I am working on an internet calendar that we can use to keep track of the FACTS in this case. This is the link:

It will be impossible for me to complete the calendar without your help! Please use this thread to post any FACTS along with time/date and link to the information if possible. This thread can also be used for corrections.

James McFarland, 23, who was in bed with Erin Stanley at the time of her death, was formally charged with murder in Wayne Circuit Court on Wednesday. He is being held without bail in the Wayne County Jail.

Lonny Stanley, the sisters' mother, called for an ambulance for Erin about 5:15 a.m. Sept. 1. Although she suggested during the 911 call that her daughter was still trying to breathe, court documents filed Wednesday indicate Stanley likely was dead before a police officer arrived.

The police officer, who was the first to arrive, noted that Stanley's eyes were shut, her teeth were clenched and her lips were blue and that she was not breathing, according to the document filed Wednesday.

An autopsy revealed a large amount of bleeding in the throat and larynx, the affidavit stated. Signs of bruising in the neck area were further indications she had been strangled.

Shipman, the prosecutor, said investigators continue to wait for a determination on how Kelly Stanley died. Toxicology reports came back "clean," meaning they showed no signs of alcohol or drugs, Shipman has said.
Now, additional toxicology tests are being done, and the pathologist working on the case is discussing it with other pathologists, Shipman said.

The pathologist has not determined the second death as a homicide," Shipman told the Associated Press. "And until the pathologist determines it to be a homicide, I am unwilling to name anyone in that particular investigation."

According to police, Kelly was already dead when they arrived on the scene. Unlike Erin's death, police did not hesitate to label her sister's as suspicious.

According to Shipman, the results of Kelly's autopsy were inconclusive. The pathologist has asked for additional toxicology analysis, and he has formally requested to examine photographs of Kelly's bedroom.
"Requesting the photographs is very common," Shipman told Indystar.com. "The additional testing means that he is testing for something different than what was originally tested for."

In think it important to note that James continues to maintain his innocents. Here are a couple of quick thoughts. 1. If you had strangled someone, could you lie in bed with them until they urinated or something worse before calling the parents and asking them to call 9-1-1. I could not. 2. Regarding the probable cause affidavit. Does anyone out there think it didn't have a lot of detail about probable cause. It didn't seem to say a lot about why they thought James was the perpetrator. It looked like it said James was there and then provided a lot of details as to medical issues surrounding Erin's death. If there is a good prosecutor out there I would like an opinion on the affidavit. Is it customary to leave out this much detail in this type of document? Should a grand jury have been convened instead of relying on the affidavit. Just wondering.
Everyone I know says James is in one way or another a troubled child. But those I have talked to would say he is also a somewhat of a coward. I expect James to remain quiet until he get a chance to talk with a court appointed attorney and I think that's to take place around October 25. James also continues to say that he has an alibi for Kelly's time of death. It's still very early in this case and there is a lot that remains unknown. Lastly, I suspect this case has been difficult for the families on both sides and, of course, especially for Alexis. I will pray for them all and ask you to join me. Thank you

I think I'm up to 9/8/07 as far as updating the calendar. Just FYI.

Underneath the calendar there are boxes where you can choose how you want to view the info. "Month/Block" is your typical calendar look. "Month/List" will show the dates in chronologicial order top down like a list instead of a calendar look. You can even choose week, day or year (I think) instead of month. It won't ruin anything if you experiment with your options, so view it as you like. You can always return to the calendar view anytime.

Have fun with it.
