I think they had to do a DNA test to rule ANYONE else out as the father. I'm glad they did it though. I'm sorry that the family members had to go through such suspicion, but it is quite normal in this type of crime.

I have never heard of a case before where they test DNA automatically like that to prove that the grandfather isnt really the father? Maybe they do and it just isnt publicized. I truly hope that if he did do this they have enough evidence to prove that, it seems to have taken a long time to get all their ducks in a row.

For those of us who knew James we are of course saddened by today's event. Nonetheless, I believe I would rather his future be handled in the courts than in the minds of those who had already decided his guilt. I also hope this puts an end to all the wild speculations and to all the finger pointing. In all, over the past few weeks, I have read more speculation about this case than I ever wanted to. I can only hope that common sense will prevail and that a fair and just resolution to this case will follow. As the Stanleys neighbor I hope they are able to BEGIN to find some peace now.
I am haunted by images of these two young women as very small girls...its all I can see when I think of them.

They loved to play basketball in thier driveway when they got older (Dale would play with them).

They used to play kickball in the street with my sons.

The main thing I will remember them for is they were ALWAYS smiling.

It was rare to see one without the other.....they were very close sisters....always laughing.

Two little girls gone forever from thier parents.

The only children they had.

My heart hurts for them.

As the Stanleys neighbor I hope they are able to BEGIN to find some peace now.
I am haunted by images of these two young women as very small girls...its all I can see when I think of them.

They loved to play basketball in thier driveway when they got older (Dale would play with them).

They used to play kickball in the street with my sons.

The main thing I will remember them for is they were ALWAYS smiling.

It was rare to see one without the other.....they were very close sisters....always laughing.

Two little girls gone forever from thier parents.

The only children they had.

My heart hurts for them.This is the most pain I have heard of from a parents viewpoint. I couldn't imagine and won't. To think that they lost both of their girls to this killer is most unimaginable and horrific. I am glad you have some good memories and maybe when the time is better you should share that with their parents. My prayers go out to you with your pain, too.

The Stanleys sound like great people. I'm glad Alexis has them, and I think having her around will be of some comfort even though it will also be a reminder of what happened.

I think it was simply his bare hands. I do not think he intended to kill Erin, I think it was a fit of rage therefore he was not looking up ways to poison people. Now poor Kelly that's another story, I think he broke into her window and strangled her as well as she slept.

Because they removed all the stuffed animals and bedding from Kellys death leads me to believe she was perhaps suffocated. This is just speculation on my part though. Initially I had wanted to believe that because the girls were so close that Kelly had taken her life. It appeared though that she was coping and was not headed in that direction.

In my own mind I wanted to believe that she took her own life.....her choice.....not someone taking it from her.

But the longer this has gone on I am more led to think the evidence they have is circumstantial.

I still do not understand all this DNA talk. Even IF Dale had fathered his own grandchild does not make a difference. I also STILL do not understand how they know it was James other than all 3 of them (Lonny, Dale & James) confirming that James was sleeping in bed with her. But even then and as insane as it sounds does not prove it was James. I mean I know he did in my soul - but i hope they have some more evidence - i just have the sneaky suspicion the case is flimsy.

Wow!!! An arrest! I am soooo happy that this case is moving forward. I havent kept up with the threads on this case for a couple of days and now. I am not sure if I can ever get caught up, so bear with me. In my trying to catch up, I think I read somewhere about James' grandfather being a retired federal something. I agree. Even if he was 100% innocent, when being scrutinized for a homicide I would strongly recommend legal counseling. There have been too many cases of false confessions, and wrongful convictions in the past. LE does the best they can, but in the end they are still human and make mistakes.

My family has always been instructed to ALWAYS request a lawyer immediately if ever they are speaking to LE for any reason where they feel they could be a suspect! (I taught them this as one of the lessons in life they should file away for a just in case someday scenario...like safe sex!)

I am well aware of tactics used by LE which I feel should be legally changed (being able to lie, cheat, and doctor evidence for a confession or a statement). This is one of my pet peeves! Why should LE be able to do these things when we, as citizens, are not allowed by LAW?! :furious:

I am sure that this ordeal has not been easy for Mr. and Mrs. Stanley, however, we wouldn't be doing Erin and Kelly justice by not asking the hard questions. I am sure that in time the Stanley's will begin to heal and understand that what we post here isn't anything personal against them.
