A fifteen year-old girl snuck out of her house Monday to rendevous with a man she met on myspace. He is listed as a high-risk sex offender.

Authorities issued an Amber Alert for Alyssa Frank, 15.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd pleaded with the public for any tips to find the suspect he identified as William Joe Mitchell, 46, of Jacksonville. Mitchell met the Bartow girl on Myspace.com and cultivated a relationship, Judd said.

''He lured her away and now he's got her, and we've got to have her back. Safely,'' Judd said. ``We are, as I've said before, incredibly concerned.''

so much for that list of sex offenders myspace gave to the feds....
But I don't completely blame myspace, nor do I completely blame her parents. 75% of my blame lyes in the system that let a man with 14 prior arrests walk around freely. Even if he didn't commit some of those crimes-inncocent people aren't get arrested 14 times for no reason.

I hope it's effective for some-I have a 16 y.o. cousin that has a myspace. I send her every single story I find about victims of myspace, I'm not sure she even pays attention to them.
