:-) Your very welcome. The reason I'm not posting links to new threads is because they are all neatly at the bottom but when we start getting a number of pages up I will start posting them on the new thread. I have a feeling that the pages are going to grow fast so I"m going to take advantage of it while I can and not add the links. LOL

I saw video of them searching that pond the first time and I remember thinking it was huge for being called a pond. There were some specifics given at the time that also stated the depth which I don't remember exactly but it was deep enough to conceal a body imo. Maybe they aren't satisfied with their original efforts. They may be stuck on info that shows that call from her cell phone was made from that area like Drew said, hoping to find her phone in that pond or other evidence too even if not Stacy.

Been watching it... he took a dig at the 3rd wife's family... saying she was raised in an abusive home.
I wish I had taped this via the PC... he made a glaring flub about if Stacey told him she was seeing someone else.
In between getting ready for work I watched the first segment of this interview. What a cold hearted man. I would bet the farm he is as guilty as the day is long. Not a tear.

Oh... as well, he portrays both women being alike... having the same kind of mental issues. (that is how I interpret what he was saying)

Today show is now talking about case.
- Recap of Savio's suspicious death, mentioning family's concern, of the body's exhumation, Drew's naming of suspect now in Stacy's disappearance, Drew's claim that she left for another man and that he has nothing to do with her disappearance. Savio's autopsy results will take days
Matt asking Drew quesstions (paraphrased below):
Q: What's Drew's response to seeing the Savio's coffin taken out of the ground
A: It's a shame. I know why they're doing it. I don't have an opinion.
Q: Do you think its a wasted effort? Do you think they'll find anything?
A: I don't know. If there's anything that happened to her, they'll find out.
Q: What's life been like for you and your two young children at home with the media circus parked outside?
A: Right. And I have 2 teenage boys also. It's harder on them having to get them ready for in the morning.
Q: How do you explain Mom's disappearance to the young ones?
A: Basically that Mom's gone on vacation.
Q:Why as a police officer do you think you have gone from a person of interest to a suspect?
A: I think they've always considered me a suspect. They always consider the husband a suspect and they want to move forward with the case?
Q: So you think you were always considered a suspect?
A: Pretty much. I've probably been a suspect since the beginning?
Q:Covers Stacy's asking for a divorce, mentions her email, what do you think of that?
A: I don't think those are her words. That isn't her vocabulary. I think it's a made-up email.
Q: Stacy's step-sister was on the Today show. Plays a clip of what she said to Meredith (that Stacy said if she never answered her phone, then something happened to me [Stacy] and that we [stepsister] would have to look for her). Why do you think that Stacy was concerned that something was going to happen to her and that they would have to look for her?
A: I don't know. I don't know.
Q: Describe the relationship between you and Stacy?
A: Our entire relationship in the beginning was very romantic. and after her sister passed away with cancer, she took a serious downside with her emotions. She lost her faith. She was very religious. Ever since her sister died, she went to a psychologist and was on medicine. Every day after her sister died was an emotional roller coaster.
Q: [interrupts] Emotional for Stacy? Between the two of you? Would you describe your relationship as volatile? Was it ever violent?
A: I don't believe it was ever violent.
Q: [interrupts again] You either know it was violent or not violent?
A: There were a few incidents where we had verbal confrontations and she hated being cornered. One time she hit me with a frozen steak.
Q: Did you ever hit her?
A: Never. Never raised a hand to her. There was an incident where we threw her in a pool during a party and she came out swinging.... but we were playing.
Q: You had said Stacy came to you and she was seeing someone else, another man. Is it fair to say that you believe that Stacy right now is with that other man?
A: She never told me she was seeing another man. Um - maybe she did but I believe she is with someone else right now.
Q: Let me just go back to that. Did she or did she not say to you that she was seeing someone else?
A: It wasn't put like that. She found somebody else. That's her exact words.
Q: And you believe that she is now not dead. That she has run off with another man.
A: I believe that, yes.
Q: Although you described as having emotional issues, she is a good mom?
A: [interrupts] a great mom.
Q: So how does a good mom of a 2-year old and a 4-year old go off with another man and doesn't call to say she's ok?
A: I don't have an explanation for that.
Q: Are you cooperating with the police? There have been conflicting reports
A: I sat down the first night she was missing and gave them a full account. Thereafter I hired some attorneys and they said don't talk no more.
Q: There are searches for Stacy where you live. Have you ever taken part in the search for Stacy?
a: Well there's 2 things. One thing. I am such a media sensation that if I went out and search, I would get all the media attention because I was out there searching. And two, why would I look for somebody who I don't believe is missing. She's gone. She's where she wants to be.
Q: Brings up Savio, no water in bathtub, hair matted, 1-inch gash to head. Now it's being said that it looks like an accident staged to cover a murder. What is your impression of it. Do you think it is an accident?
A: I was one of the first people there and I was actually the watch commander of our town the night that it happened. I met with her best friend because I hadn't seen her in a couple of days and it was very unlike her to not be seen or heard from. So I was planning the next day to go into her home with her neighbor. Her neighbor/friend was concerned so we went in that night. I waited outside.
Q: Why didn't you go in the house?
A: She was always accusing me. Didn't want me in the house. Was concerned I would steal something... then I heard screaming and went inside.
Q: What did you see? Did it look like an accidental drowning?
A: I didn't know if she was dead or alive. I checked her pulse and then didn't want to disturb the scene.
Q: True or false. You had a million dollar life insurance policy on her
A: The children did. And that money is in a protected account for them for when they turn older.
Q: And what was your relationship with Kathy like. What kind of woman was she?
A: She came from an abusive home life.At first it was very romantic. When she had children, again her emotions kicked in. And again, an emotional roller coaster with her. Our relationship was always a oneupmanship. We were always trying to basically outdo each other with different things. Who was smarter. Who was stronger.
Q: So you describe both of these woman as having emotional problems.
A: Yes, both came from troubled homes.
Q: What drew you to these woman?
A: Both woman were very beautiful, very exciting when I first met them. Kathy was a lot of fun. She was good to my kids from a prior marriage. (more of the same)
Q: Can you look me straight in the eye and tell me you had nothing to do with the death of Kathy or the disappearance of Stacy?
A: I can look right in your eye and tell you I had nothing to do either of those incidents.
Q: You seem extraordinarily calm and collected, and if I were under the pressure and the scrutiny you were under right now, a possible indictment today or tomorrow, I think I'd be a little more... I don't know... rattled?
A: Basically I am not afraid of law enforcement. I am afraid of media. The media is causing my aggravation today.
Matt breaks off. Will talk more in the next half hour with Drew.
I have to go to work though and can't trasncribe that half.

He seemed just cruel to me and very cold. I feel so horrible for this young woman,Stacy, and how he must have lured her into his web. He seems like he was very abusive it was very clear he was lying about never hitting her, he said she hit him in the head with a steak, pushing the blame on the victim IMO SICK!! And about the pool, if it was a jest at a party among friends she would not be so upset! That whole story was bull meant to try to tarnish her and instead it showed how scared she was of him!
But at least we did not have to watch fake tears like we did with Scott Peterson.
I already told my daughter if she ever brings home any guy with the last name Peterson I am booting him out the door!

"Well, I don't know if she said THAT...."... totally conflicting himself. "It wasn't put that way". :slap:

I watched the second half of the interview while getting ready for work. I will transcribe it from Tivo tonight. The basic gist was:
- Resents the "media circus" mentioning how he was directed how to respond by Giraldo while being interviewed at Drew's kitchen table. I think he felt betrayed (angry?) that, after Giraldo in his home, that Giraldo then described Drew as a man with a tightening noose around his neck.
- Said he came on the Today show without a lawyer to hopefully end all the media scrutiny.
- He loves life and is a joker. He likes to have fun.
- When Matt said that anyone reading the facts of the case (dead 3rd wife, missing 4th wife) would believe Drew was the killer and when Matt asked Drew what proof could he provide to show he was not the killer, Drew replied that he had none and recommended letting the case develop on its own.
- Only at the end of the interview and at Matt's prodding did he ask Stacy to come home or call and tell everyone where she was (i.e stop the media circus). Why didn't he ask her to call and talk to the kids? Hmmm... Should have been the first thing he said on air.
Overall, I get the impression that this cold-hearted killer sees the media as the biggest threat to his freedom, and stopping the media is pretty much all he cares about at this point.

I was thinking about the searches last night and maybe they're really searching in the wrong places...
I mean, don't you all think that DP already KNOWS that everyone would be searching fields and bodies of water? Since he's LE, he KNOWS exactly what procedures will be used to search for a body.
I think we need to look in other places that are less obvious (and less procedural) than fields and ponds. If he killed Stacy, he wouldn't have dumped her body in an obvious place to search since he knows those obvious places are the first ones that LE turns to to search.

He also knows if the media went away he could get the rest of it swept under the rug like he did before....he is a cop & his buddies would clear him of it. Yeah that's possible. I just took it more literal. In my experience, once being married to a cop, they seem to think with the logical parts of their brain, however, I never knew a cop that killed his wives......Like you said, anything is possible with this sicko:)

Do you think they are focusing on bodies of water because of what his brother is accused of saying? It seems to me that after that was slipped to the media, that LE has been focusing on the water areas. Of course, it's just MHO :)

But where though? Maybe trash dumps? Landfills I don't know where else?
Maybe he has her stored in that barrel in someone else's house, garage?
Maybe she is in the dump? Maybe she's in a cemetery?
I don't really know where else she could possibly be. It sickens me that he could look at those children every day and lie to them that "mommy's on vacation." What a sick bastard! I hope he rots in hell for what he did. :furious:
I know, innocent until proven guilty, but IMHO, this guy is guilty as sin. I would be shocked (but ecstatic) if Stacy came home alive and well from a vacation. If that were to be the case, I'd definitely be eating crow.

Peterson: "I believe she's either going to tell people where she is or she's going to go down deeper" [11/02/07 suburbanchicagonews.com]
Maybe she really is in the water. This could be taken as a metaphor.
Drew-speak: "I believe she's either going to tell people where she is..."
Translated to: She's in a barrel in the water and she'll either float...
Drew-speak: "... or go down deeper."
Translated to: ...or sink deeper down into the water.
Drew-speak: "She's where she wants to be."
Translated to: Maybe Stacy really liked the water? Waterfront property? Boating? Fishing? Maybe she is in the water, where she loved to be?

Yeah, he's afraid of the media because the media is the one getting the word out to everyone about how much of a smuck he is!! LE might not force the true facts of these cases out initially... but the media will. :)

Been following along but haven't posted much on this thread..... DP is a classic textbook narcissist sociopath & he's been bringing up bad mems! I dated this narcissistic control freak mind warping homicide detective, a la DP, for several years back in my my early 20's before I knew any better. He used to tell me he could kill me and have me poured down the drain by morning, and he meant it. Now he never said he would kill me, he just enjoyed telling me the ways in which he could kill me. I know some truly great LE so the job is not a reflection of all, but the power of the job definitely attracts the DP/my ex type of guys.

He also radiates an aura of self-confidence and personal power - an "I'm in charge" kind of guy. That can be very attractive to some, especially to the young and inexperienced who at that age might like a partner who seems to offer so much and wants to take care of everything.

He probably comes on strong. He is focused on them (the prey). He wines and dines and buys presents. It's fast and it's flattering. I've experienced it, when I was younger. Believe me, I fell hard and fast; and it was very hard to recover from the relationship.

I have been thinking of something.. Do you guys remember how Stacys sister said that Stacy had leaned over and whispered she was scared or something along those lines.. They were at Stacy and Drews house at the time..?
We have also heard about him tapping phone lines with wife #2. I think Stacy thought or knew there was some kind of recorder in her house. I dont know.. but if she was whispering in the house and her sister wasnt.. doesnt sound like anyone was around at the time. The sister I guess said out loud about how she was worried about her.. because of what happened to wife#3.
Just some things I was thinking about. If he did have a tap on the phone or some kind of surveillance equipment.. too bad the police cant get a hold of that!!

I saw the interview with Matt Lauer this morning. He looks like a smooth talker and he was clearly lying through his teeth.
Matt asked him if Stacy told him she found another man, his reply was something like: "No she didnt...well yes she did say she found somebody." This was AFTER he was saying she ran off with another man.
Sadly, I think shes dead and he hid her body. No wonder he was in NY because he knew there was no point to being at home waiting for her because she isnt coming home. :(

BLINK COUNT FROM THE TODAY SHOW VIDEO:
TOTAL VIDEO TIME: 6 minutes 26 seconds
0:01 - 1:00 = 0 blinks (Matt Lauer giving background info; DP not on camera)
1:01 - 2:01 = 38 blinks
2:02 - 3:02 = 30 blinks
3:03 - 4:03 = 35 blinks
4:04 - 5:04 = 46 blinks
5:05 - 6:05 = 40 blinks
6:06 - 6:26 = 15 blinks
Experts say that humans blink, on average 20 times per minute. During this video, DP blinked a total of 204 times in 6 minutes and 26 seconds (that I could count) making an average blink rate of 31.68 times per minute, well over the average human blink rate.
It is well known that rapid blinking is a sign of lying through rapid thinking. Experts say that rapid thinking causes blinking to become more rapid. It could also be a sign of being under pressure, but DP looked cool, calm, and collected, even a bit cocky.

Eye Tells
Most people believe that gaze aversion is a sign of lying. They assume that because liars feel guilty, embarrassed and apprehensive, they find it difficult to look their victim in the eye. This is not what happens. First, patterns of gaze are quite unstable - while some liars avert their eyes, others actually increase the amount of time they spend looking at the other person.
As gaze is fairly easy to control, liars can use their eyes to project an image of honesty. Knowing that other people assume gaze aversion is a sign of lying, many liars do the exact opposite - they deliberately increase their gaze to give the impression that they're telling the truth.
Another supposed sign of lying is rapid blinking. It's true that when we become aroused or our mind is racing, there's a corresponding increase in our blinking rate. Our normal rate is about 20 blinks per minute, but it can increase to four or five times that figure when we feel under pressure. When liars are searching for an answer to an awkward question, their thought processes speed up. In this kind of situation, lying is frequently associated with blinking. But we need to remember that there are times when people have a high blinking rate, not because they're lying, but because they're under pressure. Also, there are times when liars show normal rates."

I think he was referring to PMS time, which is possible. Some women get VERY emotional right before their periods come.
If she was on birth control, that could have made it even worse, depending on the medication and the dosage. I was on BCP's for a while and they made me a raging bitch ALL the time. I had to go off of them because the hormones were just TOO MUCH for my system.
But for him to say she asked for a divorce every month because of PMS, I think is going WAAAY too far.:loser:

It doesnt matter if she gets emotional before her period comes. The point is she is missing and he is talking about her period!?!?!? It isnt something a husband of a missing woman would normally talk about on national tv!?

At no point did he say she was happy or that the marriage was good.
Or that we was a great husband.......
He did say she was a great Mom!
Then again no great Mom would take off & never call to see how her kids were...
I can't imagine taking off leaving my kids with a man I never loved.
I can't imagine leaving my kids behind ever.
I'd never take off & "not" tell my family where I was going.
Especially with the kids beong so young they could get ill or hurt in a accident, no great Mom would consider up a leaving without at least 1 person knowing how to contact them. Nope it just doesn't happen.

What is the brother accused of saying?
Sorry for responding so late - his brother has been quoted saying to LE that he was having nightmares because of helping Drew put Stacey's body in a 55-gallon drum, pouring concrete in it and disposing of it in water. Sorry no link - they discussed it on Greta the other night with the local reporter covering the story.
Greta asked her again the other night if they were releasing any more info on that subject and the reporter replied by saying that they have not heard anything else about it.
I just find it odd, that after that report came out, that's when LE started searching the water again.

We have just learned that the Chief wrote the Mayor and Commission saying he did not want to accept Sgt Peterson’s resignation because of the internal charges - charges that would result in his termination (thus denying him his pension.). The Chief wrote that he thought the public entitled to an open hearing on this. Note that we do not know the internal charges - but it is a red flag that the Chief thought the charges would result in termination. That suggests to me that the internal charges are significant ones - but I can’t be certain without knowing the charges. We will have much more at ten pm on ON THE RECORD.

This was reported the other day regarding his suspension: The unrelated incident was about 2 months ago, as reported on local Channel 5 news in Chicago this past Saturday, was that in his supervisory capacity, he allowed an officer to go on a high speed chase of over 100 miles an hour & to pursue on the state highway at a high rate of speed. It was also stated that he had like a 4 day suspension at the time for this & this current suspension is a result of that.

I wonder if Stacy had any "favorite"places close to where she lived? If so, that would be one of the first places they should search. It doesn't sit well with me that he keeps saying "she's where she wants to be."
I hope he gets caught up in the media "spotlight" like snotty scott did, it will be Drew's downfall as well
Excellent suggestion! The other day someone asked if they had searched the field where Drew and Stacy were married. Obviously that open field where they had their wedding ceremony was chosen because it was a favorite place.

I wonder who was being chased and why? That should be public record. Anyone know how to find out?
It seems to me that if there was a ligitimate reason to pursue a vehicle and the problem was only that he, as a supervisor, let the chase get out of hand or did not call it off when he should have, the suspension and a reprimand would suffice, especially in a dept. as loose with the rules as Bollingbrook.
Must be some more serious violation for the investigation to still be open on that....(uhem...wonder where the mayor's jaguar was about the time of the chase?)!

Thanks, Leila. That's exactly the type of places I had in mind when making this post. Did she have a favorite park she took the kids too? Was she a hiker or bike rider? (favorite paths in the woods)
The field where they were married would be a great place to start. I wish I lived in the area. I would be out everyday helping.

Good post. The "she is where she wants to be" made me think of her sister that recently died of cancer. Being that Stacy was deeply depressed of her death perhaps she had said several times she wished it was her or wanted to be with her. Maybe she's buried on top of her.

But nooooo he had to pick her menstrual cycle!

Of course he would never admit it might be due to his controlling behavior.
Of course he would never admit it might be due to his abuse.

I was thinking the same thing -- if DP had Stacy's phone tapped (I'm sure he did with his controlling ways)... then he would probably have went so far as to put a GPS on her car too so he could keep up with exactly where she was driving to.
So, if she would have left voluntarily, he would have known right then where she was by looking it up on his computer --> and he would tell LE & the media exactly where she was instead of continuing to be called a suspect... if she was alive and left on her own accord that is.

Then the next day the casket of the intended occupant is lowed in that grave and the hole is covered. No one would ever think of digging up someone that is not related to this case. I've thought there must be someone else involved who knows what happened. And, there's the neighbor next door, Sharon, who saw Drew and another man carrying a blue barrel. It's someone who only helped Drew, who will feel guilty for his part and seek immunity from prosecution in exchange for his testimony.
My real concern at this point is the apparent corruption in Bolingbrook, which might be a factor in the person deciding who to approach.

I was in a very abusive relationship and on many occasions I told him "just get it over with" "if you're gonna kill me, kill me". That is not where I wanted to be but sometimes you feel defeated and you feel like being beaten to death is inevitable. Drew is a psychpath as is my ex. They twist words to be what they want them to be. If she said something like I said, he could, in his own sick mind, think she asked to die.

He can have a "free" lawyer .... they're called public defenders!
I don't think he qualifies financially, does he?

Just thought of something else... DP told Ric that SP was promiscuous when she was younger yet no past boyfriend's have come forward. People love their 15 min of fame. Some of these boyfriends would have said something just to get in the media.
As pretty as Stacey was, she probably would have had boyfriends. Unless her high school sweetheart was 40 sumthin'. I wonder if she went to the prom.
Here's your answer:

I've suspected something like this. itsreenw you are on to something.
I wonder why no one in Stacy's family has mentioned this. Even if they thought there was nothing going on at the time, how would they really know? It sounds like Stacy raised herself while living off and on with various adult relatives who were busy with their own problems. How much younger is her sister?
Surely some would at least remember meeting him or seeing him around.

Boy, he sounds like a sweetheart. Too bad they didn't stay together...
From the article:
In 2001, Chira and Stacy broke up after he said he started spending more time with his friends. Weeks later, she told him she met Drew Peterson.
"She told me he was older, a Bolingbrook police officer," Chira said. "She worked overnight [at a hotel], and I guess he would come in there and make her feel safe."
Soon thereafter, Chira said she told him Drew Peterson had asked her to marry him, though he was married to Kathleen Savio. Stacy told Chira she said yes. She never mentioned Savio, who divorced Peterson in 2003 and was found dead in a bathtub in 2004. Stacy and Drew Peterson married after his divorce in 2003 and the birth of their son.

I believe it is your constitutional right to have a (free) lawyer if you cannot or do not want to pay for one. Seeing as how you get what you pay for in this life, I would not feel comfortable with such a lawyer representing my case.

I'm not sure about that.

When I went though a divorce from my abuser I had a legal aid attorney. The man had money. I got the screws put to me. If you can hire a seasoned attorney you are better off. :)
I'm not sure about that.

Anyone heard anything coming out of the Grand Jury?

Definitely. I think Drew is hoping Geragos will step up and offer to help him out. I don't think he qualifies for a public defender since he is not indigent.

Did anyone watch the FBI guy and the body language expert on the Today show? Very interesting. The body language lady pointed out how Drew started tapping his foot when Kathleen Savio was mentioned during the interview w/Matt. They also made comments on how he snickered when he looked into the camera and asked Stacy to come home. The FBI guy said if Drew really didn't know where Stacy was at - he'd be BEGGING her to at least call and say where she is so he wouldn't have to go through this anymore. You should watch the tape if you haven't seen it.

I think a blind person could have told us that. LOL It is so obvious from the laughter and his demeanor thru the entire interview. Disgustingly showing no remorse or lack of care for his children. Seriously, listen to the interview with your eyes closed.

There is a book out there "Men who hate women and the women that love them". This guy is a classic women hater. He starts out fast and furious "the romance was wonderful" He hops in fast and then when the woman begins to show any kind of "real" emotions he backs off. Notice how he talks about how both relationship were romantic and THEN...the women both put him on emotional roller-coasters. He can't handle "intimacy" accept for the sexual high exhilarating part. He learned somewhere in his life early to devalue women. IMHO

I wonder if there are any Chicago area disc jockeys that would like to show up in front of DP's house with a bullhorn. I remember when that happened to Scott Peterson and I thought that was most excellent!
DP doesn't like the media, so maybe he needs more of it!!!
I watched the interview this morning and he reminds me of the man that used to beat my mother. I think DP is a disgusting, woman hating PIG!!!!
I think that the location of Stacy's car is a red herring....

Meanwhile, Drew Peterson's brother Paul appeared before a Will County grand jury Wednesday, according to Peterson's neighbor Steve Carcerano, who was to testify but was told to come back.
Paul Peterson declined comment.

If DP cared one iota about his kids, he wouldn't have disposed of their mother and he would have taken them to another location to be cared for during this time. He said on national TV that he has people lined up to care for them.....

If he learned to devalue women...most likely it came from his father or a step-father. His relationship with his mother was probably wraught with him being disrespectful and an older male encouraging the type of behavior.

Great though IM, but those children are also dealing with this crap. That is the only reason I wish the media would back off a bit from the house. Those boys must be scared out of their minds..I don't know why they weren't left with the brother instead of brought home to where they know the media is camping out. It sounds like DP just wants them there to show he is in control. :banghead:
However, I don't think it is that frightening for the kids. Kids are fascinated by commotion. The trucks, the lights, the cameras, and the reporters plus crews would only be a distraction for them unless Drew is telling them things to make them afraid of the media...which is possible. He certainly doesn't want any of his kids talking to them! (Maybe one of them will pull a Tucker and record a conversation to sell! We can only hope!!)
