I am coming to this case late and trying to catch up, too many threads!

I would like to pursue the Blue Barrel and the moving of IT from the master bedroom ? ? ?, was that the location? When did this happen and who was present?

I read about the blue barrel on a 'thread here?' and I cannot find it.

I think this blue barrel deserves a thread of its own here.

I'm curious about this too, Camper.

With a few details about that barrel, perhaps the purchase of it could be traced.

I wonder if LE have checked with local businesses that sell them yet?

There was a case here in Idaho years ago where a husband bought trash bags, duct tape and rope (I think). The clerk that rung those items up wound up testifying about that.

IdahoMom, I don't even remember the details that I read somewhere in the maze of information on this case.

Why was the barrel in the HOUSE, and or in the bedroom? Plastic bags are in common usage, why would a grown man NEED a barrell in his bedroom?

Are we talking 60 gallon steel barrell??? I would appreciate any information that our posters have on 'thet barrell. I would personally think that would have been a convenient way to remove a body.

I would not think that you could put a standard 60 gallon steel barrell in the back of your car to remove it. I am not sure I even have the exact information on the BLUEbarrell, need HELP here.

IF IF he purchased such a barrell, the seller no doubt would have heard a 'reason' for needing such a barrell. Wonder if the PD uses blue barrells'?

 Now I am totally confused ... I thought there blue plastic barrels in a pond. There were 3(?) reported and yet by the time the media got to the pond there was one less that previously reported. As police cars were there it was pure speculation that they had removed a barrel?

This whole case is just driving me nuts! I want something to break ... fast!

I thought it was his neighbor that mentioned she saw DP and his brother remove a large plastic container from his house on Sunday.

We started at 6:00am following a lead from Rick Mims about a place drew may have taken stacy. A blue barrel was spotted from an airplane. We drove the hour to the location and rented a boat. There were 2 detectives already out on the water with a conservationist. We saw 2 blue barrels but the one in question was gone. Tim Miller is sending the plane out to take another picture at the exact coordinates. Police may have recovered the barrell when we left they were still on the water. We got great video of mark f following a lead, searching out on the boat and we will compare the photos and get a comment from state police.

I thought that the email referred to two separate leads that S. Watts was chasing down. 1. info from Ric Mims and 2. about the blue barrel.

For the life of me I can't remember how the blue barrel story came about. I feel like we're playing a game of telephone ... the barrel goes from the back yard, to the airport, to a local pond, to the bedroom.

This is what I've gathered about the "blue barrel".

Ric states that neighbor Sharon told him she saw a man helping Drew move a barrel outside the house. That is probably where Ric got the info from to help with the search. The location they found the other blue barrels is a place Ric knew Drew and Stacy liked to go visit.

Now back to the barrel. Sharon saw the barrel being moved by Drew and a man outside. Newsources have reported that neighbors say the barrel(s) that used to be in the backyard are now gone. Also reported is that a heavy blue rubbermaid container was removed from an upstairs bedroom.

So who is this guy who helped move the barrel? I don't think LE knows or has talked to him. I would bet Drew is denying everything about a barrel even existing. LE probably pieced together the "blue barrel" from information gathered from Sharon and Drews kids.

Ric Mims was asked by Tim and Greta to help name places he thought would be likely dump sites for Stacy, by DP. Ric used to fly quite often with DP and they felt he might be able to show them places that DP was aware of for stashing Stacey. I think even this morning he was giving tips on sites to searchers.

Obviously I/WE need more information.

Hi Camper! Welcome to the case! I know there's a picture of his type of plane around here somewhere. It's apparently nothing like you would think. It's small and would be difficult to handle flying while tossing a body or container from it. So some say, anyway!

--->>>Could depend on how many trips he made in his airplane. Wonder what sort of purchases he has made recently, containers etc. Would like to see a picture of the plane. Do we know how long he has owned the plane IF IF he owns it?

Still wanting more information on the missing barrel and the large container, do WE know what was purportedly in the container, or what the barrell was used for in 'the yard'.

Remember Laci Petersons head was never found, nor her hands. Small items could be dropped from an airplane without much difficulty. Wonder what his flight log says currently?

I am assuming that he owned 'a' plane, since I have no facts to back that up yet.

The pic of the plane I saw appeared to be of something that looked almost like a glider of some type, but there was a small, open topped two-seater thing with a motor I guess, and one larger triangular wing thing above. NO wings on the sides, as you would expect to see.

It looked like a flimsy toy to me. Even if the barrell would fit into the passenger seat, I doubt one could push it up and out while flying the plane.

It did not look like it would be safe to fly very high, so it would be easily spotted in the air, and I seriously doubt it could be flown at night or in windy conditions.

He owns a two seater ultra light. But he does have a pilots license. So the question is did he borrow someone else's pane...probably not or they would have come forward or there would have been a flight plan for sometime Sunday. He did not fly out of the local airport 400yds away, but another airport about a 40 minute drive away. If that airport has a retaining pond, caves or water nearby that is where I would look also.

The reason Ric was showing them places they had flown over was because many of them were remote areas in the countryside and they were wanting to know all the remote places DP was aware of that he may have stashed a body.

Because he was an uncover cop at one time you can bet you life he knows a lot of, lets just say, unsavory types. I had a dream about a highway with an H. There is one, it's also called Hwy 111, I believe and it's close to Naperville and an airport. I know it probably means nothing(My dream that is) I researched it yesterday and of course now I can't remember. I am thinking it is "Hillard" or something close to that.

You two have some interesting tidbits here.

Seems to me that DP has a whole lot more income and financial resources than his salary would provide. IF a different plane was used to dump 'a' body, then most likely the owner of 'that' plane would not come forward.

Why would he use an airport so far away, unless he would fly there in his small plane to pick up drugs that had been flown in, in a larger plane not want to be noticed near Bolingbrook, and then he could fly back home relatively un noticed with the supply or he could drop them easily from the air unnoticed for pick up in a remote area.

Maybe the entire BBPD should be given drug testing ASAP.

Would like to see what might be common for charges on his credit card for fuel, how many miles he flies on a regular basis, and how much fuel is used, to see any discrepancies.

I understand that most airports you can use your own cred. cd. and refuel your own plane, with a gas machine, no attendant necessary.
Learned this through digging on the JonBenet case. Tiny airports do not have a real person at night, they use an electronic system for flights in and out , for the life of me I cannot remember what it is called.

--->>>Used to see them a lot at gas stations, 60 gal steel drums. Stations would put old oil after oil changes in them, then call people to take them away to hazardous storage yards. We ran into this in the Chandra Levy case too.

Stacey just might be in a storage yard somewhere with suspicious record about JUST WHAT was in the barrell. That aspect should be easily able to be checked out by the investigators on this case, IF IF the barrell purportedly had hazardous waste in it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Googled blue barrel+peterson and i got info from another case. Until now I kept picturing a light blue Rubbermaid trash can. I couldn't understand why DP would need assistance carrying a Rubbermaid container with Stacy's petite body in it. Did not think about the huge metal barrels that are used at service stations or garages for disposing things. What would a barrel like that be doing inside the house? Especially in the bedroom.

I hope this is not what happened in this case:

"Larissa Schuster represented the all American dream. She got masters in chemistry and started her own business," said Dennis Peterson, Prosecutor.
Peterson showed jurors a blue barrel.
He said in a similar container authorities found Tim Schuster's body on July 12, 2003 inside a storage room soaking in hydrochloric acid.
The first witness Clovis Police Sergeant Jim Koch described what he saw.
"Once I undid the metal cover around the barrel, I lifted it up and I recognized it being human remains," said Jim Koch, Clovis Police Department.
Peterson told Jurors Larissa harbored strong negative feelings towards Tim as they battled through a divorce. He played several minutes of record phone message.

--->>>In catching up more on this case, apparently the 'blue barrell' was kept in the 'back yard'. Neighbor said she had seen a man helping DP remove the barrell and it is gone.

IF IF IF it was a steel drum 60 gallon type, as those many of us have seen in gasoline stations and garages in the past, THEN I am thinking DP MAY HAVE represented to a 'Hauler man' as holding environmentally dangerous stuff, and paid to have it taken to a storage yard for such material. He could totally have mis represented it to the man as to what was INSIDE the barrell.

IF IF IF I might be right, then it could be resting in a massive area of old barrells. IF I am right, no doubt 'that' place would have a record of the pickup day and addresses of pickup points.

This was why I mentioned checking DP credit card information to see IF IF such a charge was noted for payment for either the pickup trip OR OR for a large amount of chemical.

The soaking in hydrochloric acid. that you mention in the other case. I am also wondering if this chemical comes in crystal form, a bag could be easily disposed of.

Please, anyone feel free to do the legwork on this.

I would also like to see the aerial picture of the DP and Stacey property. It is on one of the threads but dang IF I know where to look for it!!! Too many threads.

That's what I was thinking. Plus, Lake Michigan is huge! I looked it up, and it's got 22,000 square miles of surface area and is 900+ feet deep at its deepest point.

Littledeer

That would explain DP's arrogance and nonchalance that Stacy will be found. If he was aware of the Scott Peterson case, he would know not to dump a "whole" body as there would be the possiblility of the body washing up on shore somewhere.

Weighing her down, would not be an option as that would probably be too much weight in the ultra light plane, if that is what he used.

With the time frame that DP had, it would be nothing for him to get to Lake Michigan and back again, even within 2 or 3 hours. It still leaves him with 8 or 9 hours to clean up, move cars around, etc.

my computer is doing funky stuff, spacing is off, ANYHOW I assume DUAL fuel usage is for a two seater craft.

SO, my brain now tells me that the most likely closest access to Lake Michigan would be where he headed to DUMP WHAT ?, extremities to be quickly devoured by fish. I assume someone in this craft would follow the highways to the spot he ended up dumping whatever.

I am guessing that the Blue Barrell can be found. I also Googled and hydrochloric acid does come in crystal form.

{I once took a chartered flight on a 45 passenger plane from Aspen Airways, and we visited the open cockpit and the pilot had a road map spread out, hmmm.}

I have not seen specifications on altitude requirements for flying over neighborhoods etc. Someone want to check that out.

itsreenw do you have a source for the model of craft he had/has to be certain of our facts? Thank you.

Also the picture in 'itsreenw' link shows this craft parked in what looks like a normal backyard, so it does not have to be hangared at an airport it would seem. IF IF the neighbor saw the barrel guy, they may have seen or heard a takeoff, although that might be a rather quiet sound, I would guess.

I many not be on line til evening again.

The ultra light plane would not have been an option for Drew's use in getting rid of her body. Weather conditions have to be perfect as well as winds to use the ultra light. Even Ric has said that. However his flights to previous areas with Rick do give some indication of possible places to hide Stacey's body, as well as the possible use of someone else's plane who owes him a very big favor. I think DP has people all over BB that are rather unsavory that owe him big favors.

Whatever remained then could have been removed in a rubbermaid container, in his craft. I need dates for all of these removed containers, to compare to Staceys disappearance.

The BLUE barrel NEEDS TO BE found, it is too coincidental IF IF IF it was removed AFTER Stacey disappeared.

Does anyone here know someone who could tell us if a barrell with a body in it would feel or sound or balance differently than a barrell full of some kind of toxic waste?
I am talking about how it would shift when it is moved around.

It seems to me that even if you put some kind of liquid in with the body there would be thunking sounds or weird shifts of balance as the body sloshed sround inside. So wouldn't anyone who helped move it have to wonder if there was someone or something weird in there, even if it was moved before they knew about Stacy's disappearance?

Wouldn't this be very apparent to someone whose business is moving and storing these barrells? A toxic wast storage is a logical place to hide it. who would want to go in and open up all the toxic barrells to see if one had a body? Ewwwyuck!

Of course, some people just aren't that curious. Hard to understand, as I always want to know everything!

Susan

--->>>The perception of a toxic waste dump pick up person would be based on WHAT DP might have told them about WHAT was in the barrel. IF IF I were the driver picking up the toxic barrel, I would most likely have to record WHAT was told to me about WHAT was in the barrel, time and date and location of the pickup and have the person sign the pick up sheet. I am guessing, but would think I might be close to correct.

I also think that toxic waste would not be stored in a plastic container at an official toxic dump location. The focus of the dump is to keep the toxic materials from seeping into the earth and contaminating water supply etc. Remember Erin Brockovich.

DP could have lodged the body in so that it would not shift, the weight would work by the size of the barrel and how much liquid would normally weight. DP could have worked the math on weight size etc.

We really just do not know HOW smart DP is, or how close to being perfect in covering up a murder that he MAY have committed. Usually a person doing a crime like this slips up somewhere.

DP already discovered that his past words are being taken to task, so mum is his word from now on.

Yes, find 'the' barrel.

I just dredged up this older article about early on in the investigation. Gives details of the exact type of aircraft Drip Peterson owns. Investigators were asking airport personnel LOTS of questions about what the aircraft can/can't do and pointedly was asking about barrels. Interesting.

--->>>Snippet from quote and the link above.

"About 11 a.m., Peterson rode out of his driveway on a motorcycle, with a red-white-and-blue bandanna pulled up to his eyes.

About two years ago, Hudetz trained Drew Peterson to fly his micro-light, which runs about $20,000 new, the flight instructor said.

"He was actually a private pilot before that," Hudetz said. "He flew regular airplanes. He seemed like a very nice guy."

Sometimes Peterson flew alone but he had also flown with his wife, Hudetz said. "

This sorta casts another light on DP ability to fly other planes and perhaps do a drop of 'stuff' or 'things' farther away. Hmmm.

Unless of course it was filled with concrete.....quick dry concrete.
I brought up this point the other dayon a differen thread.I heard that his brother had been brought in for qestioning and that he suppose to have been quoted saying that he had been having nightmares since helping Drew dispose of Stacy's body, in a 55-gal barrel and that they had disposed of the barrel in a waterway. I had this question when LE started searching waterways again....I was told that Windhime had checked on this rumor with a cbs produced and that this story was not true.
Has that changed? Have we now found evidence that this "rumor" was actually a true story?
TIA for any responses.

CuriosityCat: I saw your post days ago and it just dawned on me what you dreamt of. I live a few short miles from BB in South Naperville, pretty much in between the Stebics and the Petersons. It's not a highway you're referring to, it is a boulevard. It used to be called 111th street, but it has been renamed after Dennis Hastert (it is spelled Hassert in BB). So it is Hassert Boulevard you were dreaming of, and yes it is close to Naperville and it is also close to several airports.

About this airport....its a small non commercial airport that is literally in the Peterson's backyard. 5 minute walk or so. So if her car was at the airport there'd be no problem moving the cars back to the house one by one with a little walk in between. The retention pond that was searched within the first week of her missing is also part of this airport and again only a few minutes walk from their home.

Here are more pictures of the Aquila Trike, which DP owned. DP probably couldn't have gotten a barrel in it, especially alone - maybe a body, but I also don't think he could have just dumped Stacy w/o someone finding her by now. I guess that's why LE is concentrating elsewhere. Has DP denied the blue barrel?

IMO DP was a cop with 29 yrs of experience. He knows better than to dump a body in a barrel.

Drew kept his small go kart with wings at an airport called Cushing Field. According to Ric Sims, Cushing is 40 mins from Drew's home.

I heard Ric Mims say that too..that where Drew's plane was kept was not the local airport that is a 5 minute walk, but 40 minutes away. I really don't think that the airport figures in as much as we might think. It is after all Drew's say so that Stacy called at 9 PM Sunday night from the airport saying she was leaving. He is the one that said he left the house on foot to go to the nearby airfield to get her car. I think it is all BS on Drew's part. I think he put Stacey in the car and had someone else help him because both cars were gone when Stacy's sister called at 11:30 PM asking to speak with Stacy. Drew said he was at home then but Stacy was not, she then drives by both cars are gone. It was just an off the cuff story Drew made at on the spur of the moment that facts do not support. I don't think he expected Stacy's sister to be so observant or so fast in picking up that somehting was terribly wrong.

Another thing I have thought of..didn't the police say that they had her cell phone and his..no one leaves like that without taking their cell phone..to atleast check with kids and tell them you miss them, how are they doing, Mommy will be home soon, etc. She never was at any airport. I keep thinking Drew followed her on her way to her sister and this whole thing took place somewhere out in the country but not too far away from home. That's the reason two cars were needed to retrieve the body..or maybe I am wrong

As I said earlier, CuriosityCat, there are several airports nearby. Clow is the airfield nearest DP's home. There is also an airstrip here in Naperville, just a couple miles from DP's. This is an airstrip surrounded by upscale homes - it's called Aero Estates. Maybe the detectives on the police force are doing so.

I don't have an answer to the flight plan for an ultra light craft.

I am now wondering IF IF DP's brother/brothers? (how many siblings does he have ?) might have a pilots license and a plane of their own?

Wonder what his brother/brothers do for a living?

The barrel needs to be found! Size and circumstances of this case are too coincidental for the barrel to not be involved somehow.

I'm with you on that, Camper. I've thought that since I first heard of "the barrel".
Wouldn't they (LE) have some type of sonar/radar equipment that would be able to pick up on barrel's on the bottom of a water way? I would think with all of the high-tech equipment available today, they would have some type of resource to make searches of that type move along more quickly.
Has anyone heard how the water searches are coming along? I haven't ehard anything reported on that lately, but then again it's hard to stay up for the late night programs.

POLICE LOOKING FOR MAN WHO MAY HAVE LOADED RECEPTACLE INTO VEHICLE WITH EX-OFFICER

It would also make sense when you add in Drew says she ran off with another man, then Drew deposits her body near the other man's home to make it look like Rossetto killed her. But what reason would Rossetto ever have had to kill Stacy? I think Drew would have known that the other man killing Stacy was far less likely then Drew killing her, the other man would have no motive...where as Drew had motive, opportunity and the means. But once again I think Drew counted on everyone beleiving him, Stacy's family not being so quick to pick up on the fact something was very wrong..and because he's a policeman no one would suspect him....what wrong thinking on Drew's part.

--->>>Thank YOU!

This article reafirms, the sexually loaded text messages between Rosetto and Stacy the three weeks prior to her disappearance.

MORE importantly though this bit from chicolivings link made me very hopeful about the BLUE BARREL being involved in her disappearance. DP's Denali vehicle was the one the neighbor says, "He saw DP and an 'unidentified man load the blue barrel into immediately JUST AFTER Stacy was reported MISSING."

"A police source said tests conducted on the Denali at the State Police laboratory have not been completed. But another source said police located pieces of blue plastic on the back end of the Denali."

You know what, it sounds like to me that IF he had help loading the barrel at their home THAT he most likely had help unloading it and maybe digging a hole for the body and or the barrel with it OR taking the then empty barrel and disposing of IT elsewhere. Very busy work for ONE man, ya think?

NOW then 'who' would the man have been, and the article makes no mention of the neighbor seeing the barrel loaded into A TRUCK. IF IF IF the neighbor saw them load it into DP's Denali, wouldn't that SAME neighbor have seen a bigger item LIKE A TRUCK that the helpie person came in er, huh?

FRIEND or RELATIVE sticks in my brain, for the HELPIE person!!!!!!

I am also wondering IF IF the neighbor who saw the barrel activity is the husband of Stacys good friend (Sharon Bychowski neighbor and friend of Stacy).

IF IF my assumption is correct that IT might have been her good friends hubby, Then I continue to assume that MAYBE Sharon has told LE some personal information that Stacy MAY have told her about DP.

Good luck to the new group of searchers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is a company in Denver area - cannot remember their names, but they have special equipment that can read out 'freshly disturbed earth'.
As I recall they were located in the Highlands Ranch area, south of Denver. Found them when working on a case a LONG time ago. Memory is shot on their name.

DP's goose is cooking in the LE oven, imop. He is headed for the 'Striped Sun Tan Spa.

Are sociopaths fond of fleeing ?, I donut know, anyone know?

From what I read they think they can talk their way out of a paper bag.

I've been thinking about why police thought that Stacy might have been disposed of in water and of the barrel.

Ok, Stacy in a barrel, with effort Drew could have moved without assistance- and most likely would have. But if something was added to cover the body- ie concrete then he would have required assistance. He wouldn't have needed concrete if he was intending to bury it, so it stands to reason that he intended to put in it water.

Ok, he gets assistance to move the barrel and is intending to take it to a body of water. Where would he dump it? He wouldn't want it along the edge of the water, to high a possibility that someone might take an interest in it. So dumping it from a bridge? Or use of a boat?

Or, and I just considered this. Hide in plain sight. Around marina's etc. they often use containers filled with concrete to make moorings for boats. So a blue barrel filled with concrete wouldn't look out of place. Police look to deep water usually. Not the edge of a body of water. Of course there is the problem that marina's often have people around that might notice and later connect someone dropping off a blue barrel at their marina. I wonder if there are any little used-poorly maintained marina's in the area? Could this be a possibility?

Has there been any mention of a life insurance policy on Stacy? Since DrewP benefitted so well after kathleens death I'm thinking he would have wanted the same from Stacy. In that case he would want her body found so he could collect sooner than waiting the years it takes to have someone declared dead if no body found. That makes me more inclined that he could try to frame someone else for her death.

I also think the barrel moving man was paid 25K to move it. There is some trail that's going to show a 25K transaction so Drew has to account for it somehow.

Way back when at the beginning of all of this, it was also stated that a heavy blue rubbermaid container was moved from an upstairs bedroom. I'm sure a neighbor didn't see that. I theorized before that that info must have come from the kids, who have to be asking, WTF dad? WTF?

I also think the barrel moving man was paid 25K to move it. There is some trail that's going to show a 25K transaction so Drew has to account for it somehow.

--->>>Great point. 'THE' neighbor who saw the 'man' would also REMEMBER THE DAY AND THE TIME TOO. Wonder who of DP's PD friends or friends would have been available that time of day?

Where OR did DP go 'with' the blue barrel in HIS PERSONAL Danali vehicle? Who would he have met, OR did the neighbor see the MAN leave with the Denali with its 'cargo' in the back ? not likely. Neighbor most likely know who all was in the vehicle when it left, er huh?

A police source says they have "good information" Stacy was dumped in the Shorewood area near the home of Rossetto. Another source said investigators believe the killer may have attempted to frame Rossetto by depositing the body near his house

whoa!....sounds like LE is on to something, hmmm
would make sense that DP would want to try to frame this guy, from everything i've read lately...

Maybe that's what he meant when he said "Stacy is where she wants to be" or whatever the exact words were.

I have been thinking about Drew showing up at the Denny's. Being the control freak that it has been widely reported he is, He finds her there with Rosseto
and it begins to play on his mind.
The next nine days he imagines it was more then just a one time "coffee" thing.
He then could of found the new telephone with a number he is not aware of.

He's losing CONTROL. She is starting school soon, she is wanting to move to her own place.

In his mind it's all because of Rosseto. He thinks this of course because of his adulterous past. He thinks she is sneaking around with one goal and one goal only to be with this new guy she was having coffee with.

He can't let that happen of course and he begins to think of killing her. He then thinks about how to do this and get by with it...AGAIN.

He comes home and finds she had been using the new cellphone..this could actually now that I am thinking about it been the first time he discovers the new cellphone.:)

He loses it, and kills her. He then puts her in the blue barrell calls a friend and disposes of it and her.

Wonder IF IF there is a specific location designated for pick up of hazardous materials on hospital grounds? Pick up one barrel and leave 'DP's barrel in place?

Although LE has never come out and confirmed this, supposedly, there is survelance video of Mark Hacking dumping his wife's body into a dumpster at the hospital he worked at.

Remember Drews demeanor initially? He was downright freaked out and covering his face for a reason. All of a sudden a few weeks later he's cool, calm and joking for the cameras. I think the change came because the time for Stacy to be found has passed. For whatever reason, he now knows she won't be found.

I didn't know SR was a nurse. This along with what I said in my post above makes me think that DP may of thought this is why Stacy was going into nursing. SR's influence.
I think in the nine days since he had seen them together he had a lot of time to plan his crime. He just didn't know when he was going to do it.
I think he stalked SR, found out about his life and decided not only would he kill Stacey but make sure it looked like SR did it. He was framing him.

Good point SuzeQ ..and Drew would probably know where all the survalance cameras in town were...being an upstanding cop for the community.

I still wonder is there water around and near Sherwood or possibly a landfill? The barrell probably contained not only Stacy, but her clothing, and his clothing that he was wearing when her demise came about.

DP was obviously frustrated with Stacy's new cell phone and meeting another guy. I would be a bit miffed if I found my spouse exchanged sexually charged messages with a memeber of the opposite sex, then met him/her for lunch. Why was Stacy meeting SR after these exchanges? Maybe SR didn't have an affair with Stacy, but the messages and meeting may have been headed in that direction. Somehow DP must have suspected what was happening, i.e. showing up at Denny's.

When DP married Stacy (or began an affair), what was he thinking? Did he believe that a 16/17 year old girl would actually want an old man forever?

The whole point of the cell phone was so Drew didn't know about it. Also, it doesn't appear that Stacy had the new cellphone until around the day of the Denny's meeting. If Drew found out about the new cell phone it was after she gave the numer to her sister the week before Stacy went missing.

Here is a timeline I've put together for the month before Stacy went missing. Interesting in hindsight. I will PM Maureeng if she wants to add it to hers. If I have anything wrong, please post a correction.

In the month before Stacy disappeared…

10-8, Stacy’s uncle said Drew didn’t believe that classes were held on Columbus Day and accused Stacy of lying to him.

10-17, Stacy sends marriage in trouble email to Steve Cesares.

10-17 or 18, Stacy called her stepsister Debby, to give Debby, her new cell phone number. Stacy wants to get together with their kids in a couple of weeks.

10-18 Drew and Stacy’s wedding anniversary. Drew gives her expensive ring.

10-19, Scott Rossetto says that he and Stacy were having lunch at Denny’s when Drew showed up. Stacy discusses not being happy in her marriage. Scott says to get an attorney.

10-24, Stacy called her stepsister Kerry, to give Kerry her new cell number. Said her new cell phone number was because Drew had figured out how to track her cell phone. Stacy said marriage counseling wasn’t going very well.

10-25, Stacy calls Pam Bosco about renting one of her properties. Stacy discusses divorcing Drew. Pam says get an attorney.

10-28, Stacy goes missing.

DATE? Sharon sees Stacy sitting outside with boxes crying ans saying she wants Drew to leave.

The problem with the ultralight is that the barrel was heavy enough that it needed two men to move it. So it is questionable whether the ultralight would support that weight. Second problem is that the ultralight is a two seater. Supposing Drew P was in the pilot's seat, and the barrel in the passenger seat, who would throw the barrel out? And if it was Drew P throwing the barrel out, who would fly the plane? I am supposing that with the moving and shifting needed in order to put the barrel out, plus the changes in weight that adjustments would be needed in the flying.

--->>>More good finds in chicolivings link above.

"A man from Stacy's past whom she had recently reached out to, 35-year-old Scott Rossetto of Shorewood, admitted that he and the missing woman traded sexually charged text messages for the three weeks leading up to her disappearance. Rossetto denies having carried on an affair with Stacy Peterson, but did say he met her at a Bolingbrook Denny's restaurant nine days before she vanished. An uninvited Drew Peterson interrupted the rendezvous, Rossetto said."

and

"Shorewood searches
A police source says they have "good information" Stacy was dumped in the Shorewood area near the home of Rossetto. Another source said investigators believe the killer may have attempted to frame Rossetto by depositing the body near his house."

.

Sounds like they may have a witness, at least a witness that puts Drew P in the area.

Camper, good point that they also need to look at the hospital where Rosetto works.

Was it heavy enough for 2 people to move it, or just big and unwieldy? A big man could easily carry a small woman's body, but not necessarily so easily if she were encased in a large barrel that can't be slung over the shoulder. If it was just Drew P and the barrel, it might not be much heavier than having 2 passengers. As far as the changes and adjustments necessary, it would depend on the amount of experience flying as to whether he could handle it.

Anyway, I was just trying to answer an earlier question in this thread regarding whether one could fly without a flight plan. The answer is, yes, one could theoretically fly without being required to file a flight plan.

I don't know the make & model of Drew P's 20k plane, or whether it is indeed an ultralight. I was just trying to answer the question about the flight plan.

Delta Dawn~~ to answer your question about Shorewood it is a suberb West of Joliet Il I have freinds in Shorewood & I was there 1 month ago I know that the Dupage River is nearby & Rosetti lives near Hammel Woods closeby in Shorewood near River. Channahon is another place where the river is all about 15 miles from BB I hope this helps and I am positive that LE is checking this area out.
SNIP about Dupage River in Shorewood Il.~~~~
DuPage River
Nearest City: Shorewood, IL
Description:
Here is an excellent, yet fast section of the DuPage Rver. It can be run in about 3 hours from the Hammel Woods Park dam in Shorewood, to the Illinois and Michigan dam in Channahon.
The latter section to Channahon is flatwater, but most of the river moves with a good current, due to the gradient, and has a fast yet safe pace. Nothing rated more than a class I rapid anywhere, most are fast long ripples sections.

You can canoe it at almost any time of the year, but we recommend it to be run after a decent rain to get thru the 2 shallow areas that get low during a drier summer. Some of the shoreline is lined with homes, but it still has a nice countryside feel to it.

There are numerous put in and take out places along the river to shorten the trip.

I agree with your thoughts. The many conflicting lies he has told mainstream media about what Stacy did, said, and why she 'left' show a lack of planning and disorganized, panicked thinking after the crime. I also think he was very rattled that he was suspected ( and not protected) by LE early on. He told many conflicting details, and has done many hasty chaotic things. I posted my thoughts on what may have precipitated the murder and the direction his thoughts seem to be pointing to in her thread, part 8. He seems to be sending out quite a lot of subconscious messages.

I am only partially kidding. because barrels can be rolled but to get them into a vehicle of any kind usually they must be lifted unless there is a ramp.

I couldn't lift it. But I am not that strong. It wouldn't be too hard for a man I don't think, they could tip it up on one edge and use the side against the vehicle as a lever/fulcrum to work it into the vehicle.

Kinda sounds like that's what Drew P and cohort did....leaving blue plastic on the Denali. Even though a barrel with 100# isnt' "that heavy" I think it would be difficult for Drew P to do himself. The getting into the vehicle anyway, getting it out I think would be much easier...give it a kick and it rolls/falls out.

This a bit O/T, but does pertain to lifting a 55 gal. drum or container.

Many years ago before wheeled refuse containers & remote lifting I worked for the City Refuse Dept. We received many calls of complaints from customers stating their container had not been emptied. We always asked if the container was overly heavy, the common reply was "no way, my little wife got it out to the curb".

Often the foreman would return to the residence to check the weight of the container and if a man came out would tell that customer if he could lift the 55 gal. container himself up into his truck he would haul it away, most couldn't do so without assistance.

I don't know. I think one man could put it in a vehicle if it was just a 100 # +. The barrel itself doesn't weigh that much and the plastic is smooth, so it could be slid right on up. However, if it was planned to put in water for instance, concrete might be put on top, that would make it much heavier and would most likely require two people.

The blue barrel theory has a lot of merits, however:

If the neighbor saw DP and an unknown person lifting a barrel and putting it in a vehicle, where were the children? This seems to imply that Stacy was killed at home and then put in the barrel???

The older son told Stacy's sister that Mom and Dad got in a fight and DP was out looking for her..........Don't know the exact time frame that this occured at, but it would beg the question, if the kids never left home that day, would DP have been able to put Stacy in a blue barrel without any notice from the kids and them not at least questioning DP what the blue barrel was for or why are you moving the barrel, Dad??

Maybe, they were questioned about this at the GJ??

According to some of the reports, the children were in the house that day. So DP would have difficulties getting her body to the car without the children seeing it. He could have given the excuse that he was taking the barrel upstairs to clean out a closet or something.

Report: Neighbor Told Police He Saw Drew Peterson, 2nd Man, Loading Barrel Into SUV

What about parking his car in the garage, taking the barrel out throught the house to the attached garage? This seems more realistic if someone was trying to hide something.

As for the missing (if there's truth to this) $25,000 that Stacy supposedly took from the home safe, could this have been a payoff to DP's helper, which is why no one is coming forward saying they helped DP. DP may have been familiar with the criminal element enough that the helper is long gone from the area. Maybe this is why this is a Hakuna Matata for DP?

New Gretacast between Greta and her producer Steph. They discuss that ISP requested FBI come in with their resources. Not sure when that will start. LE looking at the males in Drews family as the ones who helped move the barrel. Discuss ambulance report for Kathleens death.

WFLD-TV is reporting that Ric Mims helped DP move a blue barrel. Greta post here and I'm looking for a link from the news site.

Hmmmm, Ric has helped searchers try to locate a blue barrel. Everyone early on was looking for a blue barrel. Ric has stated several time previously that he didn't get over to Drews till the Tuesday after Stacy went missing. I think someone is confusing Ric helping search for the blue barrel as someone who helped move the blue barrel. Nothing would surprise me though.

Here is the post: I'm not sure how to take this. First off the guy is from Denny's not Wendy's. I will be very dissapointed in Ric if he has know this all along and just now came forward with this info.

RIC MIMS is suspected th have helped with the blue “barrel” and has reportedly shown ISP police where it was located. It was near a pond or retention water not far from the home of that fellow that Stacy met at Wendy’s, all this according to WFLD-TV (local FOX) this evening. The staton showed a still picture of a blue barrel wedged in branches on shore of a weeded area.
Coincidentially, Ric Mims announces he has an attorney when the FBI joined the case, as I understood the news report. More after 5 and 6 p.m. news locally.
I still think Ric will end up the hero in this story!!

It would suprise me if it was Ric. There had already been discussion that Drew P and another man had moved a barrel out of the house. If it had been Ric, I don't think he would have been willing to go on TV or go around the house where the neighbor might get another look at him.

Something doesn't make sense. If they think they may have the barrel, why are they bringing in the FBI now?

Ok, things are flying so fast today and I am trying to get around to putting a christmas tree up, but...Did someone just post in one of the threads that FBI is also here to investigate Drews job related crimes?

Anyone have any thoughts about Brian's Dreams re Stacy? In his dream about Stacy, he saw a barrel that is located in a mine. I think its interesting especially since he had the dream on Nov 2nd. He also dreamt about her journal or a black journal. hmmmm....

No offense Liz, but Brian is a con artist who preys on family and friends of victims who are desperate for answers. He changes his readings, dreams or whatever you want to call them to fit the facts as they come out.

In addition to the missing blue barrel that police have told the family they're looking for, sources say scuba diving weights are also missing from Drew's house. That may have led investigators to search numerous ponds, including one near Clow Airfield where sources say cadaver dogs hit on something.

Sources say the dogs also hit on something in an upstairs bedroom of the Peterson house -- the same bedroom where sources say a nightstand is believed to have turned up missing. That's led investigators to question recent visitors to the Peterson home about what furniture they recalled seeing in that room.

So now we're hearing that items are missing from the home. Weights and a nightstand from the bedroom.

Well, it's more sad than interesting now that I think about it. :(

Early on some of the commentary on the news mentioned a blue barrel that contained pool supplies was missing from the home. Haven't seen it in print but that was what was being said during live goings on during the SW and the search of the Clow airport retention ponds. fwiw

So maybe DP and Stacy went out to the pool for a quick dip together. Maye, she was wearing a bikini.

Then Stacy says something or anything that DP does not like, he has a chance to strangle her in the pool. (Begs the question, where are the kids) ? But a possiblilty.

Blue Barrel, comes into play somehow later in the day,

In the video report at the cbs2 link above, it says (my words):

Days before Stacy disappeared, Cassandra was at Stacy's and saw a large
blue barrel in the garage and asked Stacy what it was for.
Stacy said it contained chlorine that Drew had recently bought so that they
could clean their pool.

Wasn't it cold though?

Last she was heard from was Sunday morning, supposedly talking to her sister's guy friend from bed. (I think, right?) I wish I could figure out how a bikini figures in with this. That's such an odd thing to throw out there. Maybe it was on the floor and it's what he strangled her with. I know we've thrown that one around a few times...

Doesn't look like the top "pops" off though. It's hard to tell from the picture.

There might be large, blue barrels with powdered chlorine where the top comes off.

Surely someone would remember him buying this off-season from any local pool supplies store.

I imagine a whole barrel would be something a pool-cleaning company would buy though, as you wouldn't need this much for your average pool, right?

Good grief! Reading this gave me the creeps.

Blue barrel supposedly holding something to treat the pool. Stacy disappears and DP says she took her bikini.

Interesting,

Is the picture of a rubbermaid barrel?? Or a steel barrel? Also, to release the lid, do you only need to turn both of the white knobs counterwise?

I mean how easy or hard it it to ger the lid undone??

Is the barrel supposed to have been made out of steel, littledeer? This looks plastic. Don't know about the lid. The pool we had didn't require that much chlorine! lol

There's probably steel containers out there too. This one happened to be blue, so I posted it just to give us an idea of what they *might* be talking about.

Just looking at the Rubbermaid site, and I don't see any blue barrels there. That doesn't mean there aren't any, but I couldn't find any "barrels".

That picture is from a swimming pool supplies site. Reiterating that it's a blue barrel filled with chlorine, not from Rubbermaid.

I'm pretty sure that lid does not come off. I think that whatever is in those type containers is intended to be dispensed via a pump that fits onto it, when one of the plugs is removed.

Example:

http://www.bayteccontainers.com/accessories.html

Could the barrel have possibly been taken to where ever Stacy's body was placed and the entire barrel of chlorine used to destroy any possible evidence on her body?? (Maybe taking what law enforcement officer (Bobby Cutts) did, to the next level.)

Ok, Mysticchic has been asking what effect chlorine would have on a body if it was dumped on it. Would it dissolve the body like an acid would?
