

Hello Synthia 1021:
I am a nurse who is trying to help Mr. Benjaman Kyle to get his identity back. First and foremost, Mr. Kyle and I would like to thank you for your interest in his case. We received an e-mail regarding your immediate response to the newspaper article. We would also like to express our gratitude to all of you out there in cyberspace who have taken an interest in Mr. Kyle's situation. It is so heartwarming to witness so much compassion in this world.
I noticed some very good questions so I am going to try to respond to them now: Mr. Kyle appears to be in his 50's. He has no tattoos. He has a scar across the front of the neck that is most likely from cervical disk surgery. He has two parallel scars on his left elbow and believes it pertains to reparative surgery on the elbow that most likely entails surgical implantation of pins and/or plates. He believes the elbow surgery dates back to his 20's and is not very clear about the cervical surgery timeframe. He is 5"11" and currently weighs approximately 240 pounds. He is a large-framed man. He would have had brown hair in the past but it is graying now with a receding hairline. His eyes are blue-green.
He was found unresponsive early in the morning of August 31, 2004 behind a Burger King located on Highway 17 in Richmond Hill, Georgia (directly across from U.S. Interstate 95 - exit 87). No identification was recovered on his person. To date, he has been unable to remember his name and where he comes from. However, He has memories of Indiana and Colorado. His accent is not native to Georgia. I am really no expert on accents so I am going to have to leave that one alone.
Mr. Kyle is well-mannered and probably received a good education. He comes across as very professional. He is of above-average intelligence and seems to possess a great deal of knowledge regarding restaurant buildings, supplies and equipment. He also seems to know a great deal about buildings in general. This may possibly relate to his career prior to his amnesia.
We have been checking the website for the National Center for Missing Adults to no avail. I have called many times and also attempted to register by e-mail including some digital photos in that e-mail. I never did get a response. I learned later that Hurricane Katrina placed a very heavy workload on them and that subsequent budget cuts to their program - which were quite significant - proved to be crippling to them.
If anyone out there knows any reputable and reliable websites that post missing and unidentified person photos please let me know. I have digital photos ready to be posted. Also, I am probably not as computer savvy as many of you are. Can you take his picture and post it on places like my space and you tube so it can get around all over and eventually be recognized by someone who can help to identify Mr. Kyle? I have additional photos that could prove helpful but I do not know how to post them to this site. Any help you can offer will be highly appreciated.

It would be ideal if they could release an audio of his accent. People from certain parts of the country could place it and narrow down the search field perhaps. I have heard of people with amnesia developing a psuedo accent, but this may not pertain to him.
If there are pins or plates present in his elbow, would they not also contain numbers which could be traced? I don't know how one would go about obtaining the numbers short of exploratory surgery, but it is a thought.
Wouldn't it be clear in x-rays if he had a cervical repair on his neck? If not, could the surgery have been for other reasons such as thyroid? Has there been an effort to contact the AMA in possibly tracking down a surgeon who may have performed the work on either his neck or elbow?

I think he would do well with national exposure. We can start a letter writing campaign to get his story out to various news organizations and shows. I feel this would be a more immediate way to find out his true identity.

What about the Today Show? This case is fascinating to me. I can't imagine what it must be like for him. I don't know if Mr. Kyle would want to put himself out there on national TV like that but millions of people would see his face that way. Somewhere there has to be someone that recognizes him. Hello Synthia 1021:
I am a nurse who is trying to help Mr. Benjaman Kyle to get his identity back.
~snip~
If anyone out there knows any reputable and reliable websites that post missing and unidentified person photos please let me know. I have digital photos ready to be posted. Also, I am probably not as computer savvy as many of you are. Can you take his picture and post it on places like my space and you tube so it can get around all over and eventually be recognized by someone who can help to identify Mr. Kyle? I have additional photos that could prove helpful but I do not know how to post them to this site. Any help you can offer will be highly appreciated.
Thank you so much.
Hello and thanks for joining us! I posted Mr. Kyle's picture in my MySpace blog about amnesia back in September:
http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=148979586&blogID=311164872
I'd be glad to make a YouTube video with his photos...I'll send you a private message so we can exchange emails :)

I did take a look, but if you will notice that Kyle has a very distinct nose. It is quite thin coming down the bridge and has an upward type flare of the nostrils. (Even if you lose/gain a lot of weight...it doesn't affect the way the nose is made.) I think this is one feature which will be very beneficial in helping figure out his true identity.
It would be great to reunite him with his family. I hope the nurse drops in again soon and can discuss with him about going national. I don't want to pursue it until we have his blessings.

Hi Synthia 1021:
This is Benjaman's nurse. I just wanted to let you know thay Mr. Kyle was on the 6:00Pm news (WSAV-TV) on our local channel 3 in Savannah, Georgia tonight. Maybe you can check it out on their website. I recall someone asking about his accent - if you can play it back you may be able to learn more. The pictures of him may be better, too. It would be great to get that footage played on a national level. Please let me know if you get any feedback about him.
Thanks again.

Hello Gina:
This is Benjaman's nurse. Thank you for your kind welcome. Please check out the news station WSAV-TV for 10/15/07. The 6:00Pm news profiled Mr. Kyle. I hope you will be able to view the whole clip - it will show more angles of him than the one photo in the newspaper article from September and if you can pick up sound you will be able to hear his regional accent.
Can we get that clip out there in cyberspace? Please let me know if there is anything I can be doing to help get him recognized by his loved ones.
Thank you kindly.

Dear SS:
Thank you for your help. This man, Defoe, is not Mr. Kyle. Mr. Kyle is 5'11" and 240 pounds. He has a large frame. So far we have checked out all the photos on the NCMA webite. Do you know when is the last time they posted anything new? Also, do you know any other reliable websites that I can be looking at?
Thanks again.

I think he sounds Coloradoan too - it's hard to pinpoint a specific state, but he definitely doesn't sound like he's been in the south for a huge part of his life, nor does he sound North Eastern.

Accent sounds "rural Midwest" to me. He pronounces "Indianapolis" the same way I do (I'm from Chicago), but most of his speech has a sort of rural "twang" to it. Anyone know if it's possible to extract the video and post it elsewhere?

I've been searching all night....does this look like a possibility? I realize the weight and height aren't exact but my husband pointed out that sometimes people leave the same weight and height on their license even after they've gained weight....and as people get older they lose inches in height.

I found three listings for missing men that have some characteristics that resemble those of this man.
Samuel Norris Campbell (http://www.theyaremissed.org/ncma/gallery/ncmaprofile_all.php?A200604457S)
Thomas Ray James (http://www.theyaremissed.org/ncma/gallery/ncmaprofile_all.php?A200502549S)
William Dale Lott (http://www.theyaremissed.org/ncma/gallery/ncmaprofile_all.php?A200502304S)
They all are around the right height. The second one went missing earlier the same month this man was found. Our John Doe is not listed in the unidentified persons area of NCMA. Also is not listed on the Doe Network site.
I keep coming back to Samuel Norris Campbell. It says he's got a scar on his neck.

I believe he is either from Colorado or maybe even Oklahoma...because being from NE Oklahoma...I don't detect any accent at all. He sounds like one of us. LOL
I think the new photos and the sound bites will move his case along. I will send letters to our local stations here in Tulsa and OKC. If we can get widespread coverage with local and national media attention, I honestly don't think it will take long to find out where he belongs.
His elbow surgery interests me. Does he recall playing any sports where he could have gotten the injury or developed an injury over time? Has he shown any "natural" abilities or a keen interest in any one sport?
I can also try to contact the Arch Diocese in Colorado to see if it is possible for them to aid in this. Perhaps they can include him in newsletters throughout the area.

I'm afraid we might be getting a bit hung up on his accent (or lack there of) pointing to a specific location - my dad and my husband both say warsh (as in "I'm going to warsh the dishes") and it drives me BONKERS ;) ("there's no R in wash..." I tell them). But they're both from Nebraska. I think his accent sounds very mid-American - but the lack of a specific accent could point to anywhere from Nevada to Ohio.
Also - he could have grown up and lived the better part of his life in "mid-America" and then moved to somewhere with an indigenous, more obvious accent - Georgia, Texas, Boston, etc. He could be reported missing from anywhere if that was his last known location.
Benjaman looks like he could be my uncle - maybe we can adopt him until he finds his own family. :p

I was having a thought (be careful, they're few and far between :p ).
What if we each sent an email out to our circle of family and friends with Mr. Kyle's picture and a short blurb about him, and include LE contact information? I don't want to create a negative impression of Mr. Kyle through a series of forwards, but a single, well-timed email that our friends and colleagues might take a minute to forward might mean the difference in this case.
I'm just thinking back to an email I got last week about a litter of 6 puppies who were found on a gravel road. The original sender wanted to find homes for them, and by noon that day I had received the email a couple times - but all the puppies were placed by early that afternoon. Maybe that was an isolated incident, but it seems like the good in people usually comes through to rally around a cause.
What do you think?

That was my only concern - however I think it's worth the risk. I included a link to the doenetwork page in my email, so readers could verify the validity of the case. I'm crossing my fingers that those with concerns will do their research before dismissing it.
Two things will happen when someone reads the email - either they'll forward it or they won't. If they don't forward it, then we're not out anything. Plus that's one more person who will have seen his face.

True - I thought you were looking for credibility. The FBI is more credible than Savannah area media, IMO.No, what I am talking about is when you ask news media to do a story on a person that is not a criminal, you normally provide them with direct access to that person instead of the FBI or another news organization. I am not saying the FBI isn't credible, but I don't know they want to bother with the media at this point. Before his story goes national...Mr. Kyle needs to either set up a way to contact him or he needs to appoint someone to be a spokesperson on his behalf to handle the media blitz. The nurse seems to be willing to fill this role in some capacity, but is she capable of handling things if they become national?

My point IS...they will want to set up their OWN interviews with Mr. Kyle!! So how do they go about it?!
I would THINK the Savannah news outlets could give the national media Mr. Kyle's contact info if they need it to set up the necessary interviews - I don't think WE need to be the ones to do so. If the nurse or Mr. Kyle himself are not capable of handling all the contacts, I'm sure they will find someone to do it.

I am not so sure he is that much of a long shot after all. I mean he is the right height, right hair and eye color, the right age range and close to the right weight. The thing that gets me is the nose. They both have that same very distinctive nose and the mustache looks alot alike too. Out of all the missing persons I viewed so far this is actually the best match from a information and looks stand point. Now there is the thought no one is missing him and he has no family left. At that age, if he got divorced or never married at all or never had any kids, it is entirely possible that he has no family left. It is a very sad thought but entirely possible too.

I agree there are a lot of similarities in the two. Aging changes a lot but the nose is awfully close IMO.All I can see is his bottom lip but it fits.

It was mentioned that perhaps Mr. Kyle was on a business trip to or through the area when the the event that caused his amnesia took place, so I thought it might be helpful to know what the major industries are in & around that area.....

Another odd thing, wouldn't his employer notice he was missing? Why is no one looking for him? Maybe there are people who are missing him, but they are missing him in another Country. Far fetched, but maybe his last know place was in a foreign country for work and people known to him assume he went missing there. Unknownst to them he had returned to the US and met with misadventure here. Does that make sense?
This case is driving me nuts. I can only imagine how Benjaman must feel!

ehh. That's a hard one. The amnesia "spell" could have started months before he was found if he went missing and then was just aimlessly wandering around before the attack. I tend to think his amnesia was onset due to the attack, so I would think he would have known who he was up until that point. If that was the case, more than likely he would have been reported missing in the days or weeks surrounding August 31, 2004. Who knows how long he wasy lying behind the Burger King, too. BUT, this is all purely conjecture on my part though.
He may not have had family or friends at all, and he may NEVER have been reported missing. :( I'm hoping that's not the case, and someone, somewhere out there is waiting for him.

I began searching on the date he was found have gone backwards on different sites so far. I searched one site last night back to 2000. (Took four hours and found nothing except many, many missing people other than BK.)
While it is reasonable to believe the amnesia occurred due to the attack, there simply isn't any way to know.
I found the good link to the story about the man with amnesia who was found by his wife after 12 years. Here it is: http://www.dailyherald.com/story/print/?id=37918
~snipped from the article above~
According to Dr. Kathy Borchardt, director of neuropsychology at Central DuPage Hospital's Neurosciences Institute in Winfield, retrograde amnesia is unusual. A case that lasts for several years is "extremely rare," she said.
An individual who suffers amnesia due to a head injury typically loses the memories immediately after the trauma, said Borchardt, who has never treated Hyzy. And most cases of memory loss are resolved in three to six months, she said. But many mysteries still surround the brain.
"Memory is not a simple process," she said. "There's a lot we still don't know about head injuries and amnesia."
Different memories involve different areas of the brain and separate pathways between those areas. Name recognition, for example, is processed differently than relational memory, such as knowing who your wife is.

just to let everyone know.. I searched all of www.missingadultsmap.com (http://www.missingadultsmap.com) for every state starting yesterday and finished today, everything I thought was a good lead, I forwarded to BKs nurse. I went back as far as 1997 just to be safe. I started on NCMA, for each state, viewing every last name, every pic that remotely resembles BK, and also any names with Benjamin.. its a long, slow process and more eyes are best! Good luck, lets find his family!

Great work! However, I would prefer we discuss them here instead of forwarding them on to the nurse. If we weed out the ones we feel either are not applicable or don't match...we can alleviate some of the pressure on her.
I went through the North American Missing Persons Network (www.nampn.org (http://www.nampn.org/)) for hours last night. While it isn't the best of sites for searching (you have to click on every name to get any info), I went back as far as 2000...so I have more to go on that site today.
I think we can forgo NCMC/NCMA as they have already searched diligently and found nothing there.

I have searched through the Texas DPS Missing Persons Clearinghouse, California DOJ Missing Persons, and almost every state that had an offical state or police missing persons website. I've also searched tons of local police departments from Florida to Ohio to Washington and beyond as well as all the regular missing persons websites such as Charley Project, DoeNetwork, etc. I've gone back as far as the 80's because you never know, hence William Herbert Pear. Anyone I've found who could be a potential match I've posted on this thread. BK has a very distinctive look and sad to say, I can't help but wonder if anyone has even reported him missing. On the bright side though, I am soooo glad that the major media outlets are starting to pick his story up, hopefully he'll have some answers soon!

I looked at William's picture again tonight and I noticed something. Look closely at the left side of his face. Blow up the picture if possible. Doesn't that look like a indentation on the left lower cheek? Much like Mr. Kyle's puncture wound? Now if only we could get a picture of William's left side or talk to anyone that knew him to see if he had that mark. Also, He was last seen leaving where he worked. I wonder what profession he was in?

I think they look a like. His hair could have grayed in the past 3 years. It would be nice to have a shot of him with out a mustache just to see what he looks like with out it. Facial hair can make a huge difference in appearance.

I choose to believe he has family and a life to return to. Maybe it is my optimistic side, but everyone has someone. They might not be blood relatives. They might be friends who adore him. Or...as in the case of Jon missing from NV...perhaps LE refused to classify him as missing and instead decided he was an adult who chose on his own to leave. In any event, I want to believe he will find the ones who love him and would give anything to see him again. I guess I am a born romantic.

I agree, he seems like such a sweet guy, he must have someone out there who cares about him. Perhaps LE never filed an official missing persons report, or perhaps his family presumed him deceased for some reason. I am hoping this will be a heartwarming reunion story, similar to this one:
http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?t=53544
(Thanks for bumping that up, SS!)
I also thought it might be a good idea to search websites related to the restaurant industry, for any mention of a missing person. Benjaman says he has a lot of knowledge in that area and may have worked in the restaurant industry. Even if he wasn't officially listed as a missing person, someone out there has to be wondering what happened to him.

I'm thinking of a presumed dead situation as well. Benjaman has fallen through the cracks of missing person data bases for some reason. I think the next step is to search news reports during the time of his discovery at BK to see if there was any accidents/incidents during that time. Another poster commented on the Florida Hurricane evacuations. There are so many of us here. Maybe we can each take a state and be in charge of the state, local and county databases. And research news reports? That way there won't be as much duplication of searches while other areas are being missed? Taking your home state would be a good start. I'll take Utah if no one objects.

The fact that Benjaman was found minus clothing could indicate a water type misadventure. Car into water, boating accident, swimming?
I would think that whatever happened, happened really close to the BK. I don't think he would have gone far from whatever incident occured.

When I read about the no clothes issue, the first thing that popped into my mind and I dont know why is a gay sex thing gone wrong and they beat him. Please dont attack me I do not mean anything negative about being gay, but for some reason this popped into my head.
Then I thought of another angle, maybe he was in a relationship with a woman maybe a married woman and her husband showed up while they were in the act, he went beserk and attacked BK and dumped him off as is..
I have read alot about business men that travel alot for their jobs, some of them get lonely on the road and they keep mistresses in the towns they frequent. I also wonder if BK has a preference men or woman now ? That might help in finding out his true identity.

I'm following your line of thinking - and I agree. We've all poured over the missing person's sites in the last few weeks (not to mention all the searching Benjaman has done for the last 3 years!) to no avail. Although I'm sure there are sites that we haven't perused yet, if he was ever listed on a major site (ncma for example) it seems we should have found him by now. Please please keep checking the all the missing person sites, that's not what I'm getting at.
I do think this could be a case of presumed dead OR as someone mentioned earlier, a case where LE at the time wouldn't take the missing persons report. (Such as the troubles Maureen, wife of missing Jon Van Dyke, has had with his case (http://websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51148)
I like the idea of searching for news articles from the time surrounding Mr. Kyle's "find", hopefully something will surface soon. I will take Nebraska. :)

Well any thought is a good one at this point. A odd set of circumstances is what probably happened. It also could be a person who was responsible for Benjaman's injuries never reported him missing, because they didn't intend for him to be found.

I am currently on page 7 of Google news search "presumed drowned+2004. Nothing sticks out yet, but I can see exactly how this scenario could happen.

I thought about the water angle as well. The Ogeechee River appears to run through Richamond Hill leading to the Ossabaw Sound & Atlantic Ocean. Wonder what types of activities and/or industry are most prevalent along the river?

I'll take Texas, I've actually already done some searching for "presumed drown" in Florida.

Another question I have that I feel is very important is what was BK's health & hygeine like when he was found? I know he was in bad shape due to the beating, fire ant bites & sun exposure, but what I mean is, what was the length of his hair, the condition of his fingernails, his dental health? What was his toxicology? I say this because it could very well be that BK was a transient & that no one would know to report him missing. I agree that he looks very well put together & business like at this point, however it is amazing what a little soap, a haircut & some decent clothes can do for a person, no offense meant to BK. BK could have been someone who rode the trains as there is a railroad that goes right through Richmond Hill at I-95 & HWY 17, very close to the Burger King. One scenario could be that BK along with some of the other train riders got off the train in Richmond Hill to get some food. It's possible that BK was beaten up by his fellow train riders simply because he had money at the Burger King & they didn't, however small the amount. They could have beaten him up for his money & stole his clothes, being that clothes can be a hot commodity in the transient community. If alcohol were involved that could possibly explain why BK laid there & was exposed to the sun & fire ants for so long. I would suggest emailing Salvation Army centers, homeless shelters, etc. in addition to our other searches. Just a thought...

I have done a very limited amount of searching here in Indiana. If anyone else would like to help with Indiana I would appreciate it. I think Indy should be looked at very closley since he seems to have some memories of Indy and maybe the sourrounding states to Indiana, It seems like every other person in Indiana came from Kentucky and the were born and raised there but grew up and moved to Indiana looking for better jobs.
Also, I dont know if it would be worth all the extra work to search states far away from Georgia for a presumed drowning, and then have him turn up on the other side of the country still naked doesnt seem likely but who knows

Yeah I wonder about more information about when he was found. I mean homeless people werent always homeless and they at one time took better care of their appearance. I wonder more about his injuries, what made him unconsceience and how long approx he was laying there? The day before? What were ALL the injuries. Did he smell of alcohol? Did the person who dumped him think he was dead? Then I go back to the traveling businessman senario, I have heard of men leaving their wifes and just up and leaving and never looking back. Could this be what he did and he has never been officially listed as missing, because if someone just leaves you because you werent getting along etc. You would really have no reason to report them missing or have any idea they were "missing" if you think they left because they wanted to leave.

Are all government workers fingerprinted? I know his DNA and fingerprints were checked for matches, but what if he was some type of aid worker that was in the south for the hurricanes and was presumed dead after he didn't return home?

I like this one, but it is so far away from Richmond Hill. I don't know how he would have gotten that far with no clothing unless he just had shorts on. Would be a very long walk!
The man missing from Tybee Inlet would make more sense because with the rip tide...it could have washed him down towards Ossawba Island and carried him inland...but he would have been gone for three months.
Also, I ran across information on a 100 day heat wave in GA during that time. Could explain why he had on no clothes maybe.

Missing man turns up at hospital
A Highland man reported missing on June 22 resurfaced Tuesday morning at St. Joseph's Hospital in Highland with no memory of where he had been or why he had left town, authorities said. By Tuesday evening, James E. Schauster, 53, had been released from the hospital and stood outside his house pondering where he had been for the last two weeks.
Schauster said he remembered bumping his head on a water pipe in his basement on June 19 as he worked to fix a leak.
The next thing...

I'm searching the words missing presumed dead in Google News for all articles appearing in 2004. Unfortunately between the tsumanis, some major disaster in Haiti, and what seems like a TON of missing mountain climbers, it's a lot to weed through. There are 2100 articles though, maybe something will come up.
he was attacked who is to say they didn't steal his clothes along with everything else? Maybe he was down there under false pretenses for a business deal and the person thought he was dead when they dumped him behind the dumpster. Did they check the dumpster when they found him for any clues? Check hotels in the area?(do they make copies of ID's at all hotels?maybe left luggage behind and didn't check out)
Sorry just thinking out loud.

how long do they think he was where they found him?

This man's name was Christopher Caldwell. Despite the fact he appeared very intoxicated a crew member ignored his condition and left him outside on the aft deck rather than escorting him back to his cabin. Give his level of intoxication I think he probably drowned.

I feel like I opened up a can of worms! Humans can get themselved into the darndest situations. I can really see now how easily Benjaman got into the situation he is in. Outside of CNN posting the video interview, where does the national exposure stand? That really has to be the best option right now.
I'm almost done checking Utah now. I didn't think I would find anything there. But at least we can cross that one off the list.
